When you plant them in April the trees grow short. Any other time and they become tall. I plant them all year round except January and February. October is my favorite time to plant.
@@ChidavAgriculturalHub living in St. Vincent and the Grenadines. I chose October because it's the rainy season. Plant in the rain and when it's harvesting time it's the rainy season again. So the plantains have a lot of weight.
@@ChidavAgriculturalHub ohk ohk. Different locations different weather. You're in the East.. I'm in the West. I do plant in April as well but I suffer a lot of losses due to thieves. The fact that the trees grow short here in the dry season it's easy for thieves to harvest the plantain without felling the tree. So when you think the plantains are there it's just empty trees. When the trees are tall they have to cut it to get the plantain. When they do someone or my dogs will see or here and alert me.

The method of weeding is dependent on the stage of growth of the plant. You have weed completely and ensure the plants are not in any direct competition with any other plant within the first 3-4 months after establishment. Then, you can then use slashers to get the field cleared once the canopy is fully formed
How to decompose manure, is dependent on you, you can either choose to leave it out to decompose or you can add some catalyst to make the decomposition faster
