Composed by Ron Goodwin for the 1968 film of the same name, staring Richard Burton, Clint Eastwood, and Mary Ure. Arranged for brass band by Darrol Barry. Recorded at our Centenary concert on 29th September 2019.
They did an outstanding job and just for a chuckle the young lady in the red dress playing the drums is in her bare feet. I guess when you're in the last row you can get away with that. Regards, Denis Berte' USMC
This seemed a bit slow compared to the original recording, (no disrespect to the band, could be a playback issue) so I sped up to 1:25 x the original and it sounds much better 👍
Hi. Yes every conductor has to interpret the music as he/she sees best and to adapt to suit the players' capabilities. I'm one of the BB Tuba players and getting on in years and arthritis in my hands slows me down a lot, so maybe our conductor was being kind.
@@campbelltowncityband I understand now. Please forgive me for my ignorance. I meant no negative criticism, it’s an amazing bit of music and no doubt very difficult to play. Well done to all!
