You're doing a good job tin in taking good care of your mom. It is really hard to see them change from how they were. Treasure everything that they still can do. Including the tantrums and kakulitan.. because time will come that they won't be able to talk at all. I pray that our God will give you the strength to accept whats to come. It will be very painful and frustrating, but just like me, you will be ok. I never thought kakayanin ko. But with prayers, kinaya naman. Kahit nagpa psych pa ako bec of depression. 😉 God bless you and your mom!

Thank you Ms. Tin for putting up this vlog. My Mom is 99 going 100 this year and has dementia. We all have different stories of dementia and there are many crossroads we're gonna face in this journey. Just recently we have placed our Mom in a home care and this decision is another interesting phase of our journey and can be a very interesting topic to discuss. New subbie, relate ako with your Mama. My Dad had early onset of dementia he was about 65. Lagi nya gusto lumabas ng house. There came a time na natisod sya that lead him to unable to get up. He had regular physotherapy sessions pero hanggang sa ayaw ma nya. So somehow, nakatulong yung accident nya para di na luamabas ng house. He would really remember nung binata pa sya when he was living pa with his Mama. I miss my Dad, 😢 he's in heaven now. I love and miss you Dad ❤❤❤ Mahigpit na yakap sa yo Tin ❤
Yes, Ms. Tin enjoy all the time you have with your mom .... My step dad, whom I dearly love, is suffering from dementia. Praying to all families - sons and daughters. Relate po ako dito DHL caregiver ako sa Israel noon,. Mabait PA po aalagaan ang mama nio.. Ung alaga ko noon, hrp po paliguan.. Sa loob ng isang taon ay kasama ko anak magpaligo ksi nanakit.. Later on DNA na tutulog. D rin ako pinapa tulog.. Kya mabait PA po ung mama nio aalagaan..thanks for sharing po.. God bless po

My mother also died of dementia.it was very hard..but looking back,i thank God that she did not go in a painful way..all of us will go,when the time come,that is a fact. But i appreciate that it was not hard for her,…..it was hard for us yes….but not her. ….I prefer that as an exit point rather than cancer, that just a touch to skin is painful or other ways….that you see your love one in tremendous pain and is always on morphine shots and sleeping, and unable to communicate anymore due to too much pain. These are the cases that you prefer them to go already instead of them going thru the pain, it hurts you more. God bless you Tin, you are given time to spend with your mom and show her your love,though the memory comes and go, at least she is not in any physical pain. And that is a blessing🙏🏼

After I retired in 2022, I started taking care of my now 88-year old mother who had started showing signs of dementia. Medyo struggle talaga lalo na pag paulit-ulit yung tanong as in maya-maya, umaabot ng 10 times or more yung isang tanong niya na paulit-ulit. Tapos hindi siya sumusunod sa instructions, ginagawa niya kung ano yung gusto niya. I am continuously asking the Lord to give me more patience everyday because I really need it. Kaming dalawa lang sa bahay kaya very draining for me considering na senior na rin ako, I’m 67 yrs. old.
Hi Ms. Christine. Thank you for sharing your journey with your mom with dementia. When I saw the teaser of your episode 1 I know I really have to watch it. True enough i cried buckets of tears (even while writing this, my tears keep falling)when I watched it as it bought back memories of my lola who had dementia. Having someone you love go through this illness is difficult for the patient and also those living with them. I remember very well when the doctor told me and my aunt that lola indeed has dementia. When we were told that lola could not write the time na, I somewhat had a guilt feeling that how did I missed not knowing that she has difficulty in reading the time na. My tight hug to you and your family as I know it’s not easy to see that slowly our love one is taken away from us by this illness. Physically they are present but it seems they live in their own world that we will have to embrace just to be one with them. I wish I could meet your mom, comb her hair and play dolls as I never got to do that with my lola. ❤

yah never ever argue with patient who has dementia or else they get agitated. Go with the flow with her moods. We we have what we call TRAFFIC lights in dementia like red and green. Red once they are agressive and refusing so dont force give them space or you need to back off or stop.. but if their moods is good thats green so means GO or continue the assistance she needed.

Here in Australia miss Tintin we have a lot of demented resident or patient.. common here in Australia your mum has early onset dementia... just have long patience and always do redirection and reorientation just repeat repaet and remind ...

The key for family members and caregivers is NOT TO TAKE IT PERSONALLY whenever the patient's symptoms appear. It's not about you but the disease that takes over their minds.
That’s true! yung naging alaga namin pag may gusto siya at ayaw namin pumayag..Sasabihin niya Ingrata! 😂😂she’s mexican at 96 and passed already..Later hindi na makalulon I think 3x na na-Choke sa time ko imagine ni-blender ko na nga na-choke pa..Omg! naging violet na yung mukha at bibig niya..tatawag na sana ako ng 911..buti dinukot ko yung lalamunan niya at nakahinga na..delikado kc yung choking mamatay pag nawalan ng oxygen ang brain..Also, later hindi na rin sila marunong mag-popoo kc hindi na marunong mag-push ng popoo kaya mag-stuck na lang magkaron ng bowel obstructions and that is so bad.,Kahit anong laxatives hindi na tumatalab and that is so bad also taking it..At the beginning Ok pa yan nakakasagot pa But later talagang Wala na parang nagsasalita ka na lang sa hangin..Bale 15 years din siya tumagal..So sorry for you Ms. Christine..

With your permission, mas maganda kung you let your mother take time to answer your question. Wait for a while for her to answer before asking her another question.
