I cannot possibly describe how amazing this is. Not only because it worked. But because there's someone out there who didn't qualify for the next round due to this specific thing. There's an entire ocean of salt out there just brooding in a garage somewhere and I love it.
Theres audio of this person as it happens, its the camera angle ith the radio shouting "outside!" the whole race was just a backdrop to these two's battle.
literally overtook and eliminated denny hamlin at the line, and not the first time those two have tangled on track still the guy will defend the playoff elimination format lmao
Kinda but not really, Earnhardt's "Pass" in the Grass, was really just saving his car and maintaining his position after Bill Elliott basically dumped him(If you wanna see Earnhardt REALLY pass someone through the grass, or rather dirt, he did it to Geoff Bodine in the 1987 Riverside race) Whereas here Chastain pulled an insane hyper aggressive move to pick up as many spots as possible
@@yasielescalona no I get that, but I mean right at the end after he passes the other cars it seems as though he’s not just hugging the wall but actively pushing into it (to slow down?). I don’t know anything about nascar but I’m curious.
@@theodom1858 the side of the car touches the wall but it doesn’t touch the wheel so it doesn’t slow him down as much. And he will slow down a lot more turning like everyone else compared to the wall turn
The Best thing is that the Driver said hes remembers doing that a lot in a Race Game back in the Days ( Dont know if it was Need For Speed) so he just did it in that Race. He just gave af about anything and did it xD
No literally, the on board computer shows right after someone told him he needs two points, his foot hit the floor, he threw it into 5th, and let up. Actually broke the speedometer after he hit 130.
@@deHExi He also had to let go of the steering wheel during the turn, as if he had moved it his wheels would have clipped the wall. Just an insane play.
Apparently the driver learned this trick on Nascar 2005 for the GameCube, he completely expected it to not work in real life, however, at the last lap he decided to do it just like he remembered in the game, and it actually worked
