Well, this video doubles the 'tritium quota' for the year so far. I am still chasing the unicorn of a cheap and decent everyday tritium watch though. With a few tweaks each, these two would be possibilities, and on leather, are getting close. What is going on with the bracelets though? Who designed that? Cheers, Jody

The dial of the quartz watch looks like a circular bar code. The search continues. Keep up the good work Jody.

As a Chemist, I have always been cautious of budget or discount Tritum. Whenever I see it I just assume the tritium vials are older. The main thing to remember with Tritium is that 12.5-year half-life, and the countdown starts as soon as that vial is sealed off. So if the vial winds up sitting around unused for a few years, that's a good chunk of its useful life you can never get back.

@@ED-od6hy The T rating is for the amount of Tritium in the tubes. More = brighter. Half life is the same regardless.

I love my Traser watch, fully lumed dial plus Tritium tubes and sapphire glass, lights up everything. It was around $400 though, if someone is looking for super cheap. I love tritium tube watches and have a number of them: Luminox, Isobrite, Armourlite, Nite, and Traser. Last summer I got the same Yelang you highlight here (the second one), the exact same pilot watch. I chose the black version because I only have the Traser in black metal but bigger, and the resin-type case Luminox and armourlite. I had the same problem with the bracelet and could NOT size it because of the micro issue. So I bought a "Barton Elite Silicone band", in black, with quick release pins and it works GREAT (with multiple lug sizes available). I absolutely love this watch and wear it often, even more than my Traser and Luminox watches (which are also black). It is very legible and not big or heavy - just right. IMPORTANT note: with tritium watches, some T-25 and some T-100, I can tell you that this Yelang watch is NOT as bright as a T-100 as with other manufacturers; it's more like a T-25. My Isobrite is a T-100 and my Armourlite is a T-25, both higher quality and more expensive watches, but from the same company. This Yelang T-100 is like the T-25 Armourlite or cheaper Lumiinox, not the T-100 Isobrite.

@Wall2157
@Wall2157 3 года назад
Hey Jody! Regarding the “10-year battery” claim of the pilot styled Yelang, Ronda does make a modified 515 movement that uses a lithium cell (most often a CR2032) instead of the standard 370/371 (SR920). Now 10 years may be a stretch, but with a watch that only displays the time and the date, it would certainly last a good long while. I am an apprentice watchmaker, and we see these movements all the time when servicing quartz watches. Typically, they are in watches with more complications.
@mistersilly9012

I bought an Epoch 6029G from the Quick Fashion Watch store on AliE. The case isn’t going to win any awards, but the textured dial is quite nice and reminds you of the Aqua Terra and the handset does it justice. The movement is the Sea-Gull ST2130 which is outstanding. There’s an option for the ETA 2824, but I like the ST2130 so we’ll I don’t think it’s worth the extra money. I liked it so well I bought a second in white to go with my blue one. I got one on the bracelet and one on leather, but swapped out both for custom leather. The supplied leather is your typical Chinese leather strap so nothing special. The bracelet isn’t bad. The crown is NOT screw down as the ad suggests making the 100m of WR a bit suspect. Very comfortable on wrist with T25 that is almost too bright at night.

The hands I've had replaced recently because I beat on the thing so long they fell off, the original indices are certainly faded but easily legible in the dark still, and I'd say still would be adequate at even half of today's level. It's been a great watch but I wouldn't buy a newer Luminox (first hand experience to say that).

10 year old Tritium doesn't glow anymore (at least not to a level that the human eye will see). The Tritium in my TA01NSN ACOG went out after about 8-9 years.

Deep Blue: probably too big for most folks at 45mm, but they have a 41mm "Tritdiver". On a rubber strap it is nominally $330, but the discount code "Blue" seems to work all the time and drops the price 40%. At $200 they are good value - the rubber straps are pretty good too.

Check out Deep Blue watches they have a tritium diver. 41mm, $333 on leather, $416 on steel. Usually a 40,% off code like deep or cyber will work. Good quality watches.

This is the first time that I see fake micro adjustments on the clasp 😂. The question is: why???

Because those clasps are mass produced by slave labor.

Bought a t25 equipped diver from Amazon about 2 or 3 years ago for £164. It's branded "i.Concept" ; a marathon homage, 42mm diameter, 50mm lug to lug, 22mm lug width, all stainless steel, claims 200m water resistance, a rather substantial and nicely gnarled screw down crown, solid screw link bracelet with solid male end links, flat sapphire with anti-reflective coating, nh35, limited to 3000 apparently (might be true as no longer on sale and never seen elsewhere), maddening 90 click unidirectional spring and ball bezel which is nicely lumed but with such poor action and OCD inducing misalignment. I thought it was a bargain, I do wear it as a daily, very robust, very accurate, very heavy (could be used as a weapon!); the bezel annoys me but over all I'm glad I bought it. I am looking for another diver with a better bezel and excellent lume though and am very tempted with a few steeldives.

Deep Blue makes a number of tritium tube dial divers. Mostly very chunky, but excellent water resistance to go with the size. Very reasonable price for the quality and specs.

Love the look of these watches. Tritium is usually a premium so it's nice to see it at this price point. May have to slip them a message to see if I can get one in for review.

Check out the Jack Mason AOPA Pilot’s Chronograph, Jody; it’s big, but it’s got 100m water resistance, chronograph complication, a 12-hour second time zone bezel,, date complication, and good tritium in a legible flieger layout for under $500.

Hi Jody, you should take a look at Aragon watches out of Florida. They ues the t100 tritium tubes in some of their watches. They offer large watches 45 to 50 mm but recently introduced 42 mm ones. All appear to be well made.

Ronda 715 Li is the movement. I have the same watch - in mine, they use the "Swiss Made" version, which is better than the "Swiss Parts" version of the movement. It uses a CR2016 battery.

Even more likes and comments to feed the algorithm. And, with no relationship at all to this review, have you seen the new Oris 65s ? Pastel pink , powder baby blue, - and pale green dials- with bronze cases and bracelets ?? They're called the " Cotton Candy" releases. Looking forward to your review !

My man needs to show Aragon some love, generally speaking. They have been catering to folks who like more reasonably sized watches lately and imo knocking it out of the park.

I got a bracelet off of Ali that had those shoulders that made the micro adjust unusable. I filed them down and now it works. It's helpful to put it in a vice. But it was stupid that I had to do that; it's a clear design flaw. Either way, the tritium is a showstopper for me.

I did have a Luminox with a Swiss Rhonda movement that had a 10 yr battery. Sorry, I can’t remember the movement number. I will not get tritium again unless it is t00. The Luminox blew me away at first, but then I got a few Seikos that made the t35 tubes seem horrible. Some day, I hope to have tritium again. I have been considering some of the Nite t100 models. Good luck finding yours Jody!

Jody you should give Aragon Watches a try. Now granted they are BIGGER in size from 45mm to 50mm but they wear very nice even if you have small wrist. I have their bioluminescence and a full lume dial divemaster

I once had cheap Marathon mechanical watch and managed to break the spring as I was winding it. Last 10 years my 24/7 watch barring special occasions has been Nite MX10 with stainless strap. Not the cheapest nor the best I think but very robust and at least to my eye it looks good enough.
