Mind Your Language is one of those comedies that never get old. The pure innocent humour is what makes this comedy loveable, and there is nothing offensive about it.
Goosebumps....... childhood memories..... watching today and thinking what a superb plot and superb actors...... really eyes full of tears..... gone are those golden days and golden people......
Not all my friend. But those days were the best growing up.👍🏼. We had the best of them and i wouldn’t change that for anything. God bless you old timer.👍🏼🏴.
I saw a video describing this series as blatant racism. People forget to look at the intention of the creators. It was never there to ridicule foreigners.
just screw everyone and continue watching this show hoping that one day mankind will come to their senses. That's what I do and it works fine for me. I really don't have to put up with anyone anymore
@@Amadeus-ms9lt as a foreigner (Romanian) working in Netherlands for the last 4 months I make fun of myself more than the Dutch people make fun of Romanians, and everyone is happy, including me because I fucking LOVE country-specific humor and peculiarities. Sometimes, I have unintentionally made racist remarks towards black and asian people WHILE I was talking to them, but then I've said "oops. I honestly didn't mean for this to sound like it sounded, sorry" and this short and honest apology, combined with the fact that even I made jokes about myself and my Romanians many times before has saved the situation, even though it wouldn't have become awkward anyway because there's a very true saying that in English sounds like "all birds of a feather flock together", which means that people of the same type unconsciously sympathize with each other, which further means that we tend to get friends with people that are similar to us in thinking, which further means that even if some of my remarks would turn out racist the people I'd hang out with would know I don't mean it because.... well, because we are alike since we "flock together". And whoever would get offended I would honestly apologize to, but then I would never talk to again (like EVER), because life is too short to waste with such losers, and I am too tired to explain the difference between racism and humor to morons. So, I move away from them, and forward with my life, and I let them find the harsh truths of life on their own. It's called evolution and the beautiful thing about it is that everyone gets affected by it one way or another
@Red Eye Wolf of course. Same here, nothing against hungarians or any other race. I think people should be judged individually for their actions, which is why racism is both illogical and not normal
2nd Generation Asian, from the subcontinent. Used to watch this program with my parents as a kid in the 70s and we all howled with laughter at the stereotypes. They are 100% spot on and what a shame the PC brigade wouldn't allow this sort of programming these days, when they half of them haven't got a clue about our culture and sense of humour.
They’ve stopped shows like this because it’s grotesquely racist. But you don’t strike me as someone intelligent enough to understand that. It’s fine, go and vote for the tories you sell out.
Buffalo 66 😟 I even feel more sorry for this loss..may they both rest in peace..may be your father died of grieve more than illness because of sister early death😢
Five of them are still alive... the actors who played Chung Su lee, Danielle, Ingrid, Jamila. Kevork Maliyan (who plays Max the Greek) is not only still alive, he is still acting in movies and TV. Barry Evans (Mr Brown) had a bit of a tragic life - he was huge at one point, starring in "Doctor in the house" and Mind your Language which were too huge sitcoms of the 60s/70s. His career went downhill, and he ended up driving taxis - died young at the age of 53.
Same thing happened with the guy who played Benny Green (Terry Sue-Patt) in Grange Hill. He just worked in a shop after it ended and people couldn't believe it each time they came across him there. He got so fed up of people expecting him to go onto famous things when it just didn't happen. He died at age 50 with his cause of death also unexplained. He was found in his flat a month after his death and due to decomposition, they couldn't tell how he had died. It's possible it was suicide but no one knows for sure.
Omg..classic that makes you laugh so much. Simple humour that let us poke fun at each other without worrying about being PC. Life was so fun and simple in those days
No word to say...my parents are no more...this MYL would bring whole family together...some of them are no more... This was the best...the Greatest...from UK at that era... I remember my father used to laugh non stop...the thing is he is very strict... however when come this drama MYL ...he would become small child...My Soul pain watching this memorable Greatest Serial ever produced by UK...Everyone acted in this Serial has got their own Marvelous Superb Talent.. That's what makes this Serial are Major Success throughout the world...🙏
My sides ache with every clip i watch. How those actors kept a straight face! They must have had so much fun in the rehearsals. They all look like they really enjoy their characters
Ever green program everyone is doing their best and so delicately spreading the moments of smiles on our faces. To me they are all legends and great people absolutely unforgetable moments wish channels play these old ever green programs where we sit and enjoy and laugh and have great time. Truly missed :(
Reminds me of another instance I watched on TV. The British kids saw the Amish killing chickens for dinner, and one said, I thought they come from the supermarket 😂🤣 kids today don't know where their produce actually comes from. Schools there need to take the kids to the chicken farms and show them
2:56 Ali: 'Scuse, Please! Jeremy: No Ali, don't say it... Ali: What do I not say? Jeremy: You were going to say something about fish NOT having fingers? Ali: Yes, please! Jeremy: Well, don't bother. One of the funniest jokes ever... When I first seen this after so many years, I almost cried with laughter xD
Someone else asks if anyone loves this show... I used to watch the reruns Friday Nights at 10 or 10:30 here in the Buffalo area on WNED(17) some 35 or so years ago, and enjoyed it immensely.
Unstoppable, everlasting, missed them,I started watching when I was a kid during 90's but I become crazy about everyone worked sorry lived on their character
This is totally impossible to create in this world today as you have to curse and abuse someone to make laugh. A very difficult job is to make someone laugh with simple things.
This -making fun of migrants in general- was possible back then I suppose because ignorance at a certain age seems something to be made fun of, IMHO it's still bad.
I can't forget this Masterpiece Show, Even though I'm a born after 2000, But still to me it will be the Best Show of it's Time. Though Danielle is so Beautiful I mean I'm kind of in Love with her. Plus really sad to hear most of the Actors are not even alive, that makes me so emotional. But they'll always be remembered and stay alive in My and Everyone's Heart.
