When You CHEESE IT But Don't Even Know 

That last level genuinely felt like it could have been in a regular Mario game.

Ryu has mastered the art of cheesing levels to the point that the levels just cheese themselves.

2:50 - I love how the returning Thwomp gets stopped by the falling blocks so it can't bother you again. That's some stellar timing and level design.

That last level was honestly one of the best I've ever seen and Nintendo should use it for a final castle.

The first half of that last level is a bit busy in the design, but that final battle was incredible! That's something Nintendo would do and I'm stunned Bowser's behavior just WORKED! I've never seen it before, but it feels like this is what he was designed to do all along. Mind BLOWN

Last level was really cool, felt like a Nintendo level.

That last level bears a lot of resemblance to the castle levels in NSMBWii. Especially the Bowser chase section. Really awesome level!

That was the best Bowser fight I have ever seen in SMM. It was designed so that bowser couldn’t fall into the lava with the perfectly spaced spikes. And with something as RNG as Bowser, I’m shocked that he was actually able to make him follow you so well without him getting stuck or catching up to you or crushing you into the side of the screen. Very awesome.

Last level is amazing, inspired by old Mario games and with a lot of care about details 😍

The last level is probably the best I have seen design-wise, when it comes to esthetics (not function) - also that boss fight was truly awe-inspiring and amazing, glad you shared

Okay but can I say that last level was absolutely godly? Like it looked amazing and obviously had much love put into it. It played like a mario level would. It wasn't some generic speedrun course like so many levels are. It was just amazing design all the way.

16:44 He went with Bowser Jr. because this is meant to be a final battle level, and you don't fight the koopalings in a final battle level in any Mario game. In SMM2, the cause could be made for a "Koopalings' Revenge" boss rush level, though, as either part of the final level, or the penultimate level.

The highlight of that last level was definitely the Bowser chase section, I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like that, at least to the level of how well it worked. Really felt like for the Bowser Junior fight before it though that they could've spiced up the arena more, the cannons didn't really add much to differentiate it from the thousands of other levels that just toss you in an empty room with a BJR or Boom Boom.
