This is a superb version...but I have to admit, I like Gomez's original Broadway use of " undecided " in reference to Lurch. Other than that, this is very well done.
Can we just talk about the musicians in the pit? They play so well, and I love the dance break where it’s just them playing. Also that killer drum solo during death rattle!
I wonder why so many versions omit Lurch's grunt at the end of this song....I was in this show last month and I played Lurch, and we kept it in. this is my favorite version that I've found so far.
Carl Trammel Im Lurch in my schools production this year and we have cut it out. This is after having it in, then taking it out, waiting a few months before putting it back in, and then it was out a week later. We decided after sitzprobe, that it would be too hard to slot in and make them stop and learn something new. It would have been good to give Lurch his own ‘moment’ in the song, but move towards the darkness is when we SHINE!!!
I was so mad when I was in my schools musical they took that out. They also took out Gomez’s line of “several times a day” when Morticia said “you need to really love your wife.”
Have to say, this is an excellent production. I've seen many versions but this is by far one of the best. The choreography is fantastic and everyone acting, singing and dancing is on point. Well done!
Okay weird story. So I like to swing on the swing in my backyard and listen to music. And I was doing it just now, at 1 am cause I can't sleep. Its pitch black and I'm listening to this, and suddenly when I'm up in the air a furry thing collides into my face, right in my right eye and cheek. It clawed me kinda and knocked my glasses clean off my face and fell behind me. I screamed, freaked out and fell off the swing. Turns out it was a freaking bat! Its alright, it flew away. But holy fuck it scared the shit outta me. And what a song to listen to while a bat flies into my face huh?
Very weird and coincidental! I got hit in the face by a bat when I was a teenager when I was getting the washing in off the line in the dark. Both freaky and exciting!
This ought to be Moaning Myrtle's new home-plenty of ghosts to hang out with and safe-no-one would ever even think about throwing a book-or any object-at an Addams ghost!
i was in my middle school production of the addams family jr and i played uncle fester. see how similar and different the productions are is really cool.
Ria 17 instead of just calling it show choir we call it broadway company because it is an auditioned group of sophomores-seniors who do Broadway musical productions! Not sure how the name came to be entirely Lol
Aleah Travers okay? Sorry, still don’t really get the Broadway Company thing just because I️ know of a lot of high schools that do the same thing but just call themselves a theatre company. Thanks for the reply and info, it sounds like a fun tidbit for you guys (I’m assuming you’re a part of the company) thank you!
the ancestor's entrance was very lazy also when start singing but the rest is ok but i have to admit when its the line dance to the death rattle is really good but really you have try not to smile
Ella Serwin They're aloud to have an opinion, and, to be honest, I agree. They don't seem to be enjoying their performance and just seem a bit... well... dead
Amelia C well we were kind of emerging from the dead. Stylistic choice to dance with structure as opposed to show smiles and jazz hands. We won a Tommy award for outstanding musical and have been asked to perform at the Tommy Awards show. Which is a big deal. Not many high schools can pull something like this off. Let alone receive astonishing awards for overall performance.
They were alot slow on the singing. Not alot of dancing, it kind of made me cringe, fester opened the door to the ancestors too early, but im sure you all did your best
