For people who think he left the sheath on purpose....what would then be the point of cleaning his car, wearing gloves, discarding trash in a neighbor's house? What would be the point in wanting to get caught, yet also covering his tracks?

Well, golly gee, he left a few things behind at the scene. Like his knife sheath and a witness. Because he had to wait to enter the house longer than what he probably planned, he may have gotten sloppy. He might not have even noticed the sheath missing from his belt until after the Xana and Ethan murders. We don't know that he knew Dylan saw him. But, I think he returned approx 9 am to see if he could get that sheath back. He sat there thinking about it, trying to figure out if he could get in, find it, and get out. His route was "crazy" because he was trying to conceal something - getting rid of evidence, the weapon, clothing, etc.? He sure wasn't sight seeing.

Hi Vinny, I heard a lawyer recently refer to the Leopold and Loeb case in 1924. It was supposed to be the perfect murder by 2 criminology students in Chicago. They were brilliant minds but one of the knuckle heads dropped a pair of glasses at the scene. Blunders happen even to those who think they can pull off the perfect crime. Bryan probably came back at 9 to the crime scene because he realized he dropped/lost the stealth.

They oughta offer a cash award for the finder of the knife.

I think he went back to try and grab the sheath and also check if he could get some reactions from people getting out. Narcisists love to do things and press your buttons to get a reaction out of you.

i believe he wanted to create this perfect bloodbath massacre mystery as a project then analyze how the media and detectives go about trying to solve it. then who knows maybe he have a full blown debate discussion with his classmates and professor about it

Maybe he realized he forgot the knife sheath and wanted to go back for it? Seems like an awfully risky move to go back the same morning.

He returned to see the chaos he created and probably wondered why cops weren't there. He could have realized that he didn't have the knife sheath, and maybe he thought he dropped it outside? They said he spent 10 minutes there, so maybe he was looking for it? This guy's a real piece of work. Knowing he was stalking one or more of the girls for weeks is really creepy. I believe he left the knife in the river or possibly buried it near the area. Why else would he even be there?

he seems quite confident at his court hearing but he had no idea the detectives and fbi were on to him weeks prior collecting evidence, he thought coming to idaho to exonerate his name was going to be a cake walk then get released, nope🤣

You shouldn't say he is the murderer. So far, he is the alleged killer. You are NOT a psychiatrist to diagnose him at all, either !! And the location the tower gives covers at least 2 - 3 miles !! Look for another JOB if you have any dignity left

It’s weird the timeline kinda lines up with him going somewhere far away like where Johnson, ID pulls up - the phone being off for 3ish hours. But with them saying in the same area he was immediately after the crime, I think she’s right. Maybe he went back to where he dumped the knife to see if he dropped the sheath?

The murderer went back the next morning to retrieve the sheath. He didn’t find it because he may have felt rushed and nervous, it may have been under something.

Your reporter should reach out to game wardens and hunters in the area to see if any trail, game or wildfire cameras are along those roads

LOL...I am from there and went to college there...too much sensationalism...there is a lot of people there and they look out for each other or so they did when I went to school there. I am just glad that the police did as good job as they did. It is rolling hills and dense wooded areas...Just let the experts take care of this....respect the victims...

I will give you All a Hint. That first River crossing 95 as he left the scene going South. Try the opposite side of bridge than his lane. He was likely vibing without the sheath, still dark, and far enough away. The FBI should offer a Reward for the weapon. I bet the magnet fishermen could find it faster...

I would love to know if the police have gone so far as to compare the cell data from each of the roommates phones to that of Brian's data, in order to see if they ever pinged in the same place at the same time other than at their home! Maybe that could lead to a motive or an answer to who he was stalking and if it was before he stalked the home.

So this is a MAJOR mistake in the Affidavit. They don't think he went towards Nez-Perce Clearwater National Forest to dispose of the weapon between 5:30 pm and 8:30 pm where there aren't as many cell towers. There is a Johnson Idaho. Between Weippe and Peirce on highway 11. Zip code is 83553.

He wasnt very smart because he went the long long way back to Pullman. There is a likely road that goes from Moscow to Pullman. He could be home in 15 minutes instead of that long loop. On that long loop there are a lot of marshy/boggy areas to get rid of weapon.

It depends on where cell towers are located and how many towers are around ( pings). It doesn’t always reflect a real route if there aren’t many towers especially in rural areas.

Everyone available should volunteer to search and find that knife & clothing/shoes etc. I pray to God, it's found and turned into LE. These officers, FBI team have done such a Amazing job in this, Lord please in your name, let this evidence be found, Amen

My theory: Bryan Kohberger went to the Greek restaurant where two of the girls worked and ordered vegan. They serve vegan. He tried to make conversation like he did at the Seven Siren Bar in PA, (where he tried to pick up women asking them their names, and where they live, and do they live alone). His creepy comments got him rejected , as well in Moscow, Idaho at Mike's Greek Restaurant. He starts following one of the girls on social media afterwards, because he doesn't take rejection well. Then starts following not just Maddie and Kaylee, but also Xana. He finds out where they live, and their home is a very popular PAR TY HOUSE. I live in Moscow, Idaho and the University kids will tell you it was a Party House. It's even likely he walked in on one of those parties, (as he surveyed them at night and at early morning hours) at least 12 times. It's possible he showed up on a Saturday night, and just walked in and cased the lay-out of the interior. He decides to stalk the girls for 5 months studying their habits online, at the Greek Restaurant, and parking out side of their home or driving by at least 12 times. He chooses 11/13 for his murder date. Some people have connected that with the number 13, or the same date as the Amityville Horror murders, or the fact Kaylee was going to move the next day and he was running out of time. He drove the rural long way to the murder scene on 11/13 to avoid surveillance cameras. He used a knife because it would be harder to trace, easier to dispose of, and would give him the desired effect of a "horror movie." He made several crucial mistakes, one leaving the sheath at the scene. This shows he wasn't used to owning or using a knife. Most hunters or men have knives in a sheath wearing it on a belt. When he flipped the button clip it was already in his hand ready to use, not on a belt. However lucky for LE and the public, he forgot the sheath within the midst of the killings. I believe in his state of adrenaline shock he didn't notice Dylan who I believe wasn't standing at the door, but was looking through a crack. It was dark inside the house. He can't sleep so he drives to Clarkston, WA gets coffee and goes to Albertsons, then returns again to the crime scene at 9: 30 AM to observe if LE has been called. He then leaves. 5 Days later he tries to register his car with WA license plates to throw off the cops.

THE DAM AT GRANITE LAKE. (Lower Granite Dam) If his phone shuts off for 3 hrs after pinging in Johnson that means we need to 📌 locations within a 60min to 90min radius and Google directions to them as he surely must have. He would likely have had to at least have downloaded directions to where he was going before he lost cell signal again. I bet that's what he was doing for those 3 minutes from 5:32pm to 5:36pm Which means he literally left a map to where he likely left the knife and bloody items. What a dmf and also thank God he's so freakin dumb. LE have his cell and other electronics. Smh. This guy should beg for a plea bargain. What's within 60min to 90min of Johnson? Factoring in wet snowy road conditions and he was driving a low profile 2 wheel drive vehicle 50 to 60 min. Just checked. The Granite Dam is 52 min from Johnson. Super remote, not a lot of people. It looks like you can drive across the dam. There's Hydro energy equipment which means they probably have security cams and other footage and have to archive it. There may even be cams surrounding the reservoir if it's a source of drinking water that needs to be protected.

I think he went back to the Scene thinking the Sheath was Dropped by where his Car was Parked or between the House and his Car. He probably Knew this would get him Caught.

if they dont find the knife theres a plausible chance he gets off with a burglary charge if they find a jury pool that has not heard about this case or cant find proof that bryon purchased the knife sheath that was left behind.....the sheath was left behind because he had a struggle with one of the victims

Unknown purchases from the store? They know EXACTLY what he bought so those items must be relevant to the case against him.

The defendant is not very bright, considering he has a PHD in Criminal Justice! Leaving his phone on, driving his car, ignoring all the security cameras ,leaving the sheath to the murder weapon with his DNA all over it! Did he want to be caught? I know someone is innocent until proven guilty, but still. The only thing I worry about, is all the publicity and discussion about the case, could make it difficult for him to get a fair trial. Also, looking at his counsel, is she experienced in handling such a momentous case? Here in the UK, the defendant would not only be appointed a lawyer, but a Barrister experienced in handling these sorts of cases. My condolences to the family, friends and community affected by the tragedy of 4 young lives taken before they achieve their dreams and potential. I am sure they would have contributed much to society.

Stalking crimes are much more prevalent now because of social media and technology. I would even add that social media may create a stalker out of someone who would never have been a stalker if it weren’t for the ease we have today. Technology is a double edged sword in the fact that it can be used for good and evil. It will be interesting to finally hear how Kohberger and these victims lives crossed. Was there any direct and/or indirect contact. Was it just social media searches? Did he see them in a social gathering (bar, college party)? I strongly suggest all parents of college students and the students themselves follow this case and pay close attention to the facts. This way they can develop a plan to better protect themselves in the future. There are specific things that if these victims would have done, their lives would likely have been saved or at least gave them a better chance of survival. God rest their souls.

The same type of murder occurred up north in Oregon not too long ago. . Not too far away and almost picture perfect to the Moscow, Idaho murders. Could it be that Kohberger committed multiple murders in various states???

So if he had left his phone at home during his killerspree, then he could have claimed someone else stole his knife that of course would have his dna on it because it's his, and stole his car? People are so attached to their phones that it doesn't even struck them that they could once in a while leave it at home,especially if they have MURDER as their hobby...

I bet he cleaned the sheath well but all it takes is one skin cell. The sheath is from an army knife maybe to make cops think its a military guy.

So, he didn't realize his sheath insisted on being absent from the rest of the slaughter, eh? For as long as he planned this, to be conscientious enough to flip off the cell phone prior to leaving Pullman, yet be absolutely careless by turning it back on shortly after the macabre addles me. In a panicky exile from King Rd, I can see traffic infractions and other things that indicate sloppy confusion, but just how could he make a mistake like this? He couldve left his cell at home and off all night, then claimed he woke up the next morning and recharged it, let's say. Just flummoxed by such a counter-productive move with respect to his cell. My only hunch is he was certain he was spotted and turned it on anticipating an encounter with police. Maybe to call mom n dad-- with a 3-hr time difference by then, they'd be likely awake. Who knows?

Thanks for clearing up the info about Johnson. Had looked on maps and Google for Johnson, Idaho and was curious where they were talking about. Now that they have his car won’t they be able to use the GPS to see more specifically where he was during that time down south and while his cell phone was off? If they can retrace where the car went I think they have a chance of finding the knife and bloody clothes.

I think that B. went to Johnson ID just as the PCA stated. I don't think that was a mistake. More than one person probably reads and signs off on the PCA before it's release, so I am going to believe what they said since they have not come out and said it was an error. Also, I think Johnson WA would be just 'too close to home' for B. to want to ditch incriminating evidence there. I also don't think if he was going to do that there it would necessitate him going dark with no phone tracking for over 3 hours. He could have done what he wanted and gone home in far less time. I think that he was indeed in Johnson ID, where there is a national forest, possibly to dispose of evidence there, or for some other unknown (by us) reason.

Why does everyone in this video mispronounce affidavit? The last letter is a T. You could at least expect an experienced lawyer to be able to pronounce it.

I don't think any of us can really see in his mind. He evidently thought he was smarter than everyone else. To me, that shows he is a cold ruthless killer whose ego is bigger than we can imagine.

What about the fact that the direct route out of his apt complex was closed, due to the accident that occurred right outside his apt causing the roads to be closed by WSU Police & ISP from 11:40 PM to past 5:30 AM? It’s verified by multiple sources. Carmen Fernandez was charged & it can be verified by her case in Whitman as well. That route to Clarkston seems perfectly explainable if he has legitimate reasons to be in Clarkston - side gig, girl from Tinder, internship, research. The route to Clarkston that was available that night is less than 10 mins longer straight S. from Pullman. By the time you take the only way out of his apt that night, it’d take longer to backtrack to the way that’s normally faster. The detour that was est. that night makes the faster route the one that takes you through Moscow, Blaine, and Genese - all mentioned in the PCA. Look at the dif in car body around the fog lights in 2011-2013 vs 2015 Elantras. It’s not likely that an FBI examiner w/35 yrs xp ID’ing cars would make that mistake. Therefore it’s not likely that all of the cars in the videos are a 2015 Elantra. Given the fully explainable route & phone pings if he were simply headed to Clarkston, I don’t find the videos or phone pings (or lack thereof) suspicious.

Could the knife be in Snake River? I hope the Police and investigators look into and on everything in that to and from routes.

Look at the tail light on Bryans Car, notice anything different about this car than the ones in the video's they claim was BK's... The difference is, the car shown in all those video have something only the 2011 Elantra's have.. Amber lights in the rear.. they seem to be absent from Bryans car because it is a 2015 and amer light were not an option. You also may want to look at the Video of the car they say was Bryans.. Do you see a difference ? The car shown in the hood had rounded head light assemble and no Amber Lights... The Elantra has tear shaped headlight assy and also has amber lights on the point of the tear drop. I worked as a Journeyman' for over 30 years. The differences in the car cannot be refuted.

That cell phone tracking is really what confirms he did it !

What strikes me is the lack of trees in the Idaho’s area. In Ireland except in the West. There are so many deciduous trees like oak ash birch these are our natural trees. We have imported conifers from Sweden or Norway and planted them for fast growing wood providers ie pine. In the west the Atlantic Ocean brings strong winds so trees cannot flourish. I find western Ireland very bleak, lonely wet and miserable and am baffled that tourists go there. I lived there for 6 years . I recommend County Wicklow on the East Coast. Visit Dublin first then County Wicklow the Glen of the Down’s the Glen View Hotel Istopping at Hunters Hotel a lovely old Coach House, Brittas Bay a lovely Beach, the monastic area of Glendalough , the round tower. the lake and the beauty is spectacular. I live in County Louth North of Co Wicklow which is south of County Dublin.

What I’d like to know is if the area where his phone does dark is known for losing cell signal.

He’s a first year PhD student…..he started this route in August….that seems he had this plan before or as soon as he got there…that’s a lot of premeditation. It also seems his victims were random.

Instead of crucifying the surviving roommate for not calling the police after they were already passed is actually irrelevant bc they wouldn’t have been saved …how about we appreciate the fact that she lived through it and was the ONLY person that could give a description of the killer AND provide authorities with information on what she heard. That is a big deal and she made it easier for authorities to find their guy… also, more information will come out later that should provide clarity… Edit: I’m actually sickened by how insensitive many of you are. That YOUNG lady experienced horrific trauma after what happened to her roommates where they rest their heads and y’all are just being so disgusting… I hope survivors remorse and the public’s lack of sensitivity towards her actions (that did not kill or save anyone either way) do not drive her to expire herself. God forbid something so rare and terrifying happens to any of you or a loved one… I wouldn’t wish that on anyone. For the VICTIMS family to even ask the public to stop bad mouthing the survivor says a whole lot… especially with them knowing a bit more than we do… & y’all just can’t help yourselves. Please tell me how her calling the police in what you would consider a timely manner would have saved a life in THIS situation……..
