►We all been there before, you mine for so long that you forget about sleeping and phantom as a whole, so by the time you come back from mining, you're met with a huge hord of phantoms waiting to feast on you.
realising you're low from all the mining you can't help but sit there and watch in sadness.

night is the best time to mine, mobs will spawn outside on top of the overworld, meaning less mobs will spawn in the caves due to mob cap. Plus you've got nothing better to do during the night (unless you just sleep every time)

I disabled phantoms on my private little smp and I think the count does keep rising. I haven't slept in a bed pretty much since I disabled phantoms which would mean.... Somewhere in late 2022?

@@cameronb7161no! Slow Falling is very good against the Ender Dragon because if he Yeets you sky high slow falling will save you from death. So I highly recommend getting 3 potions of Slow Falling before going to the end

@@caty1079 While a server is active, whether players are on it or not, time ticks forward. That means that the days advance while nobody is around, and as such, if a player logs off for more than about an hour, the server will think they have not slept in 3 days. The server only sees that the player has not slept in some number of game ticks (must be over 72000 to spawn phantoms, AKA 3 days), so when you come back, the server will spawn phantoms. If you were to, say, log off for the night, and log on 12 hours later, then every time the game decides to spawn phantoms (about once a minute), then it will have nearly a 92% chance to succeed (not sleeping for longer increases the spawn chance), and you can effectively get an army of phantoms when you log back on....

@@caty1079 No, it's just a byproduct of how the game figures out when people last slept on servers. AFK players can completely avoid the spawning by having literally a single block above their head, cats around (they scare away phantoms), or being below Y=62 (phantoms cannot spawn while you are below sea level).

Phantoms don’t spawn if you’re underground. They only spawn if you have an unobstructed view of the sky.

The phantoms’ shadows approaching at the end was great detail. Also, this is why I barely play survival alone, lol. Even in today’s version, survival Minecraft is still pretty scary, lmao.
