this video is about a man shaming a woman for not knowing nirvana, when he himself can't comprehend the meaning to their songs. if he was a "true" nirvana fan then he wouldn't act this way towards women. and this isn't just my opinion, its what kurt EXPLICITLY SAID TO DO.
@Actually Houdini I agree 100%. Making women the butt of the joke like this is a little cringe. Also none of these grunge bands even liked the term. Nirvana wanted to be called punk rock and hard rock. Every other band just wanted to be called rock. No one IRL is calling themselves a 90s rock fan whilst only knowing of 1 90s rock song.
Songs are what u make of them, thats the beauty of music is you can make anyhting about anything you want, but when u put other peoples meanings on a song you know you like you actually take all meaning away from it that it has to yourself. What do u mean when u say the song is 'not it'... Its a great song regardless of what its about dont limit yourself

Ive never met a true grunge fan who dislikes polly. Its not the best song for a first date, but smells like teen spirit is definitely for the beginners in the music genre.
