I totally feel you, it's like when it does happen, my brain goes into overdrive, considering the factors why he'd make a move-- then i start getting paranoid. Maybe if I reciprocate, he'll laugh at me behind my back with his friends? or do i seem so gullible and naive they just need the fun out of easily luring me (because I'm THAT not much overall)? or they are just trying to boost their own ego and it's not even about me? ....until it kills the excitement i had just by being noticed, then i'll assume they may be douchebags. it's difficult to reconcile with myself that maybe, just maybe, i can be attractive in some way. i just don't see it myself because I judge my flaws way too much. i hate insecurities, but it feels like i'm trapped in it.

As funny as this video is, the saddest part is her genuine belief that a guy "that hot" could perceive her in the same way...Why do we do that to ourselves? We've all seen our fair share of what society deems "unusual couple pairings", to the point that we should know that the are no "leagues" and people just like what and who they like. And yet, if an attractive guy/girl flirts with us, we question how someone can see us in a way that is so unlike the critical way we view ourselves.

When I was going through my awkward phase in middle school, I was really ugly and the boys would always pick on me because of my appearance. One of the things that they would do is dare one of their buddies to come up to me and flirt with me as a joke. They thought it was funny because I was the ugly girl. That affected me to this very day, and now whenever a guy flirts with me or compliments me, I think that they're making fun of me and I feel horrible about myself for the rest of the day.

I tip my head to this guy to say honestly that and why he´s flirting, there would be a lot of guys that just get up and leave because they don´t get that girls can be really insecure. (Edit: If this girl had red hair, she would be me. Literally talked with a guy in the store and my mom was like "Oh he was flirting with you" and I looked at her like she told me I was a guy all my life.
