Last time, I used Toxic Orb and Belly Drum to make my Snorlax faint. Someone in the comments came up with a 200 IQ strategy of using Perish Song Belly Drum instead, which would be more consistent! I recommend using this with my Mimikyu strat as well in the future. I helps set up for Belly Drum Mega Lucario way more.

@@Bargonthedog Since Mega Evolutions were cut in gen 8, you can't use them in all formats, but they can be used in Nation Dex metagames or just gen 7/6 OU. Say, If you search 'Diancie', you'll probably see 'Diancie-Mega'. That will give you a Pokemon holding a mega stone.

Super effective in that scenario makes the arceus be treated as any type neutral to fighting, now the arceus only has to worry about what is basically a 150 power move with +6 attack :)

Absolutely. I don’t know much about the game mechanics, but I’d absolutely put together spreadsheets of all the abilities, type matchups, and all the move sets for each individual Pokémon. If I wanted to try hard it, that is.

I mean, sure, it's a perfectly viable team comp.....for playing through the game against wild pokes and braindead npc trainers. Certainly enough to get past the elite 4 of w/e game you're playing, maybe even through most of the (non-battle tower/etc) post game.

When I played, I just used Pokémon that seemed powerful and had no moves that were status based and just a variety of type moves so I can take advantage of weaknesses. I was always impressed by people who could come up with actual working strata

Huh, so I learned something from this video. For priority moves to be negated by psychic terrain, the /target/ pokémon must be grounded, even if the attacker is grounded. That's why Xatu got hit by bullet punch despite the psychic terrain. You learn something every day!

I've noticed that in these videos, the majority of the noobs don't grasp how status effects and boosts work. There's another one where a Ditto mimics something with 4x attack and paralysis and the opponent freaks out that the Ditto should be paralysed too.

Honestly if you build you team with ways to handle sweepers like this then you should be fine. Haze is literally a counter to this. Burns or paralysis would also have a good chance to stop this. Sleep could be a gamble. Forcing swaps like you suggested is also an option against set up mons as well.

@@ar8590 Copycat: user uses the last move used by a team-mate. Perish Song: All active Pokemon will faint in 3 turns if they don't switch out. Belly Drum: Azumarill used this move on the turn Perish Song killed it, so Lucario can use it on its first turn out.

Just read on another thread that apparently flying types aren’t affected by terrain (neither are mons with levitate). So the Xatu could apparently be bullet punched

the terrain protection depends on the pokemon getting attacked, not the pokemon which attcked. xatu is flying and therfore cant get psychic terrain protection and this works for other fields as well

@Julian246 Fischer if the target is on the ground (not flying type, no levitate ability, no balloon) it gets the extra damage. If target is ground then does not take the extra damage.

@Julian246 Fischer just to let you know, rising voltage damage bonus from electric terrain works differently with the 1.3x electric move damage bonus from the electric terrain. The RV bonus depends on target, the electric move damage bonus depends on the USER. e.g. zapdos using RV on zapdos -> no extra RV dmg and no extra dmg from electric terrain. regieleki using RV on zapdos -> no extra RV dmg but extra dmg from terrain. zapdos using RV on regieleki -> extra RV dmg but no extra dmg from terrain.
