The Seekers - The Water Is Wide: Special Farewell Performance 

The amazing thing about The Seekers is that they kept their rich voices on into their elder age.

Judith has the "famous" voice, but I can't help but notice, yet again, that all 4 of these voices are special in the way they blend. There are plenty of quartets who can sing harmony in tune and sing well. But the tone of these 4 voices creates an amazing sound. Thank you, Judith Durham, but thank you to ALL the Seekers, for soothing, entertaining, comforting, and adding something beautiful to planet Earth.

Why why why can't we have music like this today instead of the garbage music. Oh how I miss the 60s and 70s.

The has to be the most beautiful versions of this that the Seekers did. Their beautiful sound is just so timeless.

The last chance I got to see them live on this tour was their Liverpool performance. What really hit home with me was finally seeing Judith's diminutive physical stature live on stage. Such a delicate, tiny little morsel of humanity, showing the strength and determination to continue on with a farewell tour after all she had been through .... That alone left me spellbound. They were all brilliant, an honour to be in their presence.

One of the GREAT groups,they could actually sing and carry a note that a lot of the groups of that time could not.

Just beautiful. I have always loved their music. Takes this 71 year old way back to a fine time in my life. Young Love!

Of all the versions I have heard, this has to be the best one. It is a song that sounds best when just sung straight, with heartfelt integrity, and that is the hallmark style of The Seekers.

I had forgotten just how good they were! The music of this group and ABBA is unsurpassed!

This is the very best version of their song. I play it over and over. I love the background film of their younger days playing while they are singing. How many of us can relate to growing old and remembering those days of our youth. A beautiful song as this must become a classic and remembered for generations to come!

The more I listen to The Seekers and their songs , the more I come to love them.

I was introduced to this group by my then girlfriend in 1969. Next year we celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary.

It's getting closer to a year since her passing, and I'm still not used to the idea that, for the first time in my life, there'll never again be a new (at least to me) Seekers song to discover... I’ve listened to others singing The Water is Wide today and this truly the best.

Just discovered this song on RU-vid a month or so ago. I could listen to it and them over and over again. I grew up with some of their music, not knowing that much about them as a group specifically, but as an adult, later in my life now have grown strongly attached to their music! I pray that they are all well and blessed from above!

Im born and bred with the seeker's. Got 500 plus records . Been to quite a few of there concert's. Once i travelled 2500klms round trip to see them and I'll do that again without a second thought. Born with there records when dad played his old record player. The best times.

A band-and music-for the ages!

I had one of the seekers first albums when I was a kid in the early 60s.. I missed so many of their songs but now the past week I've listened to many.so sad that Judith is gone...I wish I could have seen the seekers in concert!.

One of my favourites. 78 year old Aussie. Those were the days the late 50s to late 60s produced such a wealth of beautiful music. If you listen to the wonderful backing in most of those songs it will add an even deeper appreciation of the quality of the music. Music has lost its melody since then. A 78 year old Aussie.

I've commented before but listening to them again .this live version I've just realized they have matured. It's in this maturity there voices and harmonies are very very beautiful. I liked then when they started and they are still very fresh but also richer in quality in every respect.. they the seekers are in no doubt the best the very best in what they have given to us the listening audience...we all of us say thank you seekers for the best in music....

So impressive in a group with one preeminent dominant vocalist, that that lead singer can take a support role when another band member has a lead. So much simple but profound talent on that stage.

In immersing myself in many Seekers songs over the past few months, I think this is the first I’ve heard Bruce sing lead. Such a beautiful, emotional voice and guitar performance. It’s amazing how something so simple as a ballad can create such emotions for us. And the group’s harmonies are heavenly. Thanks again to rich963 for this channel.

I'm over 60 and remember this group when I was younger. I always lover a few of their songs, like 'I'll Never Find Another You' and 'Georgie Girl'. But luckily for me I rediscovered then recently and know am listening to all their songs. What a talented and wholesome group!

They were, are, and always will be GREAT. What incredible talents. Carol and I never get tired listening to them. Been with them pretty much from the beginning and it just gets better and better.

The Seekers are my favorite group of all time! Perfect harmony all the time. I have so many favorites I can’t name a one song that’s better than the other. Imagine seeing them in concert! I can’t find the song Far Shore on any of their albums. Awesome group! Judith you have the most beautiful voice.

These three gentlemen and Judith are The Seekers. When one is absent, they still have their own musicianship , but like fine coffee, not the brew or tone. No one will surpass those unique folk known as the Seekers.

Everything they did was touching and so tight. Wonderful blend. Also, wonderful to see them still singing and playing at this age in their lives. Judith just passed away recently.

The Seekers' voices mix together like melted chocolate. Having been young when they were in the charts in the 1960s, I'm terribly sad that they are now old (like me, I'm getting there), and in Judith's case, gone forever.

What strikles me, is Judiths ability to completely blend into the background with such an amazing voice as hers. Just another showcase of her vocal abilities

I was very lucky to see the seekers at the Bridgewater hall in Manchester on the farewell tour,I was right in the front row centre,it was a night I’ll never forget,Judith’s voice just lit the room,just the best.

This is one of my favorite folk songs, and I just want to listen over and over to it, and think of when I first heard it and how it speaks to what’s going on in 2024 for many of us.

What an incredibly beautiful performance of this wonderful classic.....brought tears to my eyes listening to the simple arrangement and the profound words....no one but the Seekers could make this song like it is.....

Bruce Woodley and Keith Potger amaze me with both their instrumental and vocal skills. Bruce Woodley does an even better job at this song than back in '65. Potger's Guardian Angel is beautiful as well. Please bring thing music back and not the garbage out there now days. Thank you Seekers!
