Oh how I remember doing this 😂 20 minutes before the bus came 😂. One trip was $50 & I assumed my parents always had cash on them. I had to sit at school the entire day 😂. However met my favourite teacher who guided me into the career I’m in today !

All he did was annoy the Hell out of me with all that damn whining, and I feel sorry for his mother. I love some of the kids that Jay plays but the whiny ones get on my nerves, and the type of mom that Jay plays seems too strong and independent to have a child like that? Waking her up to complain about a field trip he could've/should've been asked her about all the times she was awake and his mom is the sole bread-winner, she might've not had $5 extra to spare? Plus, how he doesn't even listen to her about the things he's supposed to do around the house? That little smirk at the end says "I didn't even listen to what she's always telling me but I still got my way?" He doesn't care about inconveniencing his mama and she probably doesn't want to be hard on him because it's possible that she has to make up for his dad's shortcomings? I wish I had a mom like that and this is just a skit! Ijs

Jay I love your black mom skits. They hit so hard. Im mexican but my mom was just like youre character. The onky difference is i can tell your mom character actually loves her boy. My mom would've never signed even if i had told her on time. When she gave him the 5 dollars and told him that "he better have fun" it brought tears to my eyes. Don't stop making these.
It's amazing how you can make me love all the characters, especially how the mama is with her children giving them that hard discipline and love all in the same moment it's beautiful. When you can make people feel love and different emotions towards these characters, and all the while making us forget the fact that all of these characters are the same person??? that's when you know you're someone special and extra super duper talented.
This was my house for 12 years with my three boys! They have the dang field trip slip for DAYS and it gets "misplaced" until the day before or the day of....😂
This guy has so much talent it is unbelievable. He plays every character true to point. We have all seen this in our own own families for such a young guy. He knows all the ups and downs of life.
You know that reminds me of when I had a field trip for my environmental science class in 11th grade. I forgot to get my grandpa to sign the permission slip/form so I went to the class and told my teacher forgot to get my grandpa to sign the slip (to be fair there was a lot going on with all of my classes and with my family at the time). In case anyone wonders what the field trip was for, it was to go to the closest beach (which was only an hour away from my school) to release the sturgeon and other fish my class had raised as a big project. Like we were going to the beach to release the fish and other aquatic animals we had reacued/raised and celebrate the fact they survived with a barbecue beach party kinda thng, a day for my class to relax and have fun and celebrate the hard work we all did for those fish. Anyways because I had done a lot for the project myself (feeding the animals and doing a lot of research on the animals just in case anything went wrong etc) my teacher forgoed my permission slip and told the office that I'll be with her and the class the entire day, which I'm guessing the office approved of since my class worked too hard not to go on this trip and not help safely release the sturgeons and other fish back in to the sea. 😅
@@Cassxowary we didn't cook the fish. XD we raised some fish as a year long project and we had a party to celebrate the fish and other sea life we raised and it was also close to the end of the school year too so it was a last hurrah before school ended to.
When I was in school we could only go to field trips that had to do with what we where learning and not all the kids got to go. The teacher would pick.
Mine was still in middle school and I always helped her study for any major tests she had, so imagine my reaction when she tells me on the way to school that she has a mid-term exam THAT DAY. Excuse me??? You have WHAT today???? I still remember the mental and physical whiplash I got from slamming on the brakes when she told me.

This was exactly like my mom too. I hated ever having to ask her for anything. You had to try to catch her in a good mood but where you wouldn’t make her mad by bothering her. Usually I just left whatever needed to be signed on the table…but could never even dream of daring to wake her up the morning of.
I really do love this "mom" character. So many black mothers are portrayed as abusive and mean. This character is tough, and hard on her son, but ultimately is loving and guides him appropriately. She signed the form because she ultimately doesn't want him to be left out, but not before a lecture about important life skills like not procrastinating. She wanted him to know that she's irritated because his poor time management became her problem, but she didn't treat him like an inconvenience, or like she's annoyed at him for needing something from her. I see that way too much. But anyway, "You've known for 12 days?!" took me back lol.

Honestly, we are all more alike than we realize. It’s more a class thing or maybe it’s a regional or urban thing…but my mom was exactly like Jay’s characters despite us being white and not black. But his dialogue could have been word for word transcript of my mom back in the day.
Not me. I get bad sinus headaches from even having the ceiling fan on or a draft from a nearby window. I sleep with 80 degrees plus in the summer. Hard to do, but not as bad as those headaches
