In this episode we nearly finish the first proper factory in TETRA...well, quarter of a factory. This is just to purify the crude oil!

Been trying to figure out what to do with my sludge. I also want to process all by products eventually if possible, but sinking packaged sludge will be so much easier to deal with in the intervening time. Watching your flexi-furnace setup gave me an idea to try and stack mine vertical for space/pipe efficiency lol

Thanks for the video. I package and sink the raw sludge. Running it through the fluid conditioner with silica (scarce resource) and then have to get rid of the residual water = PITA (and not the flatbread kind 🙂 ). Would it be possible to make a glass walkway looking down at the "inner court" with all the trees and such in the middle towards the spire? That might look kind of cool. I think, I would have made a pipeline bridge to move the processed crude, as it seems to be on the same level in the factory instead of the hassle of trains. But then again, 25 years working on oiltankers = I do like my pipes! 😀 Take care and I'll look forward to the next one.

Great suggestions! All of them. I'll take it one step at a time, and if it gets to be too much I'll sink the sludge. I've always liked the idea of having large processing areas for cleaning the sludge, slag, etc. so I'm going to try it that first, but it's a great idea if (when) it becomes overwhelming. I love the idea of the glass walkways. So much so, I think I'm to start playing shortly and do exactly that. Finishing the oil can wait...having walkways (and the included hypertubes I'm imagining) will make the next steps of building even easier. You take care, too. I'm having a great day. A great week, actually. RU-vid has been particularly fun lately.

All the extra water that generates from the raw sludge processing is such a pain. I have 5 power plants that have 20-30,000 fluid liters of buffers that I have to flush every few hours of game play. It wasn't that bother some at first but after 10s of hours it's pretty annoying. I recommend using regular water extractors for your water and then cut back and plug in the fluid conditioners (raw sludge) to the boilers in the power plant. Sounds like you're going to be exporting the slug though, so I am extra interested in what you do with it.

Weird, I wrote a reply yesterday. I've been having issues with my replies being actually posted. I've been thinking about your comment, and I think I'll either use the pipe priority functionality so a boiler somewhere can burn off the output water instead of using water from an extractor...or maybe just package it and sink it. Another commenter gave me that suggestion because wasting silica on raw sludge seemed wasteful. I haven't decided full yet, but I'll tackle it soon.

@@BEDplaysGAMES totally weird about your replies nit going through. The sludge is one of the more tricky logistical decisions as it has to be dealt with or you won't have power.

Do you address the raw sludge question in the video? Did I miss it? Personally, I put it in a fluid conditioner then onto awesome sink storage boxes before offering the free croaked extras to the fixit network.

Someone else suggested just packaging it up and sinking it. I'm going to try to process it and see if I can get it to work well. I love the idea of perfectly using all byproducts for all products. I did NOT address it in the video. When I wrote the title I was frustrated at placing the train station to move the sludge. So in the heat of the moment I literally was thinking "where do I run the sludge to just MOVE it" but that doesn't come across in the video very well.

I just had a thought. What if you added some cars to the incoming oil train to alao take out the byproduct at the same station. Or is that what your already doing ans i just noticed? Lol

Amazing idea! It's not what I'm doing, but you'll see at the end of the episode what I come up with. It's overly complicated and too crowded. Your suggestion is amazing.

It’s regional! Where I live in Michigan, USA, our accents and dialect are very close to Canadian. The canucks call it ashphalt often. So do many here in MI. I say both. Depending on if I’m thinking about what I’m saying or rambling and reverting back to childhood pronunciation.
