I love that at the line "And the DM to guide you" we are shown a massive smoke cloud which is basically the DM saying "Walk over there for cool events"

When the Amazon Prime adaptation for Mighty Nein comes out, Critical Role’s already got the opening sequence done for them ^.^

This makes them look a lot cooler than they actually (Gets attacked by a chest) Oh, there they are.

no matter how many hundreds of times i've listened to this, this remains the best intro and will always give me goosebumps

They really rolled a Nat 20 with this intro not gonna lie.

"Put your fate in your hands, take a chance, roll the dice" Next shot is of the cloak owned by a certain lavender tiefling. Gods dammit.

Ah, I see you too are here to reminisce on times that once were. Come come, take a seat, and experience an old memory with the knowledge of something new.

I love how they’re all just posing epically and then there's just Nott holding her flask

Everyone in the end: *powering up* Rogue: I’m too sober for this shit.

I love how this makes them all look far more competent and put together than they actually are in-game. XD

One great thing I don’t see praised enough is the transitions, they’re Edgar Wright level, the movement brings your visual attention to where the next character will be. This is most notable at 0:51 Where Fjord’s movements transition perfect into Nott’s, making it incredibly easy on they eye. This is also shown in the fact that the characters are almost always dead centre, this means that the watcher doesn’t need to move their sight so much and so more time can be spent paying attention to the animation. Whoever did the animation deserves a an award or two.

When an intro song is so good, that the entire audience -- between 2,000 and 3,000 people -- spontaneously sing it to kick off a live show at GenCon. That's how good this song, and this cast, are.

The transition going from Molly's cloak to Cad standing in the forest just pulls at my heartstrings so much 😭

In a perfect world, This is an animated series that covers the whole campaign from start to finish, holy shit, absolutely phenomenal

Why do I always have to tear up when I see Molly’s cloak? It’s been like 3 years!

The "And they rise from the flames... " bit with Caleb staring into the fire made me tear up a second.

I say with absolutely no exaggeration that Molly's coat in the wind makes me choke up every time I watch this

I now just realized that instead of “they got daggers and cunning” they say “they got falchions and cunning” small detail but it’s still amazing

just felt like coming back here for some reason

I have a son 9 months old... When he first heard this song, his eyes lit up. It is his favorite song of all, and just humming the melody makes his snap around to find the song. He even gets mad if we don't find it fast enough :D

i was on episode 20 of the 2nd chapter when i asked myself "who's that pink guy in their group, where's Mo-" and then i cried.

Okay so i haven't gotten to a point where this actually plays, i'm only in the mid 30s but it's a really cool detail that at the very end all of the characters are in the same poses as their minis.

And now it's becoming an animated series!

Whenever I feel like I'm losing some steam as a DM, I like listening to this track. It gets me right back in the mood.

I love how my first time watching this was my introduction to critical role when I was hanging out with my sister-in-law over Christmas and I loved this animation the first few times I watched it. Now, revisiting it after watching a chunk of The Mighty Nein, I can recognize background characters, battle scenes, and I understand the hints or flashes of character backstories and I just think that's pretty neat

Anyone still almost cry at the sight of Molly's coat hanging from a post? 😭

If this isn’t the most badass thing you’ve ever seen you must have have seen an ant carry a large crumb of bread up some stairs.

I just love how the intro shows every members fighting style perfectly but my absolute favourite is that sequence at 1:00 when Beau spins all light and fast and then Yasha's sword strike feels so powerfull and heavy

I can't wait till I get to this point to hear it every episode. Just hitting ep 22 in the first campaign.

1:07 one thing that I love about the idea of building a story as a DnD campaing, it's that all it's bound to the dice, a death can come at any moment, either they (Matt and friends) want it or not.

The thing is once you start watching the series all of this begins to make way more sense

Just noticed Yasha's hair goes full black when the wings come out. It's the little details. :D

You know what I love the most about this intro? From the music to the imagery, it perfectly captures the magic and thrill of playing D&D in a way that I have not seen anywhere else.

Almost 5 years later and this intro still goes hard.

Me, who just started watching the campaign: Oh, an animated intro!! So cool, I bet my favourite character, Molly, will appear. *Molly doesn't appear* Me: Huh, weird. *reads the comment section* _Crap._

I got my 70 year old mother to start watching CR2 this last summer and she's HOOKED on Episode 13, (The Cerberus Assembly and The Krinn Dynasty just had their first appearance fighting over the Dodecohedron). She love it now, and has NO idea what she's in for. Good god how did this campaign become one of the greatest stories ever told.

If the upcoming Amazon Prime series is anywhere near as cool as this intro, then I'm eagerly awaiting it. What am I saying, I'm still eagerly awaiting it.

I love how at 1:28, the characters are standing in the order that they'd be sitting in

Just thinking about the shot with Caduceus when they show Taliesin's name. There's a butterfly in the shot and Cad watches it and I think that's like so important and stop me if you heard this before I want to get this brain fart out. The animators are Filipino so like while the shot with Molly's coat and Raven!Vax means so much, in the Philippines, whenever a relative/loved one dies, if you see a butterfly nearby, that's their spirit and they're watching over you and like I'm gonna think about this for a while. It's like the ravens, I guess.

Me when I am only at episode 10: Who is the pink guy? And where is Molly? After watching more Critical Role: *D* *A* *M* *N* After watching much much more Critical role: *MR. FOX.EXE HAS STOPPED WORKING*

And on April Fool's, Veth manages to do what Nott does in this opening - runs up a giant's arm, flips off, and shoots it in the back of the head as they leap off.

1:11 This part always gives me creeps. The scenery, the singing and music, and the butterfly, which represents Molly's death. The combination just gets me everytime
