In the 2003-2004 season, the Pistons did not rely on a small number of star players, but instead built a team with a well-balanced force at each position. Rasheed Wallace, who joined the Pistons midway through the season, was the only star player on the team, and Wallace was the only one with an annual salary of more than $10 million. Karl Malone, who was transferred to the Lakers in hopes of winning their long-awaited championship, continued to suffer from injuries throughout the season, and was finally removed from the starting lineup in Game 5 of the Finals. With this loss, one of the strongest teams in league history, which had won three consecutive championships in the early 2000s, was disbanded.

Chauncey Billups underrated All Time PG. The years w/ Detroit, always in finals contention till he left. Then, Carmelo and Iverson couldn't do anything at Denver till Billups joined, they automatically went to conf finals. Monty doesn't know what he's doing. At the start of the season they looked ok. Duren looked like a potential all-defence candidate. Ausar is incredible defensively but isn't being allowed to play through his mistakes. Same thing with Ivey. He's chopping and changing his lineup too much and there's no flow in the team. He doesn't know his best team, which is not good enough at this point of the season

Can't agree more bro👍 Monty should look at Rockets how they rebuild the team. Need more fixed lineups not shaking things up. Young cornerstones need at least 30 minutes of playing time for experience. I believe their ceilings are higher than Rockets if they have a player like Jokic or Sengun.

the greatest defensive team ever. the work Prince did on Kobe and Ben Wallace did on Shaq is legendary. they made 2 top 10 all time players borderline irrelevant.

The games before flopping, complaining, exaggerating, "demonstrative frustration". With a natural rhythm and balanced offensive / defensive actions. Calm and sensible commentary. So um why it's no longer a thing?

Superstars who all players look up to don’t act/play this way, Since Kobe/KG/Duncan/Dirk retired the league got soft because of the emerging nice guys superstars. Hopefully with Giannis, Luka, Ja and Ant replacing the old dudes it’ll shift back a bit to those days

One thing I remember about this series is a prime Shaq not being able to bully Eldon Campbell. He could barely move him in the passing. I can't invasive how insanely strong Campbell must be.

Imagine if melo got drafted by detroit. They would get an elite offensive player that could carry them in stretches and they would make him into a dog who would actually play defense. He would have been one of the goats 😢

There is an interview with Ben Wallace floating around somewhere and he talked about how they didn’t want Melo because he would have messed with the team chemistry and it wouldn’t have been right to throw Prince to the side so Melo could come and be a showpony when they needed a DOG.
