Always good to hear some really and sincere wonderful music. Thanks KIngston Trio for so many, many wounderful songs that touched my heart so much as I rambled all over this world.
The KT had a unique banjo sound that I’ve always loved. For some reason you don’t hear it played like that anywhere else. This was a good banjo song. Banjos are always happy.
This recording is interesting because it shows the difference between a more polished studio song (in Stay Awhile/ Decca) and a live recording here, more soulful and moving. They seem more concerned here about the words. In the Stay awhile album they seem more concerned about the sound. Thanks for posting.
Thanks a lot for posting this - Although I played 'Stay Awhile' until it turned white, this is like hearing a new song. There is also a slightly faster version of 'Little Light' recorded live in 1962 that is interestingly different from that on the 'College Concert' album. Thanks again for posting this!
It sure is nice to hear different renditions of this good old Tom Paxton tune. Our group recorded it in our CD "Still Hangin' Around" Riverbend Folk Band. Ron Wilburne is the featured singer for our version.
