I love the idea of a cat door! If for some reason, a fire should start in the house, the cats have a way to escape the house. It's also nice to have because you don't have to worry about opening the exterior door to keep letting them in and out whenever they want. Unfortunately, Maine Coons love to go outside. My Maine Coon (Cooley) goes out on the deck all the time, but I always have to let him in and out, whenever he pleases. Cooley has that distinct Maine Coon "Me-Yowl" to let me know when he wants to go out or come in.😂 Everybody, please have a great weekend at Maine Coon Central, and God Bless.

We never had a cat door for any of the furbabies. When Bear or Sassy wanted to go outside they would find their leash and wait until it was clipped to the collar, then off we'd go. I hope you're able to get the door to work so the kids can enjoy the fresh air. I 'm still debating if I want to take Lightfoot outside. At times he acts like he'd like to out. Then other times he gives me his, 'you have got to be kidding,' look.

Those things are garbage.
