I'm pretty sure the reason why it says that Gryffindor is "quite simply the best house to be in" is to reflect the egos of Gryffindors. I don't think it's JK's personal opinion of Gryffindor but what a Gryffindor would say about there house, if you get me?

I took the quiz a year ago and got Slytherin!! I always thought I was a Ravenclaw, but my Potterhead friends always said I belonged in Slytherin. I saw that Matthias took the quiz and I decided to retake it, kind of hoping that I'd be sorted into Ravenclaw, but AGAIN I was sorted into Slytherin.

Always a Slytherin! Two times I have been sorted into this house. Traits that I can relate to would probably be ambitious and determined.

Wow, I took that quiz and I got Gryffindor too! I'd love it if you took the quiz about "Which Wand You Have." I got an eleven and a half inch dark elm with a Dragon Heartstring core.

I'm in the same boat as you, Amanda! Definitely a Hufflepuff (for all traits; then a Ravenclaw, which I guess is different), but I got Gryffindor with the new quiz. I think a quiz with all possible questions (I've taken one) would be most accurate and would account for some discrepancies.

4:02 I think for all the houses, the welcome thing on the pages for the houses are "written" by the prefects of the houses, so it saying Gryffindor is the best is just the opinion of the prefect J.K. Rowling wrote it for. I was in Ravenclaw, but I got into hufflepuff with the new quiz, but I've always in between both, so I was always fine with it.

I had the same thoughts with the new update. I still got Slytherin (even after two years) and the same wand (Rowan Dragon Heartstring, 13 1/2 inches, string (I believe, I'm doing this off the top of my head)). I'd say I have the ambitious trait of Slytherin. I always want to do my best.

I think you are a gryffinpuff I remember taking a quiz that was like which house hybrid are you, and that's what I got. I recently retook the pottermore test as well, and was sorted into Gryffindor. I always thought I was a Hufflepuff as well, but I've retaken the quiz like 3 times, and I've gotten every house, but hufflepuff. I also took the pottermore version of the quiz on (it was either playbuzz or buzzfeed), but I got gryffindor every time on that one. I guess I agree that I am a gryffindor, but have a fear of living in the shadows of others, and who would ever want to live under the shadow of Harry Potter. At least that is my take on it. I'm a bit of a Harry Potter nerd as well, (but mainly the movies i've only read the first book).

I also got put in Hufflepuff forever ago, but I retook it a little while ago and I was put in Gryffindor! So same thing happened to me lol

I have always identified myself as a Ravenclaw even though the old Pottermore quiz sorted me in Slytherin. I just thought that out of all of the traits for each house I matched up the most with Ravenclaw and I've always liked that house because my favorite character is Luna Lovegood. The new quiz actually did give me Ravenclaw and the trait I think matches me the most is probably individual. I'd like to think I'm intelligent too lol

lawl sorta how i was when i took it. i was sorta in denial that i was a slytherin since most quizzes i took said hufflepuff or ravenclaw, but since it was the very first house i was sorted into (fake hat at a bookstore during one of the harry potter book releases), ive come to terms with it bc not all slytherins r bad.

I get sorted into a different house everytime I do the Harry Potter quiz. The first time was Slytherin, then Ravenclaw, then Gryffindor. I don't know which is best suited me out of these three.

In the original pottermore quiz I got Hufflepuff, but after taking the new one I got Gryffindor, so I'm right there with you Amanda! I guess we're a mix of both :D From Hufflepuff I would say I appreciate the humble nature the most because it's something important for anyone to have. From Gryffindor I would have to say Bravery, although I know Hufflepuffs are brave too so I'm kind of torn. I still see myself as a Hufflepuff!

Yeah my issue with pottermore quizzing is it doesn't ask enough questions. People have created quizzes that have every single question you can be asked on pottermore and I think it is a lot more reliant. I'm pretty tied between Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff but I got Gryffindor and I was like noooope lol

I was sorted into Ravenclaw in the first quiz, but this one I was sorted into Gryffindor. I think I'm more of a Ravenclaw than a Gryffindor so Sorting Hat, I chose to be in Ravenclaw, darn it! I relate to Gryffindor in the determination factor, and in Ravenlaw, creativity and individuality.

i dont know, you can be very determined when you set your mind to stuff as we have seen plenty of times in the vlogs, so i think you could fit well in gryffindor as well as hufflepuff :)

The new pottermore quiz (finally) sorted me into Ravenclaw- before I was a Gryffindor, which my friends and I both disagreed with, and since I've always been more prone to wanting to know more about things, I self-sorted myself into Ravenclaw. I definitely feel that I value the Creativity and Wit traits, as I really enjoy being creative and having verbal battles with people. Have you taken the new Ilvermorny quiz yet? I got Thunderbird, but I feel like I don't know enough about the houses yet to feel certain about my placement. :P

That happened to me! I was a hufflepuff then I re took the test after she updated it and I got Gryffindor!

Congratz on being a Huffledor/Gryffinpuff!! Before the update, I was sorted to Gryffindor(which was rather odd for me... not that I have problems with being sorted to Gryffindor..). Then after the update, I'm Slytherin(which feels right for me). I don't like being in conflict with myself.... so I say BOTH! Gryffirin/Slythedor!

im so late but okay you can be courageous in many ways, like nevill for example, he was brave in simple ways, like going to class everyday even though his greatest fear was snape etc. what im trying to say is that courage can be found in many shapes and forms, not all gryffindors put themselves out there and do crazy stuff just because they can. you have these traits but you are more hufflepuff for sure.

I took the quiz long ago when Pottermore was still in the.. "get an early account by chance!" phase, and I was sorted into Ravenclaw. Decided to take it again because of this vid and..... Ravenclaw!

I had the same thing happen to me! Before the pottermore quiz was re-done I was a Hufflepuff and felt like it encaptured me to a t. But when I retook the quiz it said I was a Gryffindor.

I took my test again and I got Ravenclaw but I believe I'm always a Gryffindor at heart!
