In this week's portion (and many other parts of the Torah), it states that giving is taking. Besides thats it's confusing, we want to understand why the Torah is using this way to address this motion and what can take from that to our life to enhance our spiritual growth - This and MUCH more in this class!

Take is a very strong word. Take Heed! Take is like preparation: "Take for yourself onycha, galbanum, frankincense, fragrant spices etc.. if one one from any of them is missing it is invalid."In other words take them all into consideration when you offer these. In a complete manner. Wholehearted.

Rabbi this is one of the most beautiful and eloquent teaching on charity, giving and blessings. When you said “Capturing the heart of the one “ it brought tears to me. I never thought of it that way. Baruch HaShem.

I've met a negative giver. One who gives in order to take. Who doesn't say no and asks for nothing in order to gain favor. They enable to their detriment seemingly for the sake of being liked. They're incredibly imbalanced in everything.

She takes in all in order to sustain her family through winter. She's not worried because she looks smilingly because going to inherit something she can't even describe. Her enterprise is profitable. Give to receive is her enterprise which is always profitable. Material doesn't fully describe it but it's a means so her family is clothed in the best quality always. This is in proverbs I think.

The mum does a lot of taking all day. Taking is feminine. Some will take to crossroads and that's going out of your way for the life of your children.

Marriage is also supposed to be a "COVENANT " (Until Death do us part) but nowadays Marriage has become a CONTRACTUAL AGGREEMENT between two people. How sad 😔 😥

Hello! My first reaction to the question is; we are a part of GD, so when we give to GD it was his already. Giving and taking happens at the same time.

In Brazil we have an expression that says “- You can take the donkey to the riverside, but you cannot force it to drink>” So Avraham cannot GIVE water to the guest. He can “offer” and, if the guest wishes, the guest “TAKE” the glass of water. The act of giving is twofold. The person who gives and the person who receives. If I want to "give" (help or something like that) and the person doesn't want to "take"this help, nothing happens. “Giving” would be your unilateral act. Perhaps in the same way when Hashem tells people to “take” the offering, He means that He has given everything the person has and needs, including the goods to build the temple. So the person cannot give something that is not his. He/she can “take” what he/she recognizes that Hashem gave her to be a participant in the construction and give it to Moses

We can take all of this as opportunities to do chesed. You take it like Abraham and get up and lech lecha. No muck around. I reckon he could go places back in those days.

The tribe of Binyamin had to start taking because the tribe diminished over an incident with a woman. So they would grab like a wolf. Sounds scary? To feed the family.

Take is with gevurah. Technically you can't have it but you take the opportunity. Thieves do this and it's a bad traits. Yitzchak loves his son Esav. If you become like a chariot (give everything you got) then you can now take then abundant shefa but you have to give in order to be able to take this shefa like a chariot. To give means that you have to go beyond your animal nature which usually doesn't give a hoot about holiness and take the reigns. Self judgement. But be impartial in self judgement (taking both sides into consideration tiferet) All needs to be considered otherwise you run the risk of being a devouring mother. Like one takes who over her husband who is living and puts on her husbands pants even (what a chutzpah!) This generation is like the devouring mother, if you could see this dynamic from afar it's like cancer that eats up all the cells) but this mother also has the potential to harness abundant shefa but we have to be all united as one.
