I'd like to show you my incisions for a mini facelift that I perform. I start the incision inside the sideburns making certain to hide the incision in the hair, so that when the hair grows back the incision is hidden. Then the incision comes down in front of the ear, just hugging the natural wrinkle line and goes into the ear just behind the tragus so it's not visible, and then back down again into the natural wrinkle and around the ear lobe, and stops just behind the ear lobe, does not go much further than that. The reason the incision is made that way, is because all we're trying to accomplish is a natural vector up and back. If all we're trying to create is a loss of the jowling and a natural jaw line. We don't need to do much more than that.
Does it pull from under here too? Or is it just mainly for the upper part of the face?
It pulls up the whole back. It pulls up the face, and gives us a natural jaw, and brings up. So, we're not pulling just front to back, we're pulling back and up. And creating that sort of result.
