In my area, we have Glass Nickel and Toppers. Glass Nickel is expensive, but people won’t come in on the weekends if you bring Greasy Hut or Little Sneezers.
My company stopped doing pizza parties over 3 years ago. Stopped free coffee and having sodas in the bulding 2 years ago. And just recently they took away cups at the water machine. We didnt have toilet paper for a month. I work at a fortune 100 company. Corps have turned into working slave pits.
Company throws a pizza party for their employees after a record breaking profit session: Disgruntled employee: I thought we were getting raises? Supervisor: raise? The only raise you’ll see buddy is raising a plastic cup of room temperature soda!
Of course management and HR will get their first. All the good sodas and pizza will be gone. Just those opened boxes no one would've wanted but they decided to be "inclusive." Someone took one anchovi pizza and the other seven went in the trash
pizza partys? hell our work does grill outs (granted we do grillouts when its nice otherwise it is something else) and they gave us a choice between turkey and ham for thanksgiving which is dope honestly
I had an employer try this with me once. We had our electrician remove all the wiring for all of the machines, then take an unscheduled vacation. We got the guard to not allow any electricians into the property, and we all sat around doing nothing. None of us touched the pizza and we made it very clear that no work would be done until 50% of the profits above the average would be split among the employees as a bonus. It was a machine shop, and most of us were Tool and Die makers, and it’s not easy to replace us. They fired us all, but after 2 weeks they couldn’t find a single replacement. So we all got rehired with a 30% raise, and 5 years of back paid bonuses. That was quite a bit of money, so we all quit after that and the company went under. We ended up meeting with the investors and when they heard how we were treated, they sued their management, and even turned most of them over to the government for violating numerous laws. It was nice to see the former CEO and all the management get jail time, and knowing that the investors got to take back their retirement money was just the icing on the cake.
I don't believe any of this shit happened. "We had our electrician remove all the wiring for all of the machines" is some shit a person who has never worked on any machine would say.
I swear Marco's knows if you have never ordered from them before so they make your first pizza from them to be pretty damn good and from then out you are another "eh fuck em' " so-so pizza customer.
@@jimwormmaster I know the first time I had them it was really good, the last few times have been strike outs. I still give them a chance though, it is not like it is bad, but I guess it is like someones first hit and they are always chasing that first experience again...
I just need a raise or a bonus. No parties. We just finally got a 3% cost of living raise (3% is a joke with this inflation rate). The last raise I got was in 2018. Never got a bonus in my whole life.
we get a pasta party. 3 crock pots that may or may not have been washed. 2 get elbow macaroni, one gets a jar of ragu sauce and enough water to fill the rest of the pot. tiny Styrofoam bowls are all you get to eat from. and the cheapest plastic spoons..no forks. and if they run out before you get a bowl, that's your problem.
More than I got at my job; for christmas the CEO would buy a little plastic garbage can and the inside was filled with white chocolate covered pretzels. That was to be shared amongst everyone at the location and each pail was about $10 at the time. The name of it? "White Trash". Those working for him? All white. Told us how he felt about us, considering he was a multi-millionaire. As for pizza parties for adults doing well at their job; I don't need a fucking pizza party or a nice dinner. I got that shit in school when the whole class got good grades. As an adult, I want a fucking raise when the company does well due to the efforts of the employees. You know, adult shit. I can have a pizza party any day of the week on my own dime.
I have never got a 25 cent raise. I think if I did, I'd quit on the spot. I didn't graduate from university to have you give me a fraction of a god damn dollar.
My job (a small hospital) just gives us occasional “recognition breakfasts” with food from the cafeteria. It’s not bad food it and of itself, but that’s all we get. Sometimes I come into work on night shift and there is a partial box of donuts or something like that left from dayshift, but I don’t know who that comes from.
