Real plot twist: Actually in Arabic, it's Yaban. 😂 So it's a country with a Y. This is 'cause Arabs were historically first familiarized to the letter 'J' not through English but Latin as is would be usual. In Latin 'J' is another form of 'I' so it's pronounced like English 'Y'. In modern Latin and other non-English languages using Latin script like German, it is indeed pronounced "Yapan." Likewise in Spanish it's "Hapan" 'cause J is pronounced as H.
As an Arab when I first started learning English I couldn’t differentiate between P and B too because the sound of the letter P doesn’t exist in Arabic so you’d hear lots of P words pronounced with B when talking to an Arab
When i first seen texts in arabic, i noticed there's 2 characters which looks like they came from 𐤐(phoenician pei) I was disappointed when it turned out that one of them originated from 𐤒(phoenician qop)

Not sure, but that could be the case where in his native language it starts with B. Sometimes when I watch this kind of video, if it's countries with C, I'll automatically think of Coreia and Cazaquistão, which would be wrong in english bc it's Korea and Kazakhstan

They could be relatively next to each other, but they aren’t immediately next to each other; it just depends on your perspective. I would say they aren’t next to each other in the literal way because they don’t share a border, they don’t touch. If you are saying they are relatively next to each other, then… sure :/

On modern maps, they aren’t immediately next to each other. They are separated by India. Yeah and what's interesting is Pythagorus in Arabic is not pronounced with a B but F: Fithaghaurous. Plato (Platon in Greek) is Aflatoun ('A' is added 'cause Arabic doesn't allow double consonants at the start of a word). Persia (Pars in Middle Persian) is Fars. Palestine is Filastin. This is because F was the more common replacement for P in Classical Arabic when these names were introduced. In Modern Arabic, B is the only replacement for P. So if Pepsi was introduced in the pre-modern era, it could've been Fefsi instead of Bebsi. 😅
