I picked up Command from Fey Touch, Detect Thoughts from Telepathic feat, Suggestion, Fear, Enemies Abound, Phantasmal Killer, Dream, Geas, and Mass Suggestion. Yes, I CAN use INT for persuasion, and it works quite well... I play as an Enchantment Wizard.

@@zegpath81 pretty much everything he tried to do in season 2 fails thats not how it was on the table top take the Umbrasyl fight Percy did the second most damage to him with 321 points of damage 172 of which was in one round just behind Grogs total of 370, Grog was also the one who actually killed Umbrasyl which was way more thematic for Grogs arc than scanlan kills him for some reason.

I’ve played lots of different ways to make character stats; point buy, sequential 3d6, 4d6 drop the lowest, and even one with roll d20 for stats (a silly game in which I played as a lobster blessed by a mad god to believe himself a Quixotic knight named Shelldon Thermidor, on a search to rescue his Queen Clawdia).

His original character was actually a blue dragonborn paladin, but when they changed the game to a long term campaign, he made Percy so he could have a character who'd have a story and arc that would develop over a long time. Why would you think anyone chose Percy for him?

He's a Fighter with a homebrewed Gunslinger subclass with 3 Warlock spells in-game because he took the Magic Initiative Feat. He has the cantrips Friends and Minor Illusion and can cast the spell Hex once a day.

Before CR started streaming, the used the Pathfinder 1e ruleset and then converted to D&D 5e’s ruleset once they started streaming. There isn’t a “gunslinger” subclass in 5e so they had to homebrew one. The closest official material in 5e gets is that some characters could be given or could learn firearm proficiency assuming gunpowder weapons exist in your setting.

It’s sort of an Easter egg since every character other than Vox machina and other PCs is technically Matt, you can even see it in the facial structure, it’s sort of the stereotypical guard voice most people make when they imagine a guard.

i felt that too imo, they're opening themselves up more to the party that shouldn't care, so the dynamic is more "liberating" but overall, the writing does feel off in comparison to the first season

They're not different characters you're just seeing different aspects of them. Especially with Percy who, you know, is no longer possessed by a demon of vengeance. Or Vex with her father, who yeah she acts a lot different around than most people. Not because she's a different person, but because the situation and relationship with him touches on insecurities she doesn't have with other people. Vax got moody after watching his sister die, which was literally his worst fear confirmed, then had to work through his issues and being chosen by the literal goddess of death which is a concept he has a lot of past baggage around with his mother. They're acting different, but not because they're ooc. It's because they're growing and changing and showing different parts of aspects from the campaign they didn't have to confront in season one. It's part of dynamic characters.
