Everyone wants to know when will I be ready to step in I'll be ready to step into the ring, well the answer is different well the answer is different from everyone here's my take!!
I gassed out within the first 30 seconds. Things they don’t tell you. Couldn’t keep eyes up either, Got dropped with a stomach punch that wasn’t even hard. First spar really hits your ego hard
@@Nigerian_Super_Saiyan nice record man! Keep going and dont let people tell you what you can and what not, and droping all that weight being 5'6 was hard? I mean lot of weight you went from obesse to underweight or?
@@Boredtube2024 I was pretty big for my height. I think the maximum weight for someone my height is 155. I believe the lowest is 115. But I'm perfect where I am now. It wasn't hard physically, it was more of a mental challenge. For example; I always trained with the advanced fighters in my gym and whenever we ran, I would always come in dead last. And don't get me started on our sparring sessions🤣 Those guys used to destroy me but now I'm almost as good as them.
@@Nigerian_Super_Saiyan facts, thats what this sport its about train hwrd and become better with every new training, and i fell that drop kore than 30 lbs is hard, or it would be for me im 5'6 as well man and keep my weight always in 145lbs-153lbs, im fighting at welter weight and once i fought 1 time only at light weight but dropping 10 lbs for the fight made me feel so weak i cant imagine dropping more than 30 lbs, hope you can get where you want man, repsect!
😢 1st spar last week. Footwork went out the window i was in for a fight. Got rocked alot tho and woke up with a headache next day but i did enjoy it. Now i know what to work on defense and movement. My fitness is good just focusing on perfecting the fundamentals.
Basically what you described kind of happened to me. I joined a boxing club recently and literally off the bat they made us spar. Luckily, I have natural advantages like height, reach and athleticism so I could hold my own but I didn't feel like I was learning anything because I had no real skills committed to memory besides my long ass jab lol. Even basic things like keeping hands up were easy to forget. So I decided to fall back and and instead I am focusing on learning the skills properly starting from footwork etc before I spar. Great vid as always! You deserve more views bro.
@@juk1107Yeah it does seem that way. They literally put me against some semi amateur who was smaller than me but had 10 years boxing experience 😂 Not only that we werent even told to wear headguards. Granted he didnt go 100% hard on me, but still I had no real business being in the ring with him yet.
In my experience yes, but you need to drill it with someone else. I used to learn the basic by my self for about a year. When i join the gym, i found out that half the stuff i learn does not work. And now it becomes bad habits coz my body is used to it.. so, not all moves on youtube works.. you need to find moves for your bodytype and drill it with some1 not the bag everytime
First one is the thing for me. I could only last 15 seconds dodging punches and moving around throwing a jab. And this is the only time i looked good lol. Then i gassed out and was surviving till the end of the gym session. Did not learn nothing except for realization that being in shape is very important. Currently working on endurance. Hope to be a machine in a couple of months :D
I am 60 and started boxing a couple of months ago. Much to my surprise really enjoy it. Except perhaps for the sparring. I’ve been sparring a couple of times. and I always get the ‘deer in the headlights’ feeling. Luckily, my sparring partners have been very considerate. I guess I’ll just have to keep working on the fundamentals. Thanks for the video, I found it inspirational.
I never got dropped thanks to experienced opponent but I went against someone as my level and we went 3 rounds I gassed out first on the third round and couldn’t keep going at 1 minute on the 3rd round
Absolutely brother actually competing is a whole different level of commitment that is not necessary. First things first. Just learn the basics and get some comprehension of the work out. Take a look at my course. When you get a moment it’ll teach you everything from A-to-Z⬇️ Coachvboxing.com
After school backyard boxing is What lead me to a boxing gym in the first place. First time I ever went into a ring with someone who actually knew how to box my nose exploded all over the ring, blood gusher style. I would’ve been 17 sparring a 14 year old who had been doing it for probably 5 years. Good times. 31 now.
I been in boxing gym for 2 months in these 2 months my couch dose not teach me how to doge a punch how to footwork and how to punch correctly and other day couch matche us an we had a sparing with bunch of guys that are have way more experience than me and i got beat up what should i do should i change my gym or all couches like this ?!!
Me mostly frustrated about failing sparring. Doubt should take years for sparring to start. Problem is slow reaction time and can't aim punches in sparring
My first sparring session I took a body shot, finished the round out of fear of looking like a bitch if I stopped there but then immediately ran to the bathroom after to throw up lmao
I just had my first sparring session with people who know what they’re doing last night. First round got my nose busted, went to the bathroom to clean it up, got back in there, took a punch to the floating ribs on my back, went down, got back up and kept sparring then went for another round and the guy tagged me twice in that same spot again on my rib. Just about finished the round but I think my rib is broken. Very hard to breathe or get up off the couch.
im a beginner and i dont plan to compete but i do want this to improve my self defense if im going to be doing it, do i need to spar to get good in general or no?
I have been doing it for 5 years and still told not ready to spar. What does this mean. Took me two years to learn a jab. Should it take that long to learn one punch. Or if it's the wrong gym for me. Frustrating still waiting for my first good experience
@@coachv3436 I have a good question for you Coach . So I'm like over 200 pounds but I weighed like 270 something how much weight that I need to lose to be in good damn shape to spar?
I got knocked out my first sparring session, it was only for a second and I fell on the ropes then got up and finished the round but I got a concussion. My opponent had 8 years but was abt 10-15 pounds smaller then me. It was abt 3 months after I started training and its been abt 3 months since, I'm starting back on sparing in abt a month but im not ganna lie im pretty terrified. I'm ganna ask my opponents for light sparring but its still scary. Not ganna lie though when you said a lot of people quit after not that bad of a sparring session i felt better bc for the past 3 months ive felt like a total pussy and am ashamed and embarrassed every time I go but I haven't quit so.
I was able to get 2 shots too his temple and one to the liver and I think it made him angry bc after that he decided that it was my time to learn the hard way 😂
They put you in with a guy who had 8 years and let him tee off on you? If so, that's not a good gym. You need to leave and find a place that will teach you the fundamentals properly.
Huge. I learnt early on that if ur gonna fight in the street for what I’m assuming is self defence reasons. Ur gonna wanna train MMA or a combination of boxing and wrestling at a minimum. I’m alright at boxing and fighting but if u run into someone who knows how to double leg you and u got no takedown defence? It’s over
I started kickboxing 3 months ago, and am switching into beginning everything I need to do for MMA Muay Thai jiu jitsu etc and I do my first sparring session im 2 weeks- im sooo afraid to embarrass myself but I also don’t even care im just excited!! Loved this video and needed the Motivation.
Is 30 too old to begin boxing as far as pro I been fighting and doing martial arts. Most people don't believe I'm 30 wen I tell them I feel more like 25
