Your videos are beyond amazing and so informative, I wish you could teach somehow all of the beginner techniques to advanced so many of want to learn but don't have the quality instruction you give in your videos. I am in the US and you would be so amazing as an instructor.

Your work is just BEAUTIFUL!! I am just a baby brand new to this world (3 days ago) when I lost my job due to disability and I have got to re-invent a new world for myself because my career has suddenly shriveled up and died. Usually I never listen to doctors, lawyers, cops or anyone else who are bummers but this time I know they are right because my own body agrees with them. I just didn't see it coming!! I hate it and I can't quite see my way clear to a life as anything but being a nurse but that was over 3 days ago and now I am something else. I am very artistic and creative anyway but I never considered it as a career, it was always just for fun and I don't know to change my mindset into making my hobbies and fun into rent and groceries. I am scared! Any, I love your so much and I hope I can get even a little bit as good as you are. I just had to say that.

Please turn off the volume, turn on CC and please tell me if you can make sense of any - ANY sentence in these videos. It's not just this video. I'd say 97% of all videos by anyone. Haven't talked to anyone else in the HOH world but, it is so frustrating. Thanks for this. I just discovered your channel tonight and I find your style incredibly easy to follow. Thank you so much for sharing your talent. I just want to use a bit of wire work now and again in mixed media projects. I work mostly with paper but do have a stash of beads and bits and bobs of wire. Now I can pull my wire out and figure out exactly what I have and what it's good for. I wonder if you might be interested in doing a short series on adding bits of sparkle with basic tools and minimal supplies. For those of us who don't intend on getting into wire work in a huge way, I'd still like to be able to use what I've got. I loved your "Making Your Own Chain" series for just that reason. Now I don't have to wait until my next shopping expedition, I can make a 4 or 6 inch section of chain on my own and keep crafting! It never dawned on me to make chain! In the past I've made little dangles to add to projects. I have a small stash of jump rings, head pins, loop pins [forget what they're called], I have a tool set that came with 3 basic pliers, needle nose, and I forget what the other two are called. While perusing your vids, I thought I might attempt a short woven wire piece to use as a latch flap for an altered book I'm working on. One other think I've been casually surfin' the internets for is ... I have a few bags of marbles, round ones, flat on one side ones and a few flattened ovals and rounded one inch squares, and a large freezer bag of wires. How can I use wire to wrap my marbles and attach them to say a stretched canvas or pierced through the cover of a hardcover book? Or maybe use as a knob handle on a chipboard box, or feet for a paper mache container. Any ideas?

HA! its so cool to know you get your wire from JM too! i got a few 100 meter spools in antique bronze and blue in various gauges from JM. they ship very fast to the USA which is awesome. they have high quality copper coated wire , i think its much better then both beadalon and artistic wire.And you get way more wire for your money on JM spools. Side note: JM does have sterling silver , and bare copper wire but in smaller amounts then the 100 meter spools. Thank you for sharing!!

Christina THANK YOU. You are educating me from the ground up. Something I always have done when learning something new but nearly impossible to find on You Tube videos. And I won't buy a book without perusing it's value first. (CAN YOU SUGGEST ANY HELFUL BOOKS?) I so appreciate your showing me the many usages and capability of each gauge (I'm American) of wire. Your artwork leaves me breathless. At Age 67 I now find myself saying I must live extra long and extra healthy to achieve some of the wire working I want to do in my life time. Things like this really protects ones mind from getting alzheimers which was proven by the recent CT scan of my brain. After seeing the tutorials in your ETSY store I look forward to buying the wire and bead necklace and bracelet tutorial after playing around and getting to know these wires personally.

You've really got some BEAUTIFUL DESIGNS!!! Your woven wire work looks so nice!! Your detailed explanations, though occasionally tedious, are thoroughly comprehensive, and very informative! Are you self-taught in these techniques?!.... You're so skilled, and ought to be teaching your craft, as well as selling on ETSY, etc.! Do you ever use twisted square wire?!.... Perhaps you might try that, using soldered connections, rather than glue.

I kinda knew you would say Jewellery Maker..I usually make up 'doodles' which I wear (rings..very basic) to see how durable the wire is and all the Jewellery Maker stuff is of high quality. I am allergic to mostly everything but I have had a JM silvdr wire rough celtic knot and a copper rose style one on since before I went home to Scotland at Xmas. I have horses so I really put them to the test...I have kept them on mucking out stables, grooming, washing dishes, windows, showering and I have yet to see any tarnish or show through of the copper (in the silver finish) and the copper ring looks brand new. I like to know that what I sell will stand up to wear and tear but I think Jewellery Maker is phenomenal because Who does all that with jewellery on?? btw I'm addicted to your site xx

I finally found this video. I knew you had posted it before. So I visited JM but I notice that there aren't a lot of 100m. I am not sure how many meters your is on the video. I wanted to find that size of a spool. Because I don't like a mini spool. If I were to make sure I wasn't sure if it is enough to make a ton of jewelry. I haven't done much with wire because my main concern is that they turn. (not in a good way with my gemstone) With copper wire, it isn't that big of a deal because it is to be expected. I remember other designers got their from Australia but again it has been years because I am finally back in the game. Ohhh forgot to mention, I am one of that HOH gal. But my hearing had gotten worse now. I have always enjoyed watching your work. I haven't recently, but you always inspire me to be different and don't follow the norm. Be yourself.

To Zuma Lilly. I hope you get this because I can't seem to reply straight to you. Thank you very much. No I didn't mention that because where I buy them they don't specify it, but it's definitely a soft wire. It is a craft wire made for jewellery making. But yes you can get quite a few different kinds of wire and it's really personal preference what you prefer to work with. Also what hardness you prefer. I hope that helped :-)

This video was just what I needed. I hope they ship to the U. S. without too much for shipping. This was very useful. I have been using your tutorials to learn how to make my own jewelry and always make sure to credit your channel and tutorial video when I posting any photos. Thank you. I will be using your code if I buy wire as well if they don't charge too much for ship rates. One question, if I we're going to use liver of sulphur to antique the copper then the coated copper will not work right. I need to get bare copper right? Also since the silver wire has copper on the inside to you ever get the copper showing through the silver when your pliers slip and nick it? I have this happen sometimes and i don't end up linking how I can see the copper on the cut ends. So I'm looking for some that are silver color all the way through without it being pure silver (cost). Stainless steel I have found myself using quite a bit but it can be tough to manipulate in some gauges.

To Mylie Blue. Both FireMountainGems.com and RioGrande.com have the colored wires as well as other wires and they both ship to Canada. I don't know the brand of wire JM sells since they don't list it. But FMG and Rio sell Beadalon and Artistic. I've used Artistic and the color seems to hold up very well. I also can't say how long delivery will take (probably not as fast as JM to the US). To CSL designs: I don't know your name, but your designs and tutorials are awesome! I just discovered your videos last night and I watched you for over 4 hours straight. I know because my satellite turned off because of inactivity. LOL Your tuts are some of the best I've ever seen. I'm a beader, but the eyestrain gets to me sometimes. Because of your tutorials, I'm going to try more serious wire working. Thank you soooo much! I'm looking forward to seeing all of your videos both past and future. Keep at it, you're great!!!

I am looking for 2mm relatively hard wire to wire wrap a cabochon without a hole. I'd like that ring to be resizable so I want a strong wire like the curved ones that you make. Can you recommend the suitable wire for that project or put a link?

Hi, Christina! This video on wire is very informative and I want to take the time to thank you for doing it. I've watched several of your wire wrapping videos and I always learn a lot. The main reason I'm writing, though, is to ask about the permanency of the silver over the copper core in the brand of wire you get from JM. When I make a bracelet, I like to put it on and leave it on. Then after a month or two I invariably find the copper showing through the silver. I'm still working up to buying solid sterling silver wire, so in the meantime I'm trying to convince myself that the silver/copper blend is attractive. So...what is your experience with your wire? I haven't seen or heard anyone else talk about this problem but I can't believe I'm the only one that's noticed it. I guess I'm hoping that you'll tell me that the company that makes your wire has invented a miracle way to keep silver from wearing off. Lol I think I must be dreaming. Hi Christina! Yet another amazing video. I'm a bit confused. Did you mention anything about the wires you use as being "half-hard" or "dead soft". Are the wires you use considered "craft" wire or is this something I'm not understanding? Here in the US, you can choose between craft wires of every color, or sterling silver, copper or gold- filled wire in a different hardness/softness, if that makes sense. I'm not sure what they mean. Thanks for clarifying. BTW, please don't ever stop sharing your awesome videos...and knowledge with us! :)

So sorry, but I have just one last question .... lol thank you for answering my other before :) Any ways, question is.. on a lot of sites, it gives the gauge of the wire and how much is on the spool but NOT if it's 1 mm or .8 mm ... that would be the wrong wire to get right? Cuz how would you know if it's the right thickness? or thinness? So sorry for all questions, I'm so new to all this. It really confuses me and you'v ebeen so helpful :)
