if i owned a garage, i would only put my bikes in it. but it sounds like the wife gets the garage, so its time to get a cover outside or buy a shed. be, its covers and i am gone in 60 seconds! wait, thats a movie! gone in a minute.
I feel the same and also have two cars to move out the drive…sometimes I feel guilty about leaving my dogs too. Furthermore the wife likes some attention at the weekend too, this can be neglected if I go out on the bike. Additionally sometimes I feel like I just can’t be bothered but not 100% sure why… it is a conundrum
Aye mate it's easy to get sucked into this "bikelife" and neglect the fam. I think I just need a long break from the grind of work. A 6 month U.S. Winnebago/bike trip would be ace. 😅😅Maybe in the next life eh 🙄
We don’t like the faff too. Maybe move to Spain or other countries with less regulations about clothing and bigger houses with surrounding property to build on a real mancave 😝. Yes D., we’re getting old 🤪🤣
It never lasts more than a couple of weeks, but if I'm not digging it, I'll not force myself out. Recipie for disaster. I have enjoyed going out unexpectedly at the last minute for a summer evening blast. Just short runs 40-50 miles, but come home happy as Larry.
Diminishing returns. It's just not as thrilling once you've done it enough. Plus some of us fall easily into extreme thinking and try to be hardcore by riding as much as possible, but that's not really necessary and literally nobody cares. Having gone through mojo loss many times over a couple decades, I now just follow the vibe and don't ride if I'm not feeling motivated about it. Sometimes it's more fun to waste the day, no matter how perfect the weather. It's a motorcycle, not a job or a marriage; no need to guilt-trip yourself. I guess some skills need dusting off occasionally if you're not very experienced, but forcing it defeats the purpose if it's not enjoyable. If it's still enjoyable but the inconvenience is the turn-off, I'd address the inconvenience, if possible. Need more room in the garage? Sell the wife's car! Now that's being a real hardcore biker! 😉
Love your channel name! Yeah we fall into that trap but you're right no one cares really. I know I'd ride more if it was simpler to get the bike out 🤮I can't take it to work either as I start too early and don't wanna attract neighbor hate. We'll eventually find a fitting house or as you say the wife can have a scooter or something 🤣
I definitely get that as well especially in summer it's far too hot 🔥🥵 for me i think because I've been riding for so long 44 years. I'm going through one of them periods at the moment. I haven't hardly ridden since April, but i still love bikes.
Yeah mate the heat don't help. It gets hot here too and humid with it (not has hot as you get true) but deffo makes me uestion going out some times. 44 years fk!
Great video with really good countryside, I like you have to move two cars to get my bike out of the garage, it's a pain in the arse and I believe it put me off going out on the bike which was a BMW R1200RS SE a great bike but as I am approaching the 76 year on this earth it was getting a wee bit heavy to wheel in and out and past our cars, so I downsized to a brand new Honda Hornet 500 and I just love going out on this bike it's like being young again, maybe you should consider such a move if your biking mojo is leaving you.
Thanks mate 🫡I'm ok with the bike weight...still 😅 and I only just got it a few months back so I won't be changing bike any time soon...Thanks for watching my wee vid 😜😇
Lovely video, amazing roads. Regards to mojo.... Yes, but I think I overthink stuff....just recently there have been a few bad accidents, and I find myself making excuses not to go out. But also I live on the west coast of Scotland, I am still waiting for summer. Fly by wire..... Jeez but do we need all the technology?
Yes Dunc I have a similar faff and having learnt the hard way will not ride without all the gear on which also seems such a chore at time's especially on the warmer days. Frequently can't be arsed with it all I'll be all hot and bothered by the time I actually get on the bike. Then most times it's straight to a fuel station more faffing around and getting hotter. Just have to nut up and push through though get a couple of miles from the fuel stop and some good air flow around me and cool off a bit I'm always glad I've made the effort and will usually be out for hour's
I know what you mate. Everytime I go out the house, I forget something lol I thought getting a tank bag would have reduced my faff but it's added to it 🤣 I hope I can find a house with better parking options, either that or make the wife sell her car 🤣🤣
I had a major off broke my back both ankles 3 ribs punctured lung 3 fingers but I always all the gear & saved my life.I know what you mean in summer being to hot & being safe so I got me a mesh summer jacket which is great not as safe but better than T-shirt.I see a guy in t-shirts riding a motorbike I cringe & taste blood in my mouth must be relapse of when I had off & blood in Mouth when punctured my lung & died 3 times.A good vented helmet & mesh jacket makes it alot better on those hot 🥵 days you can feel the air coming through mesh especially if wearing t-shirt underneath on forearms. My mesh jacket came with a removable waterproof lining which I carry in tail bag & zips in if it clouds over & looks like rain.In NZ 🇳🇿 the Ozone layer is super thin & get burnt in 10mins & gets upto 36° I don't bother going out on real hot day's maybe after 5-6pm as it doesn't get dark till 9pm or real early 6-7am-11am.At the moment it's been to cold 🥶 a Southerly blast from Antarctica but as soon as Southerly weakens or changes be out after 10am mind you once frost melted.
@@GermanJobbiesI have a ritual too Dunc as do most & have to move a car to get bike out as well.I brought a 10L petrol tank just for bike as live in countryside & can't be bothered stopping on hot 🥵 or cold 🥶 day on way home late in day to get gas.I use 10L petrol container to top up bike & hopefully tops tank up so don't have to faff about get gas ⛽.Does take me 17mins to closest Gas ⛽ station & 60mph zone so have the wind blowing to cool me down if need gas ⛽ & hot day.
It does help if you can more easily just get in the bike and go. Sometimes when it is super hot 🥵 I can’t push myself to “suit” up. But I remind my self the time I spend complaining I could have been dressed 🤣🤣. And know I can’t get on the bike until February. So I am hoping that makes me never lose my fever to ride again… Head should always be in the game when riding!! (Off topic pick up some armor for the jacket ) ❤❤❤
@@jeanaesday You won't believe this but I was just a moment ago thinking...."I need to buy some decent armour for this jacket"!! Dafuq! 🤣😅 You'll never be off your bike for a month once your fit again! 😉
@@GermanJobbies that is soooo funny!!! And a bit scary we are thinking the same things. 🤣🤣 When I worked full time I would get in a funk after a hard work week. Like my head wasn’t clear. So I shouldn’t ride. But finally i realized… my head will get clear… as soon as I take the first turn 😊
@@jeanaesday 🤷♂🤣 Yes I know, and I do have a lot on my mind atm. I'm sure it's just a recession and not a depression! If I don't enjoy a ride it's my head's fault not the bike!
lovely road that one, awesome bends, after the red bike gas station. I don't know if they fixed smth on the 2023 revision I have but I keep it in A and TC 1 all the time (minus slippery conditions when I put in B and TC 2) and had no issues. About the mojo thing, I am a late bloomer, just started riding 5 years ago but even now as I watch this video very late at night, I get the itch to go ride now, in the middle of it :) By the way, do you also find the "fancy" LED headlight a bid disappointing compared to the ancient bulby one of the 650 ? Maybe it's the sharp cut off or smth, I don't know. Makes me really think about getting some of those "fog lights".
Not something I have a problem with, even in the winter time but there is a huge amount of faff getting ready everytime I go out which I think of as a bit of a ritual so makes it a little easier.
I've never really lost my mojo as i just think how shyte the traffic is in town so i take the bike to work when I can but getting geared up and pulling it out the garage can be a bit of a faff, especially at 4am lol
4 omg! Yeah your traffic must be very bad mate for you to be willing to bike in the rain at 4 am 😯Watching ur vid the night. As we speak im doing an online training shit thing 🙄
@GermanJobbies CPC by any chance? Lol. Yes the traffic in Edinburgh is a complete nightmare, especially in the afternoon when I finish so that's where the bike comes into its own. The wee Honda has now burst 11,000 miles and its just turned 2 years old lol
@GermanJobbies fortunately we do our cpc in house so it's not too bad. I still think it's completely pointless and in all the years of doing it I've never learned anything new lol
