UNREAL!! I'm learning this song because chemotherapy left me with the inability to play my guitar. I'm picking it up so I can still contribute to the band aside from vocals. You are very insightful! Best lesson I've seen so far :-)
Hey Bro, play that harp with all your heart. I have GBM. I had a Craniotomy. Radiation and Chemotherapy. You can play that no matter where. or when. I have 42 songs. athe Skill sets she's teaching is a big deal. TONGUE BLOCKING can be difficult at first. I have fat lips and use the fat of my lips to isolate holes. Try looking at fingerstyle guitar on RU-vid and play along. Find a favorite and have fun.
Holy smokes, Ahfoon, I'm touched and honored. Keep playing that harp,. It's good for your spirit my friend. Wishing much strength and healing ...much thanks and appreciation.
Great video - ! Yesterday I was listening to "When the Levee Breaks" for the first time in a while, and I cranked it up so loud that Robert's harmonica sounded like GODZILLA.
You are an excellent teacher because you suggest everybody figure out their own technique but you also give a baseline to go by excellent teaching method!!
What I wouldn't give to have half your talent. Even your impression of Charlie Musselwhite was perfect. Glad you're around. Great musician, great teacher. Is there anything you can't nail. Please keep teaching !🙂🍎
The first Zepparella song I found online was When the Levee breaks; and as Much as I love Gretchin's guitar work; it was your harp work that immediately hooked me in and said; Damn these ladies are just something very special; and you are. : ) BB.
Anna, I usually don't like cover bands but Zepparella is awesome. To take the challenge of Mastering the Music and vocals of the Greatest Rock Band in the World, it is amazing what the group Zepparella has achieved. I also play the Harmonica, Saxophone, Clarinet, Keyboard / Piano. I love the feeling of performing in front of a live audience. It has been forty six years since I have done that. I keep a Harmonica near my tool box in my garage. Sometimes I take a break from working on my cars & trucks and crank out a tune, just to relieve the stress. It works. Keep up the good work. Never stop playing.
I just want to say thank you. Taking the time to help me learn and enjoy the music that I love makes you my hero. When we share with others, we enrich our lives. OK, that sounds corny. I'm just so happy to make Led Zeppelin sounds with my mouth 8) Bless you Anna.
Shucks, many of us that have played harmonica for years have accidentally played one upside down. There is even a video of Sonny Boy Williamson 2 that did it. He just smiled , flipped it around and got into the tune he was playing. BTW Love you ladies and the way cool music you are putting out :)
Hi Anna, I like your intro better than the original, because the sound quality and the expression is awsome.Thank you very much, now I got the information that I need,so I can work with this amazing blues song.
Thanks girl I'm a drummer. But since all this distances is going on account of this c..19 learning to play a harmonica love this lesson.. thank you. Stay safe.
Legend has it that "Percy" Plant nicked Sonny Boy Williamson's harmonica from his dressing room at a concert in England back in the early 60's because he had told him to F-Off after asking for his autograph whilst in the men's washroom. And the rest is as they say, history...Great lesson even for seasoned players.
I really admire your professionalism Anna , You make that harmonica talk , My father was a good harmonica player and many times in my life I wish I had learnt from him, Thank you for producing some beautiful music and vocals .
Many, many years ago, thanking to Led Zeppelin, and, especially Mr Jimmy Page, I started learning how to play acoustic and electric guitar... And now, after watching a few videos of Zepparella's 'performances, I 'm very greatful to you, lovely miss Anna Kristina, for your incredible harp playing.... Perfect work! I' m totally amazed by this. Thank you, dear lady! This is the awesome teaching video. 🤝And a very good and clear explanation of the skills ! 🔥☺️👌🌹🌹🌹🤗🤗🤗
Best music instructional vid I've ever seen. A lot of pro tips in general, not just for this song. Should be required watching for anyone wanting to learn the French harp.
Re: playing upside down, on the Chess Little Walter compilation, 0:50 into "As Long As I Have You," the first note of his solo is draw 9, then he immediately jumps to draw 2, really an oddball riff, but suggesting he started upside down, and quickly flipped for the rest of the solo - masterfully incorporating a mistake that he controls to great effect. Never panic, act like it was all intentional, Rock On!
Love your band and this is one of my favourite songs after watching this I've just ordered a harmonica so gonna give it a go thanks for posting this 😁👍
Thanks for doing this video! I’m on the harp for about a month now and this is a great instructional video to help me grow. Also Thank You for keep Zeppelin music alive and live. I love the flavor women bring to music and would love to catch your show sometime. Keep rockin it!
Ricky A very easy " that's what she said " target. I wonder if she knows that Page reversed the reverb of the harmonica on the recording. Nevertheless, she knows her stuff.
Excellent video Anna. I’ve been playing harp since the mid 80s entirely self taught, and When the levee breaks was one of The songs I had to get down. Such a great song. ALL of what you say here, is spot on. Feel and time to practise is key for the harp. Your explanatory style here is perfect for any aspiring player. Thanks so much. X
Decided to play this song with my band and how great it is to be learning the guitar from Gretchen and the harmonica work from you Anna! One of my favorite Zepp bands.
Thanks a Milli to the legendary Zepparella(and Anna)! I'm grateful to ya'll for sharing your trade secrets in such an awesome format...This learning channel is far superior to other ways of learning...It's really neat to be able to start on a journey learning how to play a new instrument whilst immersing oneself in the education of THE ROCK-n-ROLL!!! Muchos gracias from the hair farming rock capital of the WORLD: western Washington state!
I've always had that thought in the back of my mind of picking up the harmonica it seems a little intimidating but like you said just keep practicing, thanks Anna
THANKS YOU SO MUCH GORGEOUS ! I COULD NOT FIND THIS INFORMATION IN NONE OF THE TEACHERS ON LINE OR SCHOOLS ... AS NONE OF THEM KNOWS THIS SONG ... ITS MY NUMBER 1 of ALL ....
Played harp in a blues/rock band a few years back, my bandolier holds 11 harps cuz, well you know, eleven. Anyway, this lesson was great and gives me another tune to break out on the Bb. Thanks for the tabs and tips,...rock on, y'all are so cool.
You are amazing! I love you girls for what you do, and I thank you for this tutorial. I'm about to by a harmonica set :) More tuto's and albums please!
Hey there Anna C .. I saw Zeppelin live at the Earls court London gigs .. in the 70's Im 64 & back then I had the long blonde curly hair .. but was a gtr player .. Plus I used to live in London & one day I saw Bob or Rubber plant as he was nicknamed & we were crossing the street from opposite directions in a crowd .. he instantly realised that I had recognised him & smiled & nodded & I did the same .. But anyway I wanted to thank you for your harmonica lesson .. really gr8 .. I started learning on my 60th birthday & I used tp practice while walking my collie dogs in the Forest where my wife & I live .. I stuck a bit of easy peel off electrical tape on the top with a fold where my 1st finger & the 4th hole would match up .. & I used to pretend I was working on a chain gang like a work song shuffle & experiment like that .. We have wild Boar in the Forest & it keeps them away .. my wife says it's because I am the biggest Bore in the Forest .. Lol .. But my 1st Harmonica lesson was from Sandi Thom a fellow Scot singer Songwriter .. who is brilliant talented gorgeous and was generously giving free harmonica lessons with that " it's easy try it " attitude .. Passing it on .. is to my mind the sign of a real musician .. I love the Band .. Have you seen sheryl Crows version of " Rock N Roll " when she stands on the Piano .. .. Thanks again for the harmonica tips .. Give my love to all the girls .. bye stay safe & stay strong
