it's really not. it'd bloated af with so many different currencies and items filling up your inventory. not to mention the dungeons are TERRIBLE. completely caused me to lose interest
@@ekuda To each their own, at least it tried something different rather than copy the same boring systems like WoW/FF14. Idc bout the currencies, the gameplay is toptier
@@Sumowning well i'll agree on that. the gameplay was pretty damn good but damn dude i felt like my inventory was constantly getting filled with all kinds of crap
Such a nice sentiment. I can't say ESO is a huge regret for me, but I don't dip back into it as much. For me LOTRO is my world and I actually picked my house in the Mist (FFXIV) because the cliffs reminded me of my Shire home. I wish I could stay in GW2 longer, but there is just so much that I have trouble figuring out what to do. It's like an overload that just frustrates and you have to back away.
@@kynno9305 XI is the best of them all. I got several 100s and all crafts 90+ in XIV. Just returned to XI again because DT was the same ole run and click, repetitive dungeons. Have been having a blast on XI :)
I don't understand the WoW sentiment? Like, BFA and shadowlands were ass, but fuck me, Dragonflight has unironically been the most fun I've had in this game since years. It was rough around the edges, and okay at best, but still a really solid experience. And The war within looks really solid too. I do wonder sometimes if people *actually* dislike the game, or do they have a skewed view because of that big blue "blizzard" logo next to the name.
@@VValkyr It's simple because you still have the love in the WoW but I do not, not anymore for a really long time. Lets just say and i repeat this is just a saying : imagine your list of emotions are the same as mine but we swap FF14 or any other games in place of WoW as Lament and the reasons that only you know. Someone will jumps in and say the same thing as you do. I do wonder the same, why sometimes ppl just like to express their opinion on something they like/dislike there is always someone with the same mindset trying to counter that. It's the simplest matter of "I like this and I dislike that" and "You like that and dislike this", its how life works. I respect your opinion of WoW but you should just stop at that, no need to bring others in, it's a visious cycle. I simply expressed how i feel about the games that bring the emotions througout my life and stop.
@@hawkecro Ppl dont understand that we cant compare DT to the other Expansions cuz: Its the start of a new journey so we have to only comparise it with ARR. Also the Story of DT isnt fully over right? Its just Chapter 1. Also its an experimental AddOn to test what Players want. Under These conditions its still a great addon
@@Jecoopster BnS was a proper MMO when I played it years ago, a very hardcore one at that. The raid content was extremely difficult and fun. The game has been dead for like 6 years now though LUL.
Since gw3 was announced to be in development i will be surprised if they keep g2 server online. Unlike the og gw it must cost a bunch to keep the server operating
@@ZakRios333 I’m down, as a 10 year vet of xi, I’d love to see some new light shed, even a remake, xi is stuck in maintenance mode because of the ps2 devkits and the ability to use them is decreasing rapidly, xi using the engine that xiv uses, would be amazing
The new GW2 expansion is surprisingly good. Might not convince you to play if you're not already into it, but if you already like the game & are looking for something to do I'd strongly suggest giving Janthir Wilds a shot.
@@rock00dom horrible supporting characters, PC commander isn't bad though. Canach, Ryland and Crecia are the only ones I can stomach. Also Elder Dragons were more of a plot device than characters, Demons and Wizards were extremely rushed and I hadn't had the opportunity to play Janthir yet so I'm no going to comment on that
@@rock00dom Ex-GW1 and GW2 player here (for many years). GW2 had a mediocre story that trampled unto itself with a "undead rise" plot that led to the most uninteresting end boss of all, and an extremely depressing finale. Not that it was sad, it was just.... lacking. Truly to say i was disheartened by this but i endure, so the living story comes out.... And i shudder in saying it's awfull.... the characters are uninteresting, constantly complaining in moments that lead to nowhere and sad moments that fall flat. Everyone is constantly annoying (except Rytlock. Lad was tired by shitty politics, actually tried to go for something and always had your back), and end up disapearing when the previous episode was "let's trust each other's" themed... The rest being the always annoying and later on idioticly depressed Taimi, the always bickering love/ hate Marjory and Kasmeer (who are constantly provind to be as uninteresting as they are useless), and the frustatingly and awfully written Braham. Not Rox.... She's golden as far as i care. And it's not just that it's the idiotic quests you do for these characters that either don't serve great purpose or is just fixing their problems/ trying to care enough for them complaining about everything(wich is constant). For example Braham a promising gigantic Norn, a fighting warrior that promised to never abandon his friends in any sort of dire situation is a character that at some point loses something important in the story, and the way he deals with loss is written just makes him a literal giant child, pouting, yelling, disapearing constantly and just doing stupid things because he feels sad... Hell the "lesbian" couple have the worst relationship ive ever seen, they're always breaking up and getting back together constantly, and always tell you about every single badly written detail of their toxic relationship, in every so other episode you end up either fixing their crap, or listening to them and half of it doesn't even make sense like majority of the events of the game. Then we reach Heart of Thorns with an awfull jungle system where you had to be forced to stay more time then you wanted to unlock the ability to traverse it in an actual fun way.... It's a fan expansion but GOD AWFULLY DESIGNED!! You should keep the player interested in the game, not trying to screw him up... Also the story is you guessed it... another "undead rise" plot with the adition of controlling a whole race. It's again nothing out of the extraordinary, but we end up losing a magnificent character in the most basic and pathetic ways and actually get an interesting boss, Mordremoth that i wish was more explored other then "AHH I'M BAD AND I'M GOING TO KILL EVERYTHING, AHHH!!"; At some point you get a dragon (Aurene i think was the name?), so that's.... alright.... serves as a deus ex machina that was awfully implemented. Then it came Path of Fire wich i loved the design and it's missions, but it gave us.... some of the worst monotone written villains, i.e. Joko and Balthazar wich profoudly annoyed me. Even the concept of how they came to be was.... unoriginal at most, Joko in particular reminded me of the Palpatine meme (Somehow.... Joko lives..). Also another "undead rise" plot ----------- TL;DR: I think overall of the game is just that. The promise of something great that never reaches anywhere and everyone keeps complaining about it with their little ass problems. Like firework with no explosion but then your girlfriend just starts describing in detail about her sexual life with her ex. The game.... has it's moments.... But it's the most boring, corny-ass, uninteresting plot that never achieves anything, and still makes you grind for a Mastery System for not only the expansions but also the awfully designed and horribly written living seasons...
Loved GW1 - I played GW2 for a couple of years at launch but dipped just before Heart of Thorns to go back to WoW. Just straight up hated Scarlet and how a lot of the Living World focused on her. Part of me does want to go back and see how Elona/Cantha have changed since the first game in the expansions
I played gw2 for hundred hours, and the biggest problem with gw2 that prevents it from being superior to wow or ff14, is the unbalanced and ultra punishing combat, the normal mobs give you a lot of cc chain, you are left lying on the ground for a long time, not to mention the absurd damage they cause , you die in 2-3 hits easily, me with a full epic marauder set with warrior berserker takes almost ik for the mobs, for the game to be good, they have to reduce the damage that mobs cause by half, double the HP of all classes, and remove CC from mobs. simple.
Nothing will ever come close to Lineage 2 C4-C6 experience in my opinion. Yes and I also played WoW, I would never get back to WoW even if it became like it was, but I would immediately jump into L2 again.
@@xL0stKIlah "proper wow clone" that's supposed to be a good thing?.. gw2 isn't "pure garabage" it's the literal peak of MMOs. To compare it to FFXIV is insulting to gw2. how do people even like FFXIV? i mean everyone has their own opinion, but yikes...
@@xL0stKIlahGW2 isn't p2w and it has loads of content and a really good hybrid action tab target combat system. Everything you said is just completely wrong. I don't think you've ever played GW2. You don't know anything about it.
Guild wars 2 is crazy, but would be the G with better graphics optimization. The gameplay and features are really something different, but some games look so much better and run better with max settings even in big fights or situations with a lot happening on screen.
gw2 really need better marketing. Only learned a week or so ago about the new expansion and I play lots of mmorpgs. Not to mention they need to plan releases better, they should aim for dull periods in the theme park mmorpgs, not try to compete with wow at the launch of a new expansion. Whether it was on purpose or not...
I'm not sure what emotion you're conveying with Guild Wars 2, but I feel that. Been doing the story in order, burned out from LWS2, and not sure what to make of the game myself.
It absolutely is, we even had 2 vip-only progression servers (currently lvl50 cap) open up 2-3 weeks ago, and the normal servers are at Umbar with the lvl150 cap :D
I need to go back to GW2. My favorite MMO since my early days in WoW. Ive been playing FF14 and while I like the story, it really does feel like an amusement park. Everything is kid-proof with safety padding and you are basically just playing carnival games for prizes.
@@xL0stKIlah GW2 has a lot on Final Fantasy XIV. It has a more responsive and dynamic battle system and perhaps the best overworld map design in any MMO. Character movement is also much more dynamic. It also has, in my opinion anyway, superior dungeon design even including the original dungeons that they abandoned. GW2 feels like a large playground. FFXIV shines in (1) its story, (2) its character design, (3) its RP support, (4) its accessibility (5) its raid design. However, FFXIV's core philosophy is not about immersion or freedom, it's about stability. Which is where other MMOs have the ability to surpass it. Because it's a game made to appeal to as wide of an audience as possible, it really doesn't specialize in anything aside from the story. As I said, it's an amusement park with rigid rules.
@@xxJing gw2 combat Is clunky mess. Pretty much all the moves take a hour to even excute. Yea gw2 doesn't even feel like an actually real polished game. More like a sanbox demo thst never truly got polished or worked on. Gw2 has no freedom. It's is a strict meta with cookie cutter builds. All the choice is pure illusion. This game does nothing better mmo wise and is pretty much just a single player rpg and hardly even does that we'll since character customization is extremely limited. Haven't even gotten into the blatant pay to win greed. All around mess of a game lol
@@xL0stKIlah You can't buy the best gears, the legendary gears, with your wallet, what the hell are you talking about? You have to do quests or buy precursors with INGAME currency that has absolutely shite conversion rate (to deter people like you from doing so) to real life money for legendary weapons. You can only get legendary armors through raids or pvp or wvw modes. All the legendary trinkets, sigils and runes are in game quests and farms that are hard locked to time gate items you have to craft in game. ALL OF WHICH CAN'T BE PURCHASED WITH RL MONEY. You're a little bit obsessed if you are just spamming random p2w bullshit whenever you see a comment about gw2.
@@DuwMinhnah that's the reason the market place becomes complete garbage. Other MMOs the auction is limited to the player and what they can do in game. In gw2 a person gets something rare makes up an absurd number and it sells because someone swiped a card. Thus filling up the auction with numerous 3k+ items. The card snipers control thr market they can buy up limited supply items regardless of price. The elite literally trade in chak infusions and the like to move their wealth.
So far I find war within better than last three expansions or at least two before dragonflight because dragonflight was pretty good just main story sucked ass.
As someone with thousands of hours in FF14 who thought HW was the peak the image of the 4 expansions after being depicted as the Four Lions crew embody my feelings that for all the hype they had at the start they all went to crap in the end rather well.
I enjoyed morrowind expac back in the day. The armor sets are bland and ugly as sin. Your race is either magic or Stam buffing and for min max your race determines what class you should play to get a slight edge. They have expansions and smaller dlcs and good luck trying to figure out what to buy to get current and what cost though a sub grants access to this content. Games looks rather rigid and material bag tied up in the sub. b Player base is always in some sort of controversy too.
Many feel it ruined the lore of the game. Otherwise all the classes are kind of the same. I do think the actual zone stories are good and some of their systems are good - which is why GW2 is copying their housing. Their version of archeology is great compared to WoW.
I liked ESO until every zone became scaled to a players lvl. I never liked it. Never will. I Loved teleporting myself to high level like coldharbour at lvl 1 and start to do the quests there.
I’ve been locked in with the fun exploring and discovery focus going places and completing areas don’t feel like some chore exploring is very rewarding and fun unlike most mmos. There is lots of quality of life features that other mmos do not have that just make you not want to play the other ones cause you just wonder why they don’t just put it in
I'm gonna have an unpopular opinion on this, but I used to like Wrath as a kid, but growing up I realized just how dull and easy the content actually was... It's either you raid, pvp, or nothing. [Unless you were in the roleplaying community.] And you basically needed every addon, get your gearscore up, find a guild that would be willing to help you [and wasn't a total crappy guild.] Don't twist my words when I say this, I still like Wrath, but I don't consider it the "Best WoW Expansion Ever".
I've always thought that WoW was done for and FFXIV is and will always be the best MMO. But turns out, Dawntrail is garbage and Dragonflight (+ TWW) actually saved WoW from the miseries of BfA and Shadowlands. Interesting how quickly things can change in this very old genre of games.
Maybe you should go speak to Wuk Lamat first. She is right behind you as she never left always present always by your side for all eternity. Pray go speak to Wuk Lamat.
I noticed DT and Stormblood were in the front seat while EW and ShB were dancing and singing more in the back. I assume that is the creator acknowledging that DT and StB are kind of on the same level. Also, DT is acting goofier. I assume this is all on purpose.
@fletcher8263 arr was a boring slog and storm blood has always been controversial. Many people were hooked with Heavensward myself included if it was as bad as you said many people myself included would have bailed. The core already had to be remade so Square needed a strong first expac to lock people in which HW succeeded.
DT would be singing off-key in that shot, sitting in the back and overshadowed by Shadowbringers, imo. 😂 GW2 is me reflecting on the joy I felt all the way up to LWS4, and the slow and utter boredom I felt as the story collapsed from there. WoTLK laughing at TWW, Shadowlands and BFA is perfectly justified. I can't keep up with ESO, but I return here and there. Lost Ark lost me, but I'm glad someone's dancing happily 😂 BDO felt like a scam cut from the same cloth.
For me it's not Wuk Lamat specifically but just how bad the writing was in general this expansion. Wuk takes the blame for eclipsing the other characters, but they all feel like cardboard cutouts. Plus, Dawntrail felt like it had almost no continuity from the previous expansions, most egregiously having no mention of the Final Days. I could go on, but every scene felt like there were 7 things wrong with it aside from Wuk Lamat.
@@Zadamanim let me ask you this. Are you certain your opinion has not been colored by the writing of the previous expansions? Did you unknowingly raise your expectations because of endwalker, or are you not letting that expansion bias your opinion?
Eh, Wuk Lamat is basically Lyse done right, in my opinion. I still think the character was overused in its story and needed to be put aside for other plots to flourish, but that's an issue with the writters rather than the character. Wuk Lamat as a character alone is actually pretty entertaining and I like havin' her around.
WoW is garbage. As someone who played it since release. It is literal hot garbage filled with idiots and toxic players. It's a pointless grind with no soul. Guildwars is a joke for poors. FF is the only good MMO out there today.
Best meme for FF14 would be a cow, because Square is just milking it and doesn't care to put any kind of effort into it since Stormblood beside marketing lies to lure in new people who fall for them.
@@hellgorama So basically FF14 is the only game under their belt thats been hugely income positive, while all their other titles have either failed to recoup cost or just barely recouping. Because of this they're siphoning FF14 budget into all of their other product, and in some opinion to a detriment.
