It's not that Joe finally snapped or went full monster this season, this IS the real Joe. This twist changes the whole perspective of the show. We know he's the bad guy and we think we know why (he's obsessed with the idea of love), but Joe uses love as an excuse to do awful things so he can rewrite himself as a protector. Why does he keep trophies of his victims if he was reluctant to kill them? He's always attracted to women surrounded by dysfunction and chaos.

Writing of this show is actually insane as anybody realize that the scenes with marienne telling story to her daughter in paris that they showed in this episode actually happen after marienne was saved by nadia from the glass cage in the season finale but we won't notice until finale as we don't yet know at this point that marienne gonna be saved or not from joe's cage we just think this scenes are her imagination while being trapped in glass cage🙌

I think the show does a great job at balancing rooting and sympathizing with Joe in contrast of showing that he is not a good person at all and is indeed a monster. This season was fire

what i liked about this season is how the writers aren’t romanticizing joe like the previous seasons, they’ve done a good job showing how unhinged he is this season.

Assuming you already watched the finale, I genuinely believe Netflix realised the controversy of Jeffrey Dahmer, and decided to finally make Joe the irredeemable villain he always has been, and now I assume season 5 will be about all of the survivors teaming up to take on a super wealthy and powerful Joe.

Does anyone else feel like this twist just throws all 7 episodes in the trash. None of it matters. The story of Rhys threatening to out Joe if he doesn't do his bidding, I thought was great. But it was all fake. Joe had no good reason to kill any of those people, the reasoning of them being in the way of Rhys becoming mayor wasn't real, and he imagined an entire text and in person conversation. This isn't even a twist we were all just baited. The things that they used to create tensions, and drama, and to get you to watch the show, all wasn't real. There was no hidden truth to anything, it was all just fake and then they spoon fed you a ton of brand new information in one episode. Other shows hav definitely done this way better

I thought Joe changed in some ways but he’s actually gotten worse in many areas which I didn’t know was possible and now YOU season 4 Is the same as the other seasons which makes it boring even tho the plot twist is extremely good.

This plot twist was sooooo ass! Joe hasn't used murder as a first resort or maliciously killed anyone since season 1. Now, all of a sudden, he can't control himself? His whole fued with Love for the past 2 seasons was about self-control.

This episode is where the show lost me. The Fight Club twist turned me off, found it lazy. Had there actually been a killer messing with Joe like the season made you think was happening, it would have been more interesting than the killer still being Joe.
