I see a lot of people have questions. I've responded to some but I'll pin this for clarification ONCE are kind of protective of TWICE in this matter because there was an issue back in 2018 where k-netz bashed MOMO, MINA, and SANA for speaking Japanese during their VLIVE. If you watch TWICE VLIVES, SANA often translates what she says to Korean when people asks about it or when she just wants to share what she said to Korean ONCEs. Maybe there really was a misunderstanding and the commenter just wanted to know what she was saying, but we won't really know what their intention is. I recommend people to just comment respectfully to the members so it won't raise any misunderstanding in the future. I hope this helps :) And please VOTE for TWICE on SMA!!! Thank you

The way that TWICE has clapped back against haters is something that should be encouraged, 100%. It's how they preserve mental health, and have the constant reinforcement that the bad comments will always be drowned out by the number of comments who support them.

@@powr_24 Sorry, but in Korean, the way that question was asked, it is definitely more on the rude side (closer to the feeling of "why the heck are you talking like this?"). Now, even saying that rudely does not a hater make, granted. But, given the background that Sana has been in trouble/controversy for posting about ANYTHING Japan (such as posting a congratulatory message when the Japanese dynasty had turned a few years ago), Sana + Japanese definitely has a deeper context than normal now, unfortunately.

The person said that Sana has been in controversy for anything to do with Japan. So that explains it. Don't spread rumors and bad mouth her with knowing what actually happened. I believe she's old enough to understand what's rude and visa versa.

Moreover, its also possible that said person said it multiple times. Sana was able to pick it out from the hundreds of comments per second, after all.

I felt the same way when a lot of knets attacked the J-line for speaking Japanese. like the little bit of Korean and Japanese I can understand came from years of watching anime and Kdramas; that's only 1% of my knowledge but you don't hear me complaining and telling them to speak English. if anything, I ask for someone else in the comment section of they can translate but if not, oh well 🤷 I just deal with it and wait until it's been subbed

"What are you saying" is often a rude phrase on Korean. Twice J-Line is super fluent in Korean they even forget Japanese words sometimes. They rarely get chance to talk in Japanese despite obviously having many Japanese fans and it's their mother tongue. She can't even speak in her native language for a bit in her own livestream without people complaining?

makes me think of all the times in Bang Chan’s vlives where people in the chat are telling him that they don’t understand what he’s saying when he’s speaking Korean and beg him to speak English. Like oh my word?? That’s so rude??? There are Korean and English speaking viewers, he’s currently talking to those that can speak Korean, if all you care about is understanding everything he’s saying then wait until they’ve subtitled the vlive. I really love this gen of girl groups that are more true to themselves and are able to speak their minds. I remember back when I went into kpop there were times when girl groups have to be super robotic and scripted when it comes to talking to fans, either due to the fans themselves treating the idols like their playthings or due to the companies imposing super restrictions on the idols.

@@suejunggg the only way to learn "fast" is being diligent with your studies and trying to keep yourself motivated, but there's no secret to learning, let alone to learn "fast/er", to learn Korean I'd suggest watching GO! Billy Korean, who's an American who's been learning since 2005 and has been teaching for like a decade, and also Talk To Me In Korean, with them you get the other perspective, the one from natives who are teaching their own language

They are incredibly difficult languages to learn if you are not in a similar speaking country already. I am learning Japanese, and I spend a lot of my free time on it, and frankly I am still crap after 4 months. Were I to split this time over Korean too? No way.

That's just ridiculous. I don't understand a word of what she says. I don't speak japanese or korean, only english and spanish. Why should i call her out for speaking her native language? I would be pissed if someone dared to call me out for speaking spanish, even if I am in a Country where its not spoken. I watch Twice's vlives without understanding a single word, because I love them, and i love to hear their voices. Clearly that person just wanted to annoy Sana. I am so glad to see that she is such a star on every level. Sana used that to give us an important lesson😉❤️

She's cute. Honestly I don't care if she speaks japanese or not but...I'm confused... didn't that person just asked what she was saying? I mean... wasn't it just a simple question because that person was curious of what she was saying? Just like when we watch an unsubtitled twice video and we ask in the comments what they are saying? It's not that bad right? I mean...maybe I just misunderstood that comment but like...why did she feel attacked? Someone explain.

I remember the days where we had to wait weeks for subtitles, but we never complained 🤣 nowadays you can just ask the comment section to translate for you.

i hope this doesn’t come off as hate towards Sana or anything, but i think simply asking what someone is saying isn’t really rude? i think it just shows that you have interest in what they’re saying. i mean it depends on how they asked, but just that simple question i feel doesn’t require so much defensiveness? like in chan’s lives if he says something in english and someone asks what he was saying, he simply repeats in korean. i get it’s annoying to do so, and sure, the fan definitely should’ve waited for the translation instead of wasting Sana’s time to make her repeat what she said. but she could’ve just said that it was a waste of time and moved on? idk man i feel it was a little ruthless. some ruthlessness is warranted, but that kinda reaction for someone simply asking what she said, not even telling her to stop speaking japanese or anything, is a bit uncalled for

The person was already harassing her before so it makes sense. "He would spam the comnent section saying "lift your shirt if you see my comment." "Stick out your tongue if you see my comment". If she spoke Japanese at all, he would say "I can't understand you" or "speak Korean." That's why she probably saw his comment before the others. He would just spam the comment section speaking nonsense."

@@53Memati53 By the way I appreciate you're trying to pass the message on to new viewers who were surprised about Sana's reaction! But it's impossible to convince everybody on the Internet, so please don't stress yourself out explaining to everybody like I did :) just let it be. Celebrities always have to deal with some haters or people who misunderstand. Her good track record of kind behavior speaks for itself though and anyone who's known Sana for a while would understand she's not a mean person. The uploader already pinned a comment asking everyone to be respectful, and I think that's the best way to go.

@@twiceonce7223 i wasn’t trying to be mean to Sana I didn’t know. If i had, i would’ve told this creep to f off. Sana is one of my favs and i know she isn’t a mean person, she’s very sweet and bubbly that’s the main reason why i love her, she’s so different than my personality lmao. but yeah, if i had known i would’ve had a different outlook. my initial statement still stands though, if in any context but this. in this situation, she was definitely being way nicer than she could’ve. thank you for taking time and explaining, i hadn’t seen your reply earlier! you really are a good samaritan!
