I live in he South, and there’s “white neighborhoods” and “black neighborhoods”. I had a weird experience this week. A black woman came to our door (she was here with contracts my husband and I had to sign) and it looked like she was scared of us and bracing for impact. As we talked, she got more relaxed, she admitted she was didn’t realize she was coming so far out. She was nervous about how we would be or would act. I literally never experienced a black person being afraid of me like that. (I’m small and obviously harmless). Once we talked, she was calm and friendly and relaxed. I wish there wasn’t so much division. If there wasn’t, people wouldn’t be scared to go in different neighborhoods and expecting the people to be hostile.

I have been wearing my MAGA hat since 2016. I buy multiple a year and toss them as they get gross. Trump is my homie. You come here illegally…have a baby. Tax payers pay the bill…baby now qualifies for Medicaid, food stamps and other benefits. Many work under the table and don’t pay taxes. We pay for interpreters, hospitals write off the expenses and increase the cost of healthcare. It goes much deeper than jobs….and this is only the beginning. We are paying people to house teens that come here. Each person here illegally costs the system upwards in the millions. Yet you have people who have been waiting years to come here legally. We have elderly, disabled and Vets who don’t qualify for what we are giving illegal immigrants. This isn’t one of my favorites..but that’s ok! Thanks for covering this!

The way I think about it is we are North American.. 1 year late to seeing this reaction, but have to say.... I stumbled onto Tom a few months ago.. about the time RIOT released. The first song of his i heard was Scars... after crying like a baby for 2 hours as that song released a few decades worth of held in emotions/frustration/ect (yup, grew up in the 'men dont cry days'), i ended up binging his songs on Amazon.. and purchased damn near all of them. White Trash has essentially become my "theme song" of sorts. Just as with Scars, White Trash feels like being 'seen'. And what he states in the song is true. "call us white trash like we care, but we dont". We were raised to understand that words quite literally mean nothing unless we LET them mean something.. and we were also raised to quite literally not give a $!@#$ about anything that makes anyone an individual (ie: hair color, eye color, skin color ect). We only care about 1 single thing. How you act. It really is that simple. We are those people with a "heart made of gold" that will be kind to everyone, until you give us a reason not to be.
