This thing used to give me actual nightmares when I was way younger. (The grainy picture). The nightmare I used to have was me walking outside walking in a alleyway and I would see the back of smile dog. When I came a little bit closer, smile dog turned his head around and my vision zoomed in on his face. That was it.

I showed my grandpa the deep fried one knowing he would have a fresh take on it. He said it looked like a T-Rex. I'll never unsee.

I guess I wasn’t the only one who always felt eerily creeped out by it as a kid. I vividly remember when I first saw it in a video and then not 30 seconds later I realised in order to get upstairs I had to go through a pitch black hallway, where I still had the image burned into my mind. That shit haunted me for months, it was terrible. I still get a bit shook whenever it jump scares me or appears with no warning, but when I look closer it’s details slowly fall apart and you can easily tell how edited it is, Nevertheless it’s still hella creepy and the artist did a fantastic job

I'm going to be honest, in terms of scariness, the grainy one is the best for me. It's clear to see it's a dog with a creepy smile. The background adds with the scariness. Although the deep fried one is kinda messy. It doesn't even look like a dog for me and it never scared me not even the 1st time I saw it. Grainy - 8/10 Deep Fried - 5/10 That's just my opinion but honestly the deep fried one doesn't give me any scary vibes, unlike the Grainy one.

The reason why the head might look off in some places is because it was also reverted, other than that its a pretty perfect fit once you flip the image backwards

the grainy one was the real image... the real story is that... once upon a time in an office someone had hacked all pc and was sent this photo to each and every pc of the office with the description that this photo must be forwarded to the next person or bad luck will fall upon y'all... and they didn't believe it... it actually happened!!! the were suffering with huge loss in their business!!! so thats how this photo was spread on the internet.... i hope this helps you

Hello!! I'm glad I found this video, I used to live next to the dog in the grainy photo, I cant find the source image of the original, but I remember seeing it, especially the inside of the house.

Idk if you still check comments, but i've been on email with Michael Lutz and he confirmed that the deep fried one is the original "it wasnt supposed to look like a dog, only resemble it". He also confirmed it was a composite photo made out of several others, most notably "dark room" you would find on google images years ago, but refused to share it.

Smile Dog Deep Fried Theory my theory: the person used the WHOLE face for the deep fried smile dog. because, the eyes for the face and the nose was made with the same dog, start with the nose of the original husky, and line it up with the outside or white part the nose is on top of, as well, the curtain was into a tinted red, the smile was used to also make the dog, they did it by having it stick to the lower part of it's face, and lined it around the black spaces with red, and for me it's possible to see the red lines. Also, if you look really closely, the black parts on the side of the dog and the white line between the husky's eyes really match well together. what about the ears? the ears were erased, as i have not seen any ears for smile dog according to my calculations. but, there are 2 white lines on top sides of the dog, do you think that could be the erased ears?

I think that the grainy dog picture might a digital paint drawing than something photoshoped, seeing on how everything blends well, for example check out the batman arkham knight graphic novel, it kinda looks similar to that.

OK, so the deep fried one goes for scary, but the grainy one goes for creepy!

The “grainy” image I believe is the original. The origin I’ve heard is that if you even seen the photo (just one little glance) it will drive you mad. If you fall asleep the same dog will be standing at your bed frame saying the phrase “spread the word” indicating that it wants to drive others mad. And the only way to get rid of it is to spread the word. Reposts of the image won’t drive the person mad as it has to be the original posted image. So you probably won’t have to spread the word lmao.

Can you do "where did this image come from" on Momo please? I was terrified of Momo and i discovered momo when i was a kid. I couldnt sleep for days and it was my big sisters fault because i wanted to see a bird that was named Momo or something close to that so my sister looked it up and went into images and there i saw Momo.

I was looking around and found a brighten version of the grainy image, claiming it was the original picture. I saw a comment noticing the text “Po!”, asking what it was. I wonder if anyone else has noticed how there seems to be text. I think that if it was text, maybe it was sharpy or even added on in some version. Maybe it’s a private photo which was edited, it is from 4chan after all.

I remember back in 2014 I saw a post of the origin image of the "grainy one". A yellowish grainy picture of a husky barking at the camera in a room with windows. I don't know how legit it is, and the fact that you haven't found it make me wonder further.

Unrelated to the goofy mutt, but the curtains picture is actual liminal space material, it makes me feel comfortable and slightly unsettled at the same time.
