When Will You Quit?

Most people don't realize there is a time when you need to quit pushing to be a business owner if things are not working out for you. There is also a time to quit growing your business if it starts to pull you away from the very reason why you started a business in the first place. This is just my way of reminding everyone to use self awareness as you move forward with business. There is no 'one way' proven path to go, and ultimately it is not right or wrong if you fail or success in running your own business. Make sure whatever you are doing is making you happy! (PS helping you all through these videos is what makes me happy, I hope you enjoy!)

(hit wrong button) You must decide whether you want the freedom to make your own way into the unknown is worth the pain that CAN come with it or not? That little transmission deal I just mentioned really happened, and I got it done, and got my load picked up on time, and stayed in business for another 18yrs. I still drive, but I sold out 2yrs ago and went to local work. Welding has been a pretty good side hustle for a long time that I enjoyed, and still do, but as I have said in the past in my case it's my plan B. I got hurt last Dec., as far as driving a rig goes, just climbing up into it is a chore and a painful one at that! So plan B is activated, and so far so good, point is, don't have one thing that your passionate about and good at, but always remember, That freezing cold 3am is always lurking, waiting to challenge your right to want to believe in your dreams.

If your plan B doesn’t work out you could always be a writer! I always love hearing your stories and your input! You should be the one making these videos, I’m still a young man with a lot to learn. You’ve been through most of what any man will in the life of business

I recently just started watching your videos. The information you share about starting a business, what tools you need, and the expenses of everything is tremendously helpful. I have a goal set to start my own mobile welding business after I have money saved from my current welding job. And all of your content is helpful. Thank you

You are so right. People don't under stand lets say you do make 200,000.00 that is not all your money. You made that much but you have cost of doing that work. Fuel , repairs, material, income tax , there is a lot that goes into making that 200k. I have been working for 31yrs I have nice stuff but I'm so ready to do my own thing and I want my time to do what I want. Great topic man keep on doing your thing it is awesome. Thank you

Great video man. I’m trying to start my mobile welding business up. I’ve been thinking about this for a couple years. And about two weeks ago I got the opportunity to purchase a welder. I have been advertising. And still nothing. I know it takes longer than a week lol but at the same time it worries me. Anyway great videos man very helpful

What kind of advertising you using?
@Jake_fn
@Jake_fn 4 года назад
Welderbeast LLC just the Facebook advertising.

I would really advise calling or meeting people face to face that will be your target audience. Facebook is alright but I haven’t gotten a job off of it myself yet, it takes time. Word of mouth has really been my main marketing that’s supplied jobs

when I was doing a little work years ago, I got most of business from craigslist, but also got a bad customer, which is why I stopped welding on the side. I tried a craigslist add earlier this year, it timed out & not 1 person wanted me to weld, but people did want me to do metal work on vehicle, or sell them a vehicle they saw in my background. I plan to see what happens, and build a building & if I get stuck in auto-body metal work, so be it, but I really am burned out of working on cars, & that's why I am here for a different avenue, but I am very good with sheet metal work, but just want my own business

Yeah, some body told me back when I started my trucking business, Boy your on your way now! Big money, nice cars, ect, fast forward about 25yrs, laying under truck in my driveway putting in a 15 speed transmission, with a floor Jack & a come along at 3am, it's -30, and you GOT TO GET THIS DONE!! So you can go pick up your load by 6pm today, 300mi away so you don't void a really good contract!... THAT'S WHEN YOU ASK WHY AM I DOING THIS?? BUSINESS IS A DEMANDING MISTRESS, AND A PITYLESS BITCH! She don't care what YOU want to do, she says THIS is what you WILL do if you want ME!!

who pays attention to instagram? lol, not me, but I am same person that doesn't watch TV, I own a TV, but only for movies I own to watch on, think I have watched 5 or 6 all year, no social media except Facebook, I don't care for fancy homes, & I am 100% serious, my world has always revolved around cars & trucks, so a serious mechanic garage interests me more than any home will ever. I got a wife, not intentionally trying to look for pics of other women, could care less. fancy cars are of no interest to me, again 100% serious, really driven MUSCLE old school vehicles is where my heart it. a dream vehicle of mine to drive every day, yes daily, a tunnel ram intake with 2, four barrel carbs, small block V8 engine, radical camshaft of my choosing, headers, dual exhaust with Porter mufflers, 4 speed, Mr. Gasket Vertical gate shifter, with a gear vendors overdrive, posi traction rear, stick engine in a 60's or 70's truck, & that's all the luxury I need, NO ONE falls asleep driving an obnoxious radical engine vehicle, never in my life have I ever not had at least 1 or more vehicles that are not civil to most people, even my Harley is quite radical, even though its tame by how I want it, & my daily driver truck is a Roush Ford F150 with a hood scoop, which happens to be nicest & most comfortable vehicle I have ever owned, but it will be replaced in a year or 2 by a nasty older truck. trust me! lol.

yes, got into understanding engines at 6 years old, was building souped up engines for gocarts mini-bikes by time I was 9, modifying and building overhead cam motorcycle engines by 10, & cars when I was 13, now at 52 years old, my back hurts too much for me to do professionally, I cant be contorted under a dash, or under a hood in some positions but a few minutes at a time, that's why I went back into autobody work, my back can handle it better, but I am burned out of doing, but my love is still there for serious hot rods, but no love for the guys that are ""show offs" pay someone to build & only ride on pretty days, I am too old school, even in Harley scene, if you don't ride it, you aint worthy of my time. after I get my Toyota built, and start on shop, I will be building a "shop" truck to be something to get attention, & it will have a souped up engine, actually looking at 1, cant decide to pull trigger, but it is so close, of a very hard to find vehicle, and it runs & drives, but needs a little metal replacement, & unfortunately is an automatic, plus has old school single reservoir master cylinder, manual brakes, which would need to be changed, but has one of my top engine picks, & already souped up, but needs a tunnel ram intake, lol. the metal work is just rocker panels, inner & outer, a new floor, its been patched several times, & has metal welded to metal, so needs to be ripped out & started with new floor, 2 cab mounts, someone has at least made square tubing into mounts, but just bolted into place, & needs to be done right, cab corners, bottom of door skins, & lower front fenders, all easy work, but probably close to 100 hours, it takes me an average of 9 hours per outer rocker panel, 6 per cab corner after bed is off, a floor around 25, unsure of door, but plan 9 hrs. per, fenders probably 5, but vehicle is cheaper than 90% of similar year trucks, that don't run, and is a 3/4 ton. which I only find a few within several hundred miles. shop truck primarily be only used to pull vehicles, to do metal work, as I see too many people cant find shops to do metal replacement, and willing to pay to get vehicle pulled, at least those within a few hundred miles. plus I just want to replace my truck & sell my current one.
