I was a cashier for a summer and got a $2 bill once. My boss didn't know what to with it so I traded him my 2 singles for the 2. I still have it in my wallet years later.
I don't get the idea behind this. Most $2 bills aren't rare. Especially the ones most people spend. You can literally go to a bank and change out $5,000 for a bunch of $2 bills. You can buy rolls of uncut $2 bills from the treasuries website...What is the idea behind cashiers so desperately wanting a $2 bill? I suppose that's why they're just cashiers and not the managers.
People just don't see them too often, and rarely bother to go out of the way to exchange money at the bank for $2 bills. So like for me, I keep them like a collector's item whenever I receive one, even though I know they're common enough. It's just something different in life
I WAS ALSO A CASHIER..AND ONE DAY MY BOSS TOLD MI THAT I GOT A $20.00 DOLLAR BILL (FAKE)...SHE DID NOT KNOW THAT IN HAWAII..THE $20.00 GOT THE LOGO IN BIG LETTERS...HAWAII...IN THE BACK!! SHE WAS WRONG!!
When I worked in fast food I always put them in the farthest left slot and then used them as needed when I ran low on one $1 bills. Same with half dollar and one dollar coins.
There are five slots just like said this video so there's a slot for them in between the ones and fives if someone needs $3 in change you give them a $2 bill and a $1 bill
The reason why she got arrested (she didn't) is because the counterfeit pen didn't work on it so they thought it was counterfeit. Honestly the dumbest part about that story is not the fact that the police came it's that she spent it in the first place.
Here's a good topic for you to make a video on... businesses that use $2 bills regularly (like the magic shop), to make themselves stand out in the marketplace and make themselves memorable. It's a great, cheap, marketing ploy. I remember a strip club in Greenville, SC that gave $2 bills are charge after charging their cover to get in. I'll always remember that place.
Great idea, Paul. BUT... I already did one about businesses using $2 bills: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-GqS-_JdA_L8.html There's also a video on this channel which is a clip from the full film (also on this channel) about $2 bills in strip clubs. But I like the way you think! Any more good ideas? Send 'em my way! I'm sure you can come up with something that would be a good topic for a $2 bill video.
Love how you end your video with footage of $2 bills at the BEP! Sends a more clear message that: Yes, this is a real thing. $2 bills aren't rare. Spend them.
I have a two dollar bill that I got for the store, I will not spend it because It means so much to me. I also just got some for my family as 🎁 , can’t wait.
The average USA cash drawer till has 5 bills/5 coins slots. So, you have 1, 5, 10, 25, 50 cent slots (cups). You may find a lower tray with slots for checks, credit card receipts, $1 coins, rolled coins, and other. There are also other combinations like; 4 bills / 5 coins, 4 bills / 8 coins, 5 bills / 8 coins, etc.
Dude that is fucking bull shit cool kid. This is practically discrimination base on geographical location. Honestly you should go back in, record it all, then sue and win the court case. I know this cause yes, I am a lawyer, and sadly, this case happens more than you would think, the media just likes to hide all this from the government.
Striker yeah I know, I tried spending a -7 dollar bill, and they wouldnt take it so I sued them and ate their cookies, the case lasted for 49 years before their lawyers died of old age and so we won, afterwards we stole the pants of Donald Trump
Daisy and Mario Dude: They are NOT rare! You can have a lucky one, but you can also go to the bank and get many more. They still make them and there are over 1.2 billion of them out there.
I collected $2 bills for at least 20years, and wheat pennies too. Unfortunately they were all stolen from my home. Sometimes people suggest I try a bank to replace them but I feel silly, like it would be cheating in a way. I want them to cross my path by chance/good fortune.
If you have a 5 note till you should have slots for 1, 2, 5, 10 & 20, the 50 & 100's can go underneath as you don't need quick access to them for change, they'll be going to the bank. If you only have a 4 note till then keep 1's & 2's together.
My parents (NOT THE TOOTH FAIRY) gave me a $2 bill for the second tooth that I lost when I was 5 or 6 (I’m now 17). That is the only one I have ever received and I keep it in my wallet for safe keeping.
as a cashier, I always leave my 2nd slot out of the 5 for $2 bills. I love spending them, but I never recieve them. hopefully one day everyone will start using $2 bills as much as they do with $1 bills
All the registers I've used as a cashier have had four slots. I put the $2s, $20s, $50s, and $100s, in that order, in the slot furthest to the left. Usually I exchange the $2 for two $1s since it makes tallying up the money for the shift report easier.
A couple years ago for my Dad’s Birthday we bought something at a Walgreens and they gave us a $2 and we gave that to my dad too and he still has it and will never spend it
We hear that kind of story a lot. People cherish the bill, and we think it's what makes it special. That said, the reason people like your Dad keep them and never spend them is because they mistakenly believe they are rare or not made anymore. Neither of those are the case. Still, it's a bill with a lot of nostalgia and sentiment to it.
I would give them back as change when it made sense. Do they need 3 dollars back? Ok, I'd give one two dollar bill and a single. I didn't always have two dollar bills or dollar coins but I gave them back as change sometimes.
According to my boss at the thrift shop I worked at the hundred dollar bills are supposed to go under the drawer so that if you're robbed they'll see you empty the register and leave without the hundreds
i work at 7/11 and we always put them in the farthest left slot and later in the day we drop them into the safe because we aren't really supposed to hand them out to customers as change. usually about once or twice a week a customer comes in to pay with a two dollar bill. if i'm working that day i like to exchange them for whatever cash i have cause i like collecting them
Here in Brazil, the banknote that had difficulty was the 1 real note, it stopped being produced in 2005 and after that it became very difficult to find it, currently the 1 real note is only accepted at the bank in Brazil to be exchanged, how cool is that? knowing that there is a 2 dollar bill, I have 10 1 dollar bills. I hope to have more when I travel. greetings from the state of Pará.
Correct! I hope you are using the $2 bills and not just tucking them away. I hope you also know that they're NOT rare. But cool that you get them and thanks for the comment.
I had a young cashier refuse to take my $2 bills because she they we're fake. It's was all I had on me so I had to ask her to get a manager to explain they are real.
When I work at fast food and retail we use to put them in bottom of register. I always told my managers and supervisor I buy em at the end of my shift. Till this day I got multiple of stacks of 2 dollar bills I saved😁
A lot of people do that! I've heard the story many times. It adds to people work days, for sure. But you can just as easily go to the bank and get them instead of waiting for someone to spend one at your place of employment. They're not rare.
When I was little that I had a few $2 bills but, I had a fear of the back of the bills so I gave them to my sister. I don’t remembered how many $2 bills that I gave her. My fear totally disappeared when I got older.
Fun Fact: 2 Dollar bills aren't that rare, it's just that people think they are so whenever somebody gets one they save it, pulling it out of circulation.
We are the experts on that fact. That's kinda the point of the channel - to educate people about the bill. Here's that fact and 4 more: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-FQJGDgCJGpA.html
I actually love using them. Only one time, though, did a cashier not have ones left in the drawer and asked me if it was okay to give me back a two in change.
When I worked at Kroger after they marked the hundred they would stick it under the tray of money But I would think the one person that put the two under the one, I think you’re asking for trouble doing that. What if you run out of ones and you accidentally grab the two without paying attention? Then you might think you’re cursed. 😂
I once gave my sister a two dollar bill and told her to never spend it. The next day she went to school and bought one of those fund raising candy bars with it smh
In Canada the two dollar is a coin and are cashes have extra coins slots for the .05, .1, .25, 1, 2. The penny and 50 cent are still excepted just are not in use anymore
Usually when ever some ones pays my in 2$ bills I put in 50/100$ spots since i put 50/100s under to be safer. And I usually buy them at end my shift or end up giving to a regular customer that collect them when he comes in for his morning coffee and paper
Ain't no way they were trained for being on register without knowing where 2s go. At Culver's, we have slots for 1,5,10, and 20, with all the basic coins being there as well. Where the 100's or 50's slot would be is coin refills. ANYTHING that isn't a coin or 1,5-20 goes underneath the monee holder. Coupons go there, 100s go there, and yes, the $2 will be under the monee.
Sounds like you're working on a register with just 4 cash slots. Most original registers had 5, and again, they were designed to have the two as one of the bills. But things changed over time, as did the need to make registers smaller (like yours). When that happened, the $2 was pushed out as a potential bill for a slot.
Whenever I ran a register at any place that register trained me, I put $2's, $50's and $100's *under* the removable till. I would put 50 cent pieces and $1 coins in the extra coin cup under the coin rolls.
All this people make it soo complicated lmfao. I'm a part time employee manager at a fast food place. We keep our $2 on top of the $100 bills. And when it's time to give change, we try to get rid of them. And give those $2 bills as change with the following customer. I usually like to keep them for myself. But I have a couple, so I'll just give them out and change or tell my team to give it out as change
I put 50s and 100s under the register, so I have an extra slot usually for extra coin rolls or 2$ if I get them. No point having the 50s and 100s in the register, never give them out as change and keeps them from robbing.
The $1 bill should be retired, because it's often not enough for a candy bar. When I worked at Taco Bell (a long time ago), the manager didn't like $2 bills. We were instructed to give them out as change as soon as possible. It would be very rare that they ended up being deposited at the bank at day's end.
When the cashier wonders where to put the $2s, I tell them the $5s are in the wrong place. If they are talkative, I explain when I run a cash drawer, the $1s go under the drawer because I hand out $2 bills and $1 coins.
That's great to hear because I believe that $2 bills are not taught enough - not even in toys, which is why I made this video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-xU2lTapr_ws.html
That's what lots of people do, as the video says. Most people think they're rare (they're not), so they take the opportunity to buy one when they see one.
Are you suggesting they don't make $2 bills anymore? If you are, you should know that they DO still make them. And here's why: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-_Bzg9pNVePk.html
Yeah I keep my drawer with 1,5,10,20 and the far left slot for two bundles of twenty 1's, 50's/100's go under the drawer and the 2's go in the far left slot to be given as change first. Unless it's a Series 1976 $2 or a Legal tender Note $2 I don't buy them anymore because they are fairly common even though they're not as common as other bills... I just don't make enough to tie all my money up in $2 bills that come through the store. Dollar coins on the other hand... I buy any and every one that I can get my hands on... I mean when someone pays for a $1 lotto ticket with a 1922 Peace Dollar do they really expect me to NOT buy that?
When I was a cansheer, I'd fold them in half and put them on top of the singles. I'd had them out in change when it made sense and if they wanted two singles instead, I'd do it for them.
