As a Kiwi I would have to agree, Hoops is the best Australian captain in Wallabies history, hopefully he decides to come spend a season or 2 over here in NZ for one of our Super Franchises, that would be something special.

@@jay.jl.6782 He's the best loose forward in the world (I'm a NZ'er btw) but he is definitely not the most successful captain in Wallabies history, if that's how you define 'best'? He has led some terrible Australian teams during his tenure as captain, yet he's consistently outperformed his teammates and opposition alike. He would have been an All Black for sure, if he was Kiwi.

No need to compare them, at the moment they are the top leaders in the rugby world. Only caveat is Ardie is a stand-in for a stand-in skipper. But maybe he shouldn't be? Fills the role nicely, much the same as Siya or Hoops, quietly leading from in front, direct and respectful with the refs and a lovely bloke with zero ego. Cane is the same but has to earn that jersey again. Whitelock is pretty much the opposite, a general who never stops barking commands, but also very effective. Best kind of problems for Kiwi coaches at the moment.

So happy for Hoops. Felt so bad for him all these years where he was giving everything he had for that jersey while being surrounded by a team that looked like they were playing in a Saturday morning footy league. Now he's got the coach and the team around him to back him up, he looks so much happier lol

Many of the Super Rugby/Tri nations guys are very close despite being from different countries. Probably because they study and play each other so often. My friends cousin was in the Wallabies and after the 2011 world cup he went on holiday to the US with some All blacks.

Mana in the haka should not be a criteria coz if you dorn the black jersey, you have to have it anyway ... and one having mana or not is just your opinion, something that can't be quantified. Captaincy depends and should depend only on your consistency and performance and ability to lead. Back to the original point, if you have made it to hold the holy grail of being an All Black, and you stand there proudly performing haha with all you got, then you have the mana, regardless of your ethnicity.

@@chrisza9782 Actually, they were informed about the picture only when they were back in Argentina and then, when confirmed that Montoya had no way to arrive on time due to the lack of international flights, the argies were told that the picture (and other marketing materials) was not going to take place without them. Only a few days ago they were surprised to see all the promotional material excluding their country!

I'm guessing hookers are the paramount position for captains. Since Richie, every nation now places alot of prominence around the flanker position. It's like last generations 1st five. Well down here in the SH it is anyway. #10 is still the rockstar position up north.

It’s pretty sad. I heard Ledesma’s response when asked about this and he sounded truly disappointed and sad. He said the “lost in translation” excuse he was given is just not true. His English is really good as well as many in the Pumas delegation

The 3 Captains of the 3 Best Rugby Teams in History, I say that because these 3 Teams have won the World Cup more than Once. I am a Hardcore All Blacks fan and I'm glad that the Springboks won and kept the World Cup in the Southern Hemisphere, although I wanted the All Black's to Win. England have won 1 world cup and often play the most boring rugby. Sir Clive calling Springboks boring, but in his tenure he was the most boring because the majority of their points rested on Johnny Wilkinson's boot.

Sir Clive Woodward coached the BILs tour to New Zealand in 2005. They recieved 3 zip test match hiding from the All Blacks. One of there worst tours in there history, all because of his boring tactics. He would have to be one of the worst, boring, over rated coaches of all time.

No need to hate on my country tho bruh we’re a very proud sporting nation and are proud of our history in rugby. I think teams play to there strengths to win, and if that classes them as “boring” then who cares? As long as they have the results to back it up it doesn’t matter.

@@MrZionforce No one here cares about what he ever has to say though, he’s not really a valid representation of what English fans think of the boks. I don’t think England or SA play massively exciting rugby at the best of times, but SA have definitely proven themselves to be more affective regardless. I’m pretty sure I saw a NZ headline call the boks “unfit, unskilled and demoralised” in the last couple days, should I therefore assume that’s what the AB’s think of SA ahead of tomorrow?

That's True Southern Hemisphere Rugga's people, it's the Spirit of the game. Reminds me of our Celebration song we use to sing in the changing rooms, sing along with me my fello Kiwi's All Black's is our name. And Rugby is our game. We play our hardest to the very end. We are never ashamed, koz we just play the game, no matter what the outcome may be........ We play the Ball not the Man....... As best as we can....... Ritchie taught us how to spin the ball,(Haka)to the backs to the backs "Tu ranga Te Ta" Ardie leads us proud, even thou there ain't no crowd We just play in the Spirit of the Game......
