I'm 8 months in, started with comb coils, not yet fully locked. Been washing my hair every week from day one, and due to my active lifestyle I decided to interlock, rather than retwist, every 6-8weeks. Love love your hair❤️❤️
I personally wash every two weeks. I have a slight scalp condition and that's about as long as I can go. I'm still in the beginning stages, so im sure it'll longer to lock. But im patient this time around. 🙂
Omg! Congratulations on your first month 😍😍💕💕🥳🥳 that’s so exciting!!!! Thanks for sending some love my way. Keep me posted on how your locs are doing 🎉
Awww you’re so brave and I’m so proud of you! It is my absolute pleasure! I absolutely love being inspired by people like you in this community. You all encourage me to keep going! It truly is a beautiful group of people 💖💖💖
You are right have to listen to your hair my scalp starts to itch at the one month mark in the winter it is weird in the summer I wash every 1 to 2 weeks
Hello I am a new subscriber I started my loc’s 4/7/21 n I have 4c hair n I wash my hair every 2-3 weeks because I have a scalp issue so I gotta wash it.. I am just working on my routine right now and all of y’all have helped me with developing one .... Sooo useful n thank u blessings n healthy loc’s 🤗😉
@@AlexisHarris January hopefully! I just big chopped from a relaxer after being natural for 6 years. I decided to relax last year instead of loc 🤦🏾♀️. So I have like 2-3inchs of hair that I’m working with now.
So I just went for a retwist today I've been 6 weeks locd, and to my surprise my loctician did NOT WASH my hair😮 she told me it's to soon and I told her other ppl wash there hair 2-4 weeks in, she said that's why their locs look crazy.. but she sprayed maybe some water or something on my hair to refreshing it..and then retwisted it I kinda was disappointed about not getting a wash 😢😢
I don’t know if you get this but washing your locs helps with the locing process. If you got coils then it’s recommended to wait 6 weeks. If you got 2 strand twists, then you can wash as much as you want. 😂. Wash your hair regardless. If it unravels, retwist and pin it. Water is your hair best friend. Think of your hair as a plant. It needs watering.
I got my first wash and Retwist 6 weeks after I started my loc Journey. So refreshing and felt amazing. I usually wait 4-6 weeks for a wash and Retwist . #Team4C
Hi gorgeous. First your locs are looking really good and thick for 5 1/2 months. Me I wash my locs every 4 weeks. Locs need to be on a regular routine. So mine hit the water at least every 4 weeks. Water is our locs best friend. Enjoy your new home and DIY projects.
Hello beautiful! It’s always great to hear from you. Thanks for the love and well wishes! I agree with you. Water is our best friend LOL! It’s pretty cool to see we have the same timeframe for washing our locs 😍 have a great week!!!!
I didn’t intend on washing my starter locs so soon but I put black castor oil on my scalp and it got my two strand twists very oily. I hate oily hair. As a loose natural I didn’t do oil so this is the worst feeling. So after three weeks I washed my hair with a stocking cap on. Yuk.
I locked sumone dreads up recently and didn't have nothing but coconut oil mixed with Shea butter so I started twisting it with that in a two strand twist but after jus a week he wanted them washed and retwisted so we took them out then I washed it and they totally unraveled luckily the parts were still there tho but I feel lik it was way too early cuz all his dreads came out pretty much the back ones kept in tho so I feel lik I did sumthin wrong
I got free forms I been having dem for about a year , a lil over year, and I wash mine ushuly every 3 weeks, like wen I see alotta build up r flakes , are If i fill itchy and I work out every day after work so ... but dope vid 💙
Heyy....I washed mine two weeks in and I didn't separate the roots properly and didn't retwist... that was the worst idea yet...I often wonder if they'd look different if I had waited because I think it messed up the structure a little bit..because separating pulled hair that already started matting out of the different sections to regain the parts ...but I'm 3 months in now so shoulda woulda coulda time has long expired...I wash my hair and immediately retwist every 4 weeks now...I love the tips and advice..definitely gotta figure your hair out....nice video..take care
I just want to say first off I love your channel, you have a nice energy to you. Second, I just started my channel like a few days ago (hence the 2 videos) but I don’t have many subscribers or views. I was wondering when did you start to notice your views going up and what do you think contributed to that? Also do you have any tips for new youtubers? Thanks in advance ❤️
Hey beautiful! Thanks so much for the love and support. Congratulations on your new channel!!! I am happy you asked this question because it took many months for me to notice my views going up… Almost a year actually. I would recommend planning out your content and sticking to a consistent schedule as much as possible. Remember to have fun with it and make videos that people want to see 😍🥳 reply to everyone who comments and build relationships with your viewers. Ask them what questions they have for you and make videos that respond to the needs of your viewers. I hope this helps! I actually plan to produce a small series on how I make videos and grow my channel. Cheers to a beautiful journey for you!
I noticed my scalp is itchy and gets dirty easily so i spray water on it daily, i started with 2 strand twist and i hv 4c/b hair, when do u think i should wash them every 2 weeks or a month like most ppl do?
Been watching all the videos just haven’t commented in a while but if you start with 2 strand twist can you style them the same day you get them or should you wait till maybe your first retwist since they’ll be a lil formed
Great question! And awww thanks so much for tuning in every week. I wouldn’t style them the same day (but that’s just my opinion). You can style them, but they may unravel a bit since they aren’t formed at all. The less manipulation the better! Especially in the beginning 😊💕 I hope this helps!!! Thanks for being in this community!!!
I had to re start my locs but the two strand twist kept trying to make two out the one twist and near my neck wouldn't stay twisted so im going to add locs tho my own hair and instead loc so when do u wash them
Great question! The locs actually do not unravel much anymore. I haven’t really had any noticeable unraveling recently! My loctician may notice some when she washes my locs but I don’t think there’s much (if any) 😍😊
I washed for the first time at 3 weeks, now I wash weekly! I follow Ingrid Hart here on RU-vid, ❤️❤️❤️ her hair vids so much. She’s a great resource if you want organic, semi-freeform locs. Check her out. Your hair is coming along nicely BTW 👍🏽
