Very important video for not just learners but also experienced drivers! Roundabouts are tricky for anyone. I guess you get more wise with experience. Thank you Shak for your videos. I’ve been learning since 2018 and I’m pleased to say I passed earlier this month with only 3 faults. It was my third test attempt and I had over 200 driving lessons and had 3 instructors (one retired and another cancelled one day before test day and I couldn’t even change the test date and had to cancel it without refund). I want to share this because I always see 1st time pass with only 20 hours but I rarely see comments which show perseverance so here’s a comment which shows exactly that. Good luck to all learners! Really useful thank you! I've never seen a keep clear sign on a roundabout before. Could I ask a question? If it is a big multi lane roundabout and there is a vehicle coming from the right which is in the inner lane, is it ever ok to pull out if I want the left hand lane for example? Thanks again.
Hello Kate. Thanks for commenting. NO NO NO - do not even think about it. Many learner driver fail for ulling out in the situation you mentioned. I wish i included that in the video
Thanks mate. I use Videopad by NCH. It cost about £40 one of payment and its there but you can only use of on that one device. If there is a software update, do not accept the update. If you do, you ill have to pay the fees again. I think that how they make there money
A helpful video thank you, I’m not a fan of larger more complex roundabouts as didn’t really cover those in my lessons. Since passing I’ve been going out practicing when quiet at first on a Sunday and then again in the week. Going to practice spiral roundabouts next week and have a friend going with me who’s an experienced driver. Only way I’ll gain more confidence is by driving more and going out of my comfort zone.

Nice that you had a keep clear in that last example, a busy roundabout near me has the exit and road closed where I'm joining for roadworks, so there is no blocker or pause in the flow of cars...most cars block the 2nd lane to turn right too when they're going straight and traffic isn't moving...drives me mad. Have to force yourself out otherwise you'll be there all day.
Sir at 2:53 like you said even if the van is pulled out you continue but is it same for driving test???? Or it should be absolutely clear to pull out? Similarly 5:22 you can see the right hand lane goes straight as well so in which circumstances we can use the right lane to go straight as well??? Because in this case it clearly saying going straight but using 12 o'clock rule we stick to right hand lane but where can we use it to go straight as well??? Thanks
Hello. So you did watch the whole video. At 2.53, test or no test, it's the same thing. However, you need to take your own ability into account. If you moved off slowly and forced the van driver to slow down, this could be marked as a mistake. If there are 2 lanes for going straight, as a general rule, you should take the left lane. However, if you were to turn right AFTER the roundabout, it would be easier to approach in the right lane hand lane if marked to go straight
@@dtc_uk sir I know as a general rule going straight if marked is always better to be on left hand lane, but my question is is it possible to go straight from right hand lane if market straight as well in that case we will enter the straight ahead from right hand lane rather from left hand lane??? Hi 👋 YES, you can go straight in the right hand lane, if marked, even in the test. However, you would only be in the hand hand lane for 1. Overtaking 2. If planning to turn right immediately after the roundabout
