Nade stacks were the best thing in Halo CE. Old trick jumping montages were lit back in the old days. Although I was good at it myself, there's a lot you could do with nades, rockets, fuel rod gun, OS or if you increased maxed health to 500% (I think).
That's cool to hear this was done in ye olde times of Halo CE. I'm gonna look some of those montages up... I was only 5 when this game came out so didn't get to play it til like 2008 or so, and was fascinated by it. It's an incredible feat of gaming. It's amazing how, as both a speed run game and just a game in general, Halo CE holds up still as a super solid fps.
@@winterlogical yeah same, i was 5 at the time it was released, and played the absolute shit out of it. i kinda discovered nades could be stacked and launched with other nades back then, but the nade stack tricks are easily my favorite trick he does when he runs CE. Theyre so satisfying lol.
@@Noah050 CE multiplayer had the FRG even in classic gametypes. I'm not aware if this was a PC only thing since that's what I started playing pre-2010 (that wack port of the game by Gearbox). I would like to believe that the original XBOX included it in MP but I could be wrong as is my assumption that it may be included in MCC (as well as its PC port). The FRG was the ultimate noob canon in smaller maps which included it. E.g in Damnation CTF you could spawn camp enemies with it relatively easily. It didn't shadow the rocket launcher but it was near impossible to avoid being spawn killed in tight areas which CE (smaller) maps are infamous for. It's more balanced in bigger maps and most competitive players would use it in addition with a sniper, especially on Blood gulch CTF because it'd flip vehicles and send them flying. You could also be a complete wuss with it and spawn camp teleporters because that thing had so much ammo to spare.
God I hope they remove invisible barriers from Infinite's maps, they really hurt on Bazzaar when you try to use the grapple shot to swing over the buildings to the other side
@@noctisofrivia8778 Ah you never played halo 2 it seems then. Being able to go around outskirts was the best fun people had and a fuck ton of people want those invisible walls gone on the new map. So yeah actually it is a good idea.
@@shadosnake Damn bro, I really was thinking the grapple without invisible walls could make Halo Infinite a third person action game with beat'em up and stealth mechanics. Thanks buddy.
@@bonkmaykr because RU-vid bots are totally flawless and make zero mistakes. oh, let's not forget that some horror animations based on kids shows get marked for RU-vid Kids. the poor kids
I remember back in the day there was a portal glitch to get on the ceilings. but I honestly didnt know you could self boost yourself up there like that. awesome. hard to do in competitive im sure.
Love seeing this after all these years. Use to do grenade hopping with friends in old lan tournies for this. There's quite a few maps that can get your quite high and set up sniping zones.
I remember this was a pain in the ass to do in Halo Custom Edition because that netcode would make it so you bounce in the air like crazy because of the lag haha
Super jumps in Halo 2 multitplayer were always awesome. Exploring all the maps in campaign was another favorite past time. spent more time exploring than anything else.
I remember CTF games on Danget Canyons where you could clip through the wall separating red base and blue base by getting rammed by a friendly warthog. Then you'd just need to book it back to base from behind enemy lines with their flag.
@@genokugel I think in a weird way they do; it's delayed gratification taken to an extreme. Their joy is saved up for, bit by tiny bit, over hundreds of hours of grind, inching towards the result they want. I couldn't do it myself, and I think there are more efficient ways to get satisfaction, but they aren't joyless. They'd probably make good entrepreneurs, it requires the same grit.
Hey Garish, love your videos and live streams although I haven't caught one for a few months. I've recently just remembered from when i was younger and played halo, there was a skip I found but I could never do it again. On the level 'Halo' I believe on the first dropship after all the dialogue (the first time you see jackals), if you actually get into it, it skips the entire level and goes straight to T&R. I'm not saying this definitely works, just something that I remember doing when I was around 7 or 8. I was on PC so I don't know if it will work on MCC. Hope this helps with your speedruns :)
has anyone tried jump climbing atop drones in codm or creating an infinite explosion wall with 2 trophy hunters/shooters? Those things that intercept explosives, I haven't tried them vs missiles or I have and the explosions are bigger than their reach
