personally, I think it is okay to talk about how you're struggling with your 4c hair but instead of using a title like 'My 4c hair is a curse' I think something like 'my journey to discover how to care of my hair' or ' learning to love my hair' would better. that type of title would set a peaceful tone to the video, it would help a person to realize that they can learn to love their hair just the way that is: without feeling like they can't express how they are struggling with taking care of their hair or learning to love their hair. (i hope this comment makes sense)
It makes perfect sense😊 I agree that people need to open up about their struggles and not pretend that everything is okay or they don’t deal with any self esteem issues. I think it becomes a problem when someone is constantly talking down on themselves and not trying to learn and that’s where I give her a lot of credit because she said she is talking to a specialist to help her in her journey.
Yes! I have family members who have locs and have made it clear that they don’t feel like having to manage their afros and locs were the best decision ever 😊
4c hair inst fun at all detangaling, money and i dont have that much time i have stuff to do especially to do braid you have to keep your hands up for a good amount of time with can hurt and if it get messed up do it over not only that washing brushing you have to mke it tight or its game over it hurt and sometimes i just want the feeling of doing a normal everday bun without struggling i dont like when people tell its not that hard take care of it just because you can does not mean that i can, i try to grow my hair nd put braids so they can last and its depressing honestly
I am so sorry you feel that way and it is important that you know your feelings are valid. With that being said I do want to reiterate this point: There are a plethora of videos on RU-vid that help make your journey easier and help you understand your hair and see it for the beauty that it is. And also every type of hair has its “struggles” it’s not just ours. The problem with some of us is that we have been conditioned to believe our hair is worse and more difficult than others which isnt true. Loving your hair will take time it’s not a one day process but eventually you will get to a point where you start appreciating how beautiful it looks on you.
