In this video I introduce a new vehicle, explain why I chose it and begin modifying it to suit my needs. Somehow this took me several months to get everything this far. Music: Beer Can Chicken - Epidemic Sound
Nice build. The ironman front struts have 20 mm more downtravel if you find they top out too much with the lift springs. I ran a transfer box skid plate on my old one which I would recommend as it's pretty exposed.
I'll have to remember about the Ironman stuts. More down travel would be good. And yes definitely going to need more bash guards underneath. The transfer case survived the trip, but did a bit of other damage under there.
I weighed it the other day and found out that while it is under GVM, it's way closer than I would like. Will have to see what I can do to save a little weight.
Hi Sam. Great setup. My Suzuki is similar to yours but I have the 3.2 litre and has a 2" lift and steel wheels with Falken AT3s. I left it down the South Island for a whole summer and flew back and forwards and explored most of the island. We had double bed setup in the rear for the two of us. Its surprising how much gear you can get tin these. Here's the link, I used an aluminum swimming pool fence gate for the basis of the bed ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE---JV4TNy4QQ.html
Thanks. Running 245 75 16 tyres. And I used Chemz Black Zinc paint for the sub frame. CRC do a black Zinc too, and I've used that a fair bit too. I find the zinc offers a bit more protection.
