Couple of things.. 1. I've 'done' Songkran in Pattaya (and elsewhere in Thailand) many times. As you said, the first time is enjoyable as it's a novel experience but after that....meh. One year I actually bought enough supplies for a few days so I had no reason to leave the apartment thus avoided all the mayhem 2. I think it's great that you took time out to do something you're genuinely interested in and wanted to see. In my case, I badly want to see Johnny Cash Museum in Nashville, and will make it out there one day!
I think a lot of full time residents avoid pattaya for the songkran festival. nice to get to texas and see a place that you were interested in. i was out side the apartment building in minsk where oswald actually lived during his time in rusia, we couldnt go in because you had to book in advance at the time to visit.
Don't worry be happy, as long as LePub was still there when you got back and the ladies were all in one piece what more could you ask fore. bet the taking were up.
You know what, I was really surprised how well the Bar did over Sunan and the fact that he was all in one piece and looking very, very spic and span as we like to say.

Awesome Phil! I've lived here in Dallas for 11 years. Awesome city but public transport especially the DART train are very dangerous. Not like NY where everyone rides. I love Korean Air, they have their own farms and grow all their food organic. Attendants are very hot and service top notch. You must have had a long lay over, usually takes me 24 hours. Only negative is sometimes American Airlines operates 1 of the flights between Dallas and Soeul and they suck. I'll catch you back in Pats... Glad you had fun
Thank you, Gregg. I have to say I never felt in danger on the trains because there were a lot of what we in the UK called ticket inspectors there who were on. Also, I have been homeless myself so I kind of get the people, but I was just surprised that there was so many. I was in Patong for Sonkran and it only lasted2 days. Bangla road was gridlocked Saturday and awash.I wore a raincoat so managed to stay reasonably dry
You smartly avoided Possible ear and eye infections! I really do prefer the original temple water ceremony that does not include squirt guns.... At least once I would like to check out Roswell New Mexico and Area 51 due to my love of sci-fi, Glad you are having a great time in Dallas.

I would never have used Korean Air based on the reputation of their pilots a few decades ago. I used to fly into Kai Tai lot and their efforts landing there put me well off the airline.
If Songkran was celebrated in the traditional Thai way, it would be nice. But it's gone way over the top. An excuse to get too drunk and act stupid in public.
Dallas does have programs to help the "homeless." Most large cities in the USA have such programs. The funding is poorly spent and I believe there is a certain amount of corruption involved in the depletion of funds. Also, many will not use such programs because they have some common sense "rules" that many recreational pharmaceutical users find inconvenient.
Thanks for your comment Andrew. From experience in these matters, a lot of homeless people really don’t want to accept help and just kind of live in a spiral of misery from their own actions. I kind of understand that because they want their independence.

For those saying thanks Phil for saying songkrane is not real in Pattaya needs to listen again …. It’s very real and has meaning to millions of Thais in area , it’s the bar area that take it to extreme not beach area …. For example I never get wet jontiem beach or most girls will look before hitting me they key is dress more formal and avoid beach road and walking street , Bangkok last year I was in area so went to centra world , water cannons the lot , I never got hit once the key is don’t go down the obvious streets then u only have to avoid 1 here or their …. Not once have I been hit , not once with out asking for it … The girls will baulk before spraying, farang morons that’s different but as I said avoid beach road walking street if u don’t want to get hammered… when u walk just stop say 20 meters from big group smile be polite say no please they will not waist their water on you , but you blurt out half stung happy songkrane well u get hammered….. I leave town too as last year I went to bkk this year I’m working , Phil problem is he works in middle of it so hence unavoidable… I understand that fully, u can avoid it in Pattaya but you will need to live differently that 10 days ,
Thanks for the comments Mark. I have to take your word for and and value your opinion, as I haven’t done a Songkran since well before Covid. All I can say is Mark that several of my friends have reported getting soaked late at night, even in Jomtien, when they made it quite clear they weren’t up for it. Maybe you just too handsome mate.

I traveled to the Dallas, and toured the Book Depository with two other military Veterans. All Of us had decades around firearms. One of us owned a Carcano, and we have all shot it. None of us believed that a person with that vantage point would hold fire until the vehicle turned left. The optimum would have been face on, traveling toward the window before the turn. Just my 2 cents.

Shots from any location in the plaza are definitely plausible and doable, but you have to look at the totality of the evidence for the shots coming from the Texas schoolbook depository. The ballistics evidence taken on its own can really point in any direction, but a review of the totality of all the evidence points to Oswald.
