He didnt want to be coached, he wanted to be "validated" by a pro who he admires. Ego. Thats prob why he doesnt play ranked, can't take getting humbled by randoms.
Ego can be blinding. If you call yourself a player at the level of "tekken king" and are not that rank, you are only looking for validation from someone higher in rank. Says he has a crisp backdash (sidesteps after every backdash). Says he doesnt use strings (relies on df1,1 pretty often which gets ducked at higher levels than he thinks he is. Then there's d1,2 that is launch on block). Whiffs often with a character he should know the movelist with. That's to name a few without nitpicking his mistakes. He tried finding validation in his play, thinking he knows enough to get his "deserved" rank, only to get the mistakes he chooses to ignore slap him in the face. Dont be like him. Stay open to criticism, stay open to different idea's, stay open to changing how you play. And i say this as a tekken king (plot twist).
@@fightinggm nah but fr love the reactions of other players and you offering up tips to them, also helps out everyone else with your insight keep doing what you do
Crisp KBD is insane you can see he was consistently sidestepping or backswaysing when trying to do KBD at 3:45, 4:56, 6:05, 7:11, 8:27, 9:31, 11:00 the audacity to confidently say that shit and claiming to be TK level is crazy gtfoh.
Dawg, I'm not a great Tekken player at all but I've improved tremendously from where I was in 2018 (when I started playing T7) because of tips and getting my ass whooped by you and Ltrainlocomotive. I needed the cold hard truth on why I was trash, every great player from you to Arslan Ash needed that reality check when you all were starting to play Tekken. You would always credit me on having good fundamentals and I always appreciated that. I only got that way because of the countless whoopings I received from you and other high level players. These soft ass dudes will never get good, you were HELLA tame when you were coaching him. A lot of OG's would've straight up called him trash. I was never apart of the offline scene back in the day. I'm sure coaching was brutal back then especially with dudes in REAL TIME calling you trash and talking shit right in front of you. Players these days have NO IDEA how good they got it. Combo breakdowns, character breakdowns, amazing replay mode in T8, in-game frame data, the ability to watch pro streamers and learn from people without having to go outside. You OG's would've killed to have that coming up so it's crazy when I see dudes like him who would rather live in delusion than accept reality and strive to get better at the game. On top of that, he decides to be incredibly disrespectful even tho you were very polite throughout the entire session. Insane.
@@fightinggm For sure bro, most players of your skill level are snobs and only play within their own cliques. You've always been a real dude who is willing to help anyone no matter what skill level they are. That's very rare to see in this community. Much respect to you dawg!
Actually, the very first backdash of the set (after blocking the hms+3) was technically a KBD, but it was cancelled way too early so the first dash was tiny :) So he prolly spent some time on practicing KBD and he's butthurt that it doesn't show. However, the interaction could've been handled better on both ends, because the advice you gave him was quite vague. I wouldn't know what to take from "dude u playin mad stringy lol" either. He attempted to do d+1,2 as a (bad) CH confirm, then he did ff+2:1 once, df+1,1 once and then d+1charge2 at the wall over the course of a bunch of games. df+1 backsway cancel may be too Paul-specific to ask a coach about, but it's definitely not a string. Just "Work on your backdash cancelling" doesn't really help either since he's already doing that (it's just not showing yet). So yeah, neither of you acknowledged what the other was saying and you're both mad because of it. What I would've told him: - Make sure your KBD is functional (not just a backdash cancelled at any point) and don't cut corners when you should be using it. - Use movement with more purpose - to create or close distance. The same applies for lateral movement. - If you really like df+1 into backsway, practice and internalize all of its options and functionalities. - Don't forget to watch how your opponent moves --> Make sure not to whiff, especially against defensive players.
I wasn't mad. He has no fundamentals so he has to work on fundamentals. It wasn't a metafy lesson. He got tips and got mad cause I didn't say he was godlike
@@fightinggmYea, that's a very good point - he probably expected at least some praise, which is not something you should expect automatically. So maybe that was the lesson he needed. Then again, in this video you just slag him off the whole time in a pretty hyperbolic way, that's why I assumed you're a bit upset about it as well (at very least because it could've been a much more pleasant and productive experience)
@@fightinggm Oh come on, you can't be saying that with a straight face! This video is the least constructive thing I've ever seen. He makes a mistake once and you go "See? He's bad at this too!" and when something works for him, you go "That was pretty good, but I think it was just a fluke..." All that to make the impression that he deserves zero praise just so you can make your final point (Don't automatically expect praise, especially from a coach), which - ironically - stands completely fine on its own merit...
Bro was definitely in his feelings getting completely schooled 😂, dont ask for advice if you can't take constructive criticism... Simple as that, especially when it's a blue rank fighting a god of destruction
I agree with someone else who said you were too vague with your feedback. It came across as dismissive, like you were eager to move past it. His reaction was over the top and I get this wasn’t paid coaching, but if you accept something like this it’s best to over-deliver so they can’t complain.
I see both sides. Frustration with coaching can come from someone telling you something you feel you already know you need to improve/are working on (he was probably working on movement which is why he thought his BDC was crispy. He might have come a long way from where he was). I think bro expected the metafy coaching product from your session and didn't get that. He had ego, because all he had to do was ask for clarification on what you were talking about. Most of this honestly seems like a communication issue.
@@fightinggmas a twitch streamer you should never take for granted however anyone supports you. This guy apparently gave you a sub and saying, "its only a prime sub" is pretty disgusting, and anyone thats further looking to support you on twitch will hopefully see this. I watched the video again and paid attention to everything without your bias, and both of you are wrong. He was wrong for going off on you, and you were wrong for shrugging his set off, and giving him vague advice after bro sent you a specific issue to work on. You also told him in the discord message to side step lee left, and then made fun of him in the video for using your information, saying that he " keeps stepping to Lees strong side". I found the last part quite strange.
@@davidf9222 @davidf9222 u just tryna start drama like weirdo . He was stepping lee the wrong way dude and no my twitch audience isn't as dumb as some of u youtube guys
@@fightinggm ay bro, I respect you and watch all your shit. Theres clearly two sides to every story. But putting him on blast for being upset with the situation is kinda wild. He was probably scouting for a coach to pay for since he mentioned money in the message and was hoping youd fit his bill.
Man that shits disrespectful, weird ass behavior. I hope you keep coaching subs, I got as much to work on as this guy does but I’d take the feedback and not cry. Respect for doing it without charging extra
you have to be very patient as a coach like veryyyyyyyyyy patient , because u will encounter many people like this one but most people are honest about their skill level and accept criticism
online warriors getting exposed for having no fundamentals. drop the ego, we're not all as good as we think. best way to improve is to always be curious and willing to learn new things.
I really don't think he wanted any coaching. It sounds like that dude needed some validation from you so he could tell his friends you told him he was actually good lol 😂.
Dude asked for coaching and instead of asking for replay analysis he wants to get bodied instead. Then he cries that he didn't get anything out of it because what he really wanted was a chance to say he took a round off GM.
That dude was definitely not tekken king level for sure...just work on your game, take the criticism straight and that's how you improve. Also that's a great thumbnail GM lol
There was nothing constructive about politely telling dude "get good". He tried to describe his playstyle to you in that huge first message. "CH and timing based", he doesn't understand the timing part of the game because he doesn't know frames, so he was fishing for CHs blindly throwing everything out and "being stringy". He also asked about Lee specific strats before y'all even played because he gets "abused" by Lee. Your advice? SSL, block, and punish. You honestly could've saved him time and just said to go to practice mode or watch replays. But I get it, content is content. 🤷♂️
How is SSL, and block/punish not good advice? gm explained that to beat Lee's to you need to step to his weak-side, which is his left. This might be novel information to someone who doesn't know the match up. Also, its good advice to tell someone to hit the lab, because sometimes thats their biggest problem. What would an example even be of more specific advice? Sit there and explain frame data to him? Thats a horrible use of everyone's time. If someone is too lazy to use the replay feature and training mode for labbing then coaching cannot help them. They are beyond help.
@gorguts6667 Because it's fundamentals, which as established, he didn't have. But he hit him with that response, not as feedback but as a response to "are there any specific things I should look for?" before they even played. Totally negating the set and what followed. Also, no, I'm not saying deep dive into frames, but he could have at least said like 3-5 moves most Lee players "abuse" to try to give him an idea of what to look for. But GM took it (as said in the video) as "Why are you trying to beat the coach?" If telling him a few Lee specific moves to watch for (and going to lab those moves, or even strings) would suddenly make him that much better, then wouldn't that be sufficient coaching? The word coach is thrown around all over this video and the comments but it wasn't "GMs form of coaching, it was feedback" because dude gave him a prime sub instead of a paypal. That's like going to Walmart and buying "Great Value Coaching".
He could of booked a coaching session then, but he didn't, he asked for a match and some general feedback. Not a 2 hour replay analysis. This dude just wanted to flex.
That guy thought he was really good, which is why he got so salty when your feedback was simple. Basically, his fundamentals are bad. He was hoping there was some secret sauce like the cherry on top was all he was missing, but you told him to work on the sundae. He has an ego, hence the Tekken King bs self-assessment, so he wanted you to gas him up smh. Your delivery may be direct and raw, but there’s nothing inherently wrong with that. Your Miirio videos are proof you’re really talented at coaching!
yo gm, I feel like he has a warped sense of skill level because like he said, he doesnt play ranked, maybe he won against a couple tekken kings in quick match not understanding that people use quick match as practice mode after downtime or to practice a new juggle or strategy against ppl better than cpu and not to sweat
He clearly wasn't seeking coaching. It seems more to me he sought validation for his style and approach to playing Paul, or generally the game overall. Without even watching the games, from what he wrote in the chat was indicative of his intentions. When seeking coaching, you're literally asking someone for their perspective because clearly what you're doing isn't creating the results or success you want. Lot of these dudes are the same guys that would love and pray on their knees for a Kobe or Lebron to coach them in ball, but would cry and say they're this and that just because their self-image is low and fail to accept criticism. Success is on the deepest edge of failure.. if you aren't willing to fail and learn how to grow from it then you don't deserve to be great or among the ones you admire. GGs GM.
yo gm this the reason why i stay in practice mode so much a lot of the stuff you was explaining to the guy was real shit about back dash an his punishment an side walking all that etc was the right thing to say to him if bro can’t take the heat get out of the kitchen i stay in practice mode every day trying to work on my back dash an side walking an stepping certain characters an frames an whiff punishment even though im a fujin i don’t care about ranked i just wanna learn an love the thumbnail its fire my g stay blessed
He let his rank get to his head that’s why he’s not improving. Playing with your meat out can only get you so far. He should’ve just took the great advice you gave him , utilize the replay function Bandai gave us and actual go in practice mode and lab stuff out.
Dude is purple ranks posing as blue. Tekken is a REAL GAME with a REAL CHALLENGE that you can’t blame anyone for but yourself when you come up short. Tekken is not for the pusillanimous
I get why he is offended, his frustration is misplaced. He is mad at himself because he was told he has a lot to go and he thought he was better than that. I say this because I was kinda depressed when you watched my matches and critiqued me the way you did, but I knew that it wasn't worth taking that personally and that I genuinely have a lot to work on as a tekken player. He feels like you aren't giving good advice because you pointed out a lot of ways he needed to improve at once and summarized it in a way that made it seem like you wrote him off or something. This is just me mirroring what I felt when I asked for match critques and even though I needed to hear that I have a lot of ways to grow, it's a little disheartening to know you have to work on a lot more than you thought
With a close-minded approach like that he’ll never grow…. Regardless if it’s in game, business, or most aspects of life. Interesting perspective and good on you for trying to help people out for only subbing. You’ve earned a new sub!
Gets blown up for having predictable responses, bad movement and using strings over and over with Paul- then immediately gets mad when you tell him, hey don’t do that 😂
Paul players smfh....that dude is a whole weirdo, you don't even need private lessons this isn't like playing piano, all the information you will ever need is already available you just need to do your research, improving at tekken is about doing research, you can't pay someone to make you good at the game you have to do that shit yourself. and you can tell if you're playing stupid by simply watching how other people use your character and compare their results to yours , you can literally improve at the game by spectating, i swear this shit alone has helped me go from a complete noob to experienced player
A good 80% if of the dudes i tried to teach end up like this. And do it for free!. And truly I've gotten to the point asking myself why i don't start charging. Especially if it just ends up in a waste of time. And me ending up being the bad guy. Like..wtf. i go to the trouble of providing resources, advice, games,my time and all i get is bs and no commitment. Lol
People are sensitive but I also think your coaching needs some work because it sure isn't perfect, a lot of the advice comes off as generic "work on this" without ever elaborating on the specifics which can be annoying if I knew I paid 50 for that.
My man's. HE didn't pay he subbed using Amazon prime lmao. I'm not gonna give someone a full 1 hour break down on a sub. If he wanted more he could do real coaching. U obviously don't watch my player reaction videos if u think my coaching is like that.
I wonder if this person ever got coached irl. Take the 'L' and learn don't let your ego get in the way. I wish I had a skilled coach showing me the holes in my gameplay cause I don't have the knowledge to pick this stuff up simply by grinding matches.
The bit about his backdash being crisp was completely delusional but honestly, you did give very little advice for 30$ worth of coaching. Even if you have the mindset that players should lab the character for themselves, you should at the very least have provided the dude with more specific advice to either his character or how to fight lee. Unless you did this free of charge, you gave very general advice and were pretty disengaged as a paid coach. No hate on my end, just some criticism.
U obviously didn't watch the whole video. He didn't pay 30 bucks for 1 hour of coaching. He used a prime sub, got some sets and some coaching . If u look at my other coaching videos u will see the difference
@@fightinggm You're right I did not watch the last few minutes when commenting. My bad for doing that, but you gotta put that info out at the beginning of the video to avoid misunderstandings like that. Again, this is not really hate. I learned a lot from watching your videos and I know you can be a great coach, which is why I made the initial comment.
I’m genuinely looking for some advice or coaching from you, I need criticism and would love it. Just hit me back when free 🤞🏼 I’ve seen all your videos since tekken 8 (my first tekken and I’m bushin right now) your videos alone are what got me there but I know if we played you could up my game even more.
You kept it 💯 throughout this whole vid and still gave this dude mad good advice lol some people really need to take a step back if you wanna get better at anything you gotta be able to take some criticism. nobody’s perfect 🤙
paul needs to do hard read using hopkick / evasive move, playing honest with small standard sidestep timing is not enough against tekken king, tekken 7 already has lot cheap stuff now in tekken 8. I mean im pretty sure he complain about paul being sucks, but better paul player can reach even GodZ ... i wonder why
He said it was okay for you to use the footage for a RU-vid video, maybe he hoped to do amazing against you and that you would be impressed by him so he could humble brag after it.
so tekken coaching is just paying someone to kick your ass in tekken ? LOL these people are hopeless🤦♂..if you don't even know how to improve at the game by yourself and you think paying someone to think for you will help you then you are truly lost and hopeless
@@fightinggm i know you play paul - i am just saying he would know the matchup - its kinda hard for him to get coaching if he doesnt really know the match up
Nah, this mf goofy as shit. You are one of the only dudes at the pro level even takin the time out to run games/sets just for a sub. That alone is dope of you. This dude just had a real high opinion of himself (crisp backdash 🤣🤣🤣) n felt a way when you humbled him. Keep doin what you do bro. There's hella weirdos out there that just wanna namedrop n say "I trained with x player, so I must be nice at the game" or stuff like that. If you humble enough to ask somebody for advice, be humble enough to take the advice
he told him he needs better movement, needs to know how to use frames, needs to stop running into moves, needs to learn how to punish, needs to respect +frames, ect. dude was just mediocre at everything and isn't as good as he thinks he is.
You didnt watch the video. The dude did not pay for coaching. He was a sub to the channel and got some matches and advice. This wasnt an actual paid coaching session.
GM told him the sky is blue but the Paul player isn't smart enough to know these things so GM had to spell it out to him. Paul player made it to blue ranks just by being random unga bunga mashing buttons. Yeah GM is going to tell him the basics & the obvious crap.
