I feel like there's an unlimited amount of content for physical execution, but there's almost no people out there putting out info on how to improve your actual mental like this (in any game really, Tekken, SFV, or even League). This is exactly what I've been needing, keep this shit up bro
Content like this isn't common because no one can really teach you how to read every opponent. Everyone plays the game differently. Videos like this are a good example though because It shows how applying what you know about the matchup and your opponent can lead to better decision making. Familiarity is key.
This was gold. I watch streamers such as Aris and TMM a lot, but they both offer very little in terms of match up analysis while they play. Speedkicks here is amazingly insightful, stays to the point and speaks clearly. He can carve out a dedicated following for this very reason as he's offering something very few others provide whilst playing.
What are you talking about TMM is all about matchup analysis but he doesn't go into details like this. His Noctis is all about matchup analysis and he knows a lot about the game. I always learn something watching his stream and he uses a decent number of characters.
Yeah that's fucking nuts. I think my highest rank is Mighty Ruler and it's pretty tough fighting against other purple ranks. This video lets me know that the truly elite players just have a different brain when it comes to Tekken lol.
@Leon Jones I'm well aware of the methodology, lab time and studying that must take place to level up in a fighting game. I have my own methods, but one of them is to go to the lab, go through the moves, study and take notes. I take notes of frame data, punishers, ws punishers, counter hit attacks etc. My reaction is slaw and I'm definitely not a pro, but I do know what I'm doing, for the most part. You just assuming that you know how strangers approach a game is just plain silly. With that being said, ft5 me ho.
This is why when people ask me if I know how to play fighting games I always say I'm not good. This man deconstructed a player in one round. I can't do that in a first to 50.
You read your opponents like a book and flip through them like pages. This is my first time watching you and you're the first tekken streamer I've watched that completely analyses the match up and the fight like as if you adapt to it your fight game strong and your mentally strong that my sir is incredible imma sub to you here and on twitch
God damn, man. You are a VERY good commentator to your own matches, breaking things down and making us understand everything you're doing and why. Awesome video, keep it up!
Great vid and very satisfying to watch after just getting bodied by a higher ranked Hwoarang online. Speedkicks does a great job breaking down this match up, I definitely learned a lot from this vid.
great video, thanks for uploading man! as many people said, there are a lot of videos about execution but not enough videos about game sense and fundamentals
This is a great companion vid to SK's other one on how to beat hwoarang. At the same time, I can't help but wonder to what extent this is just a superior player dominating an inferior one rather than a replicable blueprint to beat the character. That said, this set does go a long way towards de-fanging the perceived danger of Hwoarang's flamingo rush down.
I had a real bad perception of speedkicks, seemed so elitisty. glad i decided to give this vid a watch. I watch alot of lil majin but he doesnt break down whats happening in the neutral like this. Slickk vidd
Thanks I needed this literally got beaten by a Hworang yesterday cause I couldn't execute my counter play consistently enough or understand what was working.
I would do the same ,when an opponenet is bodying me like that i jist want to win even a round to mess up their tempo or try to figure out what they re thinking and change my playstyle, this hwo was really good tried to change alot even speedkicks recognizes it, but sk is on another level, OR this dude judt wanted to snatch a victory out of speedkicks for the clout
Imagine playing Hwo and realizing you're fighting Speedkicks. I mean I'd stick it out if I knew what was good for me. That's called opportunity. I would love JDCR to beat the shit out of my Dragunov hahaha.
Hey brotha! I missed you at PAX East 2019! This vid has been a blessing gameplay-wise in general outside of just facing Hwoarang I’ll face you and the squad soon! -CounterPique
That wasn't just any hwoarang player too he's serious business but Speedkicks just made it look like he was watching a video of someone else playing. Unreal.
This reminds me of the Street Fighter IV days when people would review match replays, but instead of a replay he's reviewing the thing as it happens lol
damn. i'm stuck at vindicator rank myself with steve wins around 900 already and i notice how simple of speedkicks using him rarely pkb no ext duck less weave etc and super effective. fundamental is everything that backdash is insane fundamental is really solid i think i need to practice more in this.
I don’t know how Speedkicks can talk and play at the same time like this but this is acc helpful. I don’t think any Tekken player does it this well. Or does it at all lol
Was watching this without sound for the first few minutes, but then after reading a comment that he talks like a rap god, I decided to turn on the sound. Damn is the only thing I can say about the dude. It's not only that he speaks fast, but he vocalizes the thing that he analyzes about the game. That thing in of itself is not amazing, or surprising, since almost every sport/game, people do the same thing. At least, that statement is true if you're not the "get high and just mash buttons" type of dude. What is amazing though, is how he reads his opponent. Kinda fitting if you think about it, because this is the same way how boxers/fighters "get to know" they're opponent. As the game goes by, the chances of the opponent diminishes little by little, since every tick or reaction is already accounted for, and the only thing to do is to just spam.
So to do all the quick side steps and back dashs so quickly Is it possible to do on a regular xbox one controller? I seem to trouble with that part the most.
