Man you got some nice coins there. Id get them the hell out of those Whitman albums in a hurry they're loaded with sulfur which is destructive to silver coins. I believe in dipping coins to as long as you're not too heavily toned. What is toning? It's oxidation of the silver like rust is to a steel Fender of a car. I personally do not like toning at all but to some people do whatever floats their boat.

Can you do another video explaining what the dark colored dots are that are left behind from the dipping/cleaning? I'm with you on liking the non-blast-white kind of Morgans too!

If they are in the cardboard flips would they be safe? Also what about those plastic airtights capsules?

Dipping or cleaning devalues the coin. Toning is what makes coins more valuable and the details pop . People buy coins specifically for that toning . If you send in a dipped coin it’s coming back cleaned .

Those two Morgan’s you showed at 2:40-3:10 are extremely gorgeous and original. Yes even that 1896 you’re not as fond of as the first one To me, dipping them is almost sacrilege. It’s selling out to appease the “dark side half” imho ... and I think it’s quite the double standard that dipping those coins is “industry acceptable “ to all including PC and NGC, yet coin doctors who artificially tone coins are not. What’s the difference really ?? You’re altering the coins surface and appearance

Beautiful coins, even in the Whitman folder. Reminds me of my younger days collecting. By the way, are you left-handed? I just thought of that because there is a left to right slant of the year dates in the Whitman Folder.

Guess I’m different, because I think the album toning coins are far superior to the manilla envelope toned coins. It’s what makes the hobby great.

Hello brother ,How long the process of this toning?

At 5:00 that Morgan definitely LOOKS uncirculated, high grade, full breast feathers! Didn't get a close enough look at the details in the curls on the obverse ...but (I don't believe) there is any way to circulate a Morgan dollar without wearing the breast feathers at least a little! I'd pay a hundred bucks to know, if that coin was dipped, then sent off to be graded, would it come back CLEANED unc details ? That's the issue!

I just got back (2) Morgan’s from the grading company that had full luster that I bought directly from the coin dealer and the grade came back AU 58 POLISHED! WTF!
