When Spain discovered large silver mines in New Spain and the Vice-royalty of Peru, Spain produced the Eight Real silver coin as the world first international currency. Our Silver Dollar is based on this and others copied it for trade with China where Chinese merchants were accustomed to accept the "Ocho Reales" silver coin. The Spanish coins were based on eights, and this is where we get the ''two bits'' as quarter of a dollar.

The S .. From Spain .. Was used on some Spanish Empire coins since the 1500's. The S had 2 collums on top-- like it is in the Spain Coat of Arms. The Spanish currency was accepted in all USA up to year of 1857. USA west was full of Spanish pure silver coins due it was part of Spain for 2 centuries. USA them reduced the symbol to only one colum instead. An easy and cheap to do change to the minting machines in 1857.

I don't understand why people write "Czechia". Official name of Czech republic is STILL called Czech republic. Czechia is short (and terrible) version of Czech republic. Like in everyday conversation you don't say "Federal Republic of Germany" but you say "Germany" or "Slovak Republic" but "Slovakia" or "United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northen Ireland" but "UK/United Kingdom/Great Britain/England(if you want to piss off irish/scottish/walesh?)" etc.

The dollar is coming from the Spanish currancy. The $ it means Spain + the 2 columns of Hercules (plus vltra)

The s is there serpent (satan) and the lines are the pillars of hercules as gate to the other world. It is also used in masonry.

I only know that it looks like the following combination of letters... I S B D P (in reverse) As in the government "DIPS" into your wallet and "BIDS" on other alleged money-making schemes (gambles) on your behalf and under your name.

+Dennis Fluttershy I feel that has to do with the fact that when the countries were united they were CzechoSLOVAKIA. Making it easier for the 🇸🇰Slovak Republic🇸🇰 to have a toponym (the common name of countries) unlike with 🇨🇿Czechia🇨🇿.
