Some insight from one person on this journey to another. After losing 83 pounds I have the worst self esteem I have ever had. I constantly have felt judged and watched. It doesn’t help when there’s always that one person out there mirroring what you already think. I have come to the conclusion that we are far nastier to ourselves than anybody else will ever be. That is my struggle. To learn to love myself. You do have people who care about your journey. We are all in this together. :)

Me is the same! Now I Have Body Dysmorphia, see myself bigger than I am really are, but can´t do anything against it...I was 111,4 Kilogram and lost 50 Kilogram and still think my Body is big, while others think I´m really small because I´m 1,70m tall...

I used to be 309lbs and lost 121lbs all on my own , meaning no surgery. Exercise was key and of course diet. I have since put back on about 70 pounds. I feel as if I have lost myself once again. Everyday I feel determined to make the right choices , but always fall into temptation . It is a hard journey.... and I’m trying to make sure I can get back into the right frame of mind. It’s a struggle everyday. Hope you can keep looking ahead and get to your final goal weight! 👍🏼

Congrats on the weight loss. It is hard taking it off but it seems to be harder for people to actually keep it off!! You can do this.... It is sooo worth it when you get to a 'normal' weight range. What threw you off-track to start regaining?

sheraine zeffrienne change of job positions. I now sit in an emergency dispatch center sitting for 12 hours a day and it takes a toll of my stamina. Stopped working out. My eating isn’t terrible it’s the not working out that is impacting me. I’m 49 years old and my metabolism needs all the help it can get. I don’t have issues with low self esteem but I do have issues with me gaining my weight back. I’m a beauty youtuber and I feel as if beauty comes in all shapes and sizes. We are all beautiful , just my body needs a little work 😂

Jodi Peacock the only WAY is to start exercising again....even if u walk for 30 minutes daily at least it’s getting your mind out of the funk it gets into when we don’t move our bodies. Exercising is for our mind body and soul. Also consume d ark leafy greens either in juice form or smoothies. (Although I don’t recommend smoothies too much). Consuming large dark leafy green salads transforms out palates so we are less to be tempted to choose u wisely. Hope this helps you! ♥️

That is amazing Jodi. To lose all that on your own is SO impressive, even if you gained some back, the fact that you lost that much to begin with is commendable 💪👏 I had surgery to lose the weight because I felt unable to trust my own judgement & willpower, however it's not easy either way. And I'm pleased with the outcome, having gone from 310lbs to 175. Maintaining is the challenge for me though!😍

Rosalie, I have been with you from the beginning. You have always been an inspiration to me. Weight loss alone is not easy. I would worry if every video you did, even with the lows, was presented as perfect and manageable (with smiles and all kinds of fluff and positivity). That would NOT be normal. Life is full of stresses, and you are certainly right in saying that you have gone through many changes over the life of your channel. It's ok to take a break when you need it. There are no rules, and you do not need to apologize to anyone. Life is day to day and no matter how much we plan there will always be twists and turns. I have wanted to start my weight loss channel for about a year and a half, but I have always postponed because I have not felt like it's been the right time. So unrealistic because with that in mind it will never be the right time. Everything you said about starting a channel and being accountable is true, but it is also my driving force (and it must be even with the good, bad, and ugly). I am much older and am now on the precipice of deciding to live my life aging in good health, or living a life that inevitably ends with horrible disease and becoming homebound (or even worse, in a nursing home). I am willing to share my struggles and be accountable in front of many to meet my goals, all with the good, the bad, and the ugly. So, I get my inspiration from you and a few others on RU-vid that are on a journey to a healthier life. I would rather see honest accounts of the real struggles because we have all gotten to where we are for so many different reasons. Just take care of yourself and checkin when you can. You will find your balance in everything you are doing eventually...it's all a learning curve. Thanks for hanging in there!!!

I’ve been absent for a while on here and wanted to get myself back on track so I looked up your channel. You’ve been a huge inspiration in so many respects. I know you’re on here to share your weight loss journey and to hold yourself accountable, but your channel does so much more. I love that you are candid with the emotional struggle of day to day life, whether it stems from losing weight or other stresses. This video touched me quite a bit. I can see how heavy hearted you are and I wanted to tell you that regardless of where you are in the journey you have done incredibly well. It is extraordinarily difficult to put yourself out there and post these videos and you have my upmost respect. I wanted to thank you for sharing.

Yes! I am just getting out of my funk. I regained a chunk of the 110lbs that I lost and now I hit the reset button. We have both come to far from where we once were. This past year has been tough for me as well but I know there is light at the end of the tunnel! Hold tight and keep pushing and praying for strength and guidance. No matter what...you are NOT where you were! Hold on to that and take pride in your accomplishment. Hugs for you hon! You can do it...no matter how long it takes! Take care of yourself and nourish with the little things that bring you joy. ❤️💪🏽❤️
@starstuff100

remizart ask yourself what those “trigger” foods are... how many contain animal products? I highly suggest a plant based diet. It’s the only thing that ever worked for me (down 120 pounds and have kept it off without any formal dieting) ❤️
@remizart
@remizart 5 лет назад
starstuff100 actually I don’t really have trigger foods. There was and still is a lot of stress in my life. After pushing and pushing through, I snapped. I couldn’t take anymore and it led to depression and tears! I would get out and walk 5 miles and cry most of the way. I pushed hard and tried to walk my stress away. This all transformed into stress eating and some stress binging for the first time in my life! My 110lbs weight loss is now only 50lbs BUT I haven’t given up. I got back on the horse and I’m working out again and eating healthy. Some of my stress has eased and the rest I am trying to put in God’s hands! I REFUSE to give up! Too much work and sacrifice went into getting that 110lbs off! I’m recused now and on my way to a healthy me.

This post was exactly what I needed to see/hear! I started at 358lbs and am hovering between 299 and 305 now, and have been for months and months. I have struggled right along with you the last while and relate so much to everything you say. I am a 'yes' girl, I can't say no to anyone! I also have anxiety which tends to make me put things off for so long that by the time I have to actually face it and do it I get more anxiety! This anxiety can come from my job or things like cleaning my house. I understand everything you said. This is not an easy road but I am so happy you have 'restarted'! Please keep posting, I look forward to every new video you post as I am sure many others do!!

As a college lecturer myself, I can totally relate to the situation whereby the semester ends but the work doesn't stop. It surprises me every year! This is an awesome video because anyone who thinks there are no setbacks and difficult times in any epic journey is deluding him/herself. Remember, there's no book or Hollywood film without a few setbacks - how boring would that be? Just kidding. I'm so happy to see you back and I'm with you all the way as I too struggle with my own weight loss journey. xxx

All of what you say makes sense. Your thoughts remind me of my younger self. Life happens. Stepping away is refreshing. When something you love doing becomes a drag you have to break away. This silence, in my opinion, is how caterpillars become butterflies. You have to feed your spirit. To me you accomplished so much in your health. You will continue to move forward in this journey but if you never produce another video it is fine. Your journey is none of our business unless you make a program out of it. You've done your job. You've inspired thousands. Your own inspiration is more important. People who make fun of you are simply jealous and would never work toward a goal of their own. I liken your struggle to a car flowing through traffic, there is a roadblock, you reroute, and there you are.....driving free....Oh, heck. Keep moving. Each day is a road trip. You be the driver. Thank you! You are wonderful.

I can relate to that self imposed pressure to always do more. Sometimes it’s good because it pushes you to accomplish things, but sometimes the stress from that pressure can be detrimental to your health. No one can sustain high stress for a long time and not begin to feel the ramifications. It’s important to try to be gentle and forgiving with yourself as you would with a dear friend. This doesn’t mean you’re making excuses or avoiding hard work, just acknowledging that you’re human like everyone else and beating yourself up is not productive. I for one admire your perseverance so much! If you never quit you haven’t failed.

I have to tell you, it's like you're describing why I haven't been back to RU-vid. You just made me get up and plan my first video back. But I'm going to tell you what I just told myself. Screw everyone!!! This is YOUR journey.... not ours. We're here to support you....to cheer you on. Those that have negative things to say..... screw them. They don't matter!! Focus on the support.... not the nay sayers. I support you. I'm going to start my channel back up this week. We can do this!!!! I'm here for you!! ❤

Rosalie, I'm proud of you!! I love watching your videos because I know that they are all leading up to a time when we can all look back on this and see how far you've come :) And they give such a real account of what work truly needs to be done to lose weight. I lost 120 lbs in college and kept it off two years until tragedy struck. It took me moving to another country and realigning my lifestyle and healing to understand what went wrong. And now I'm back down to my previous weight. Dealing with the other stuff allowed me to treat myself well. And that will take time and changes...which happen slowly. I am excited to see you work through things and live a happier and healthier life :)

Weightloss is a lifelong journey... and an emotional rollercoaster... enjoy yourself no matter where you are on that journey... I lost 232 lbs and gained 200 back and had to realize that it was me not anyone else that had to be happy with me... my husband didnt love me more or less either way... love yourself either way and just keep on the journey!

Don't be hard on yourself. You are determined to turn things around, and that is the important thing. I just got "back on track" like 3 weeks ago and have 100 pounds to lose. Stay positive...you can do this 😊✨💗👍🌟!

Rosalie, I just want to say that you are a HUGE inspiration to me. Not just in terms of weight loss, but your career and personality and goals are so similar to mine and what I want out of my life. I know that you can kick weight-loss's ass because you're just that epic and determined, but even if you never lost another pound, you would still be one of my favourite people on RU-vid.

Rosalie, I miss you when you are not here, but understand that you need to take time for yourself. You have a very busy life. I have been with you from the beginning and have loved your candor and down to earth sense of humor. I am proud of you for all of your success throughout the past two years and anticipate more success in the coming years. I know that you will succeed in completing your goals personal and professional. Stay focused on you and don't worry about us (your followers) we will be just fine and watching for your successes. Sending hugs.

Glad you took time for you. Also glad you are still moving forward and trying. Six years ago I lost 40 pounds, still wasnt to my goal of 175 at 5ft3...but felt great...then I took a break...and have since gained 35 pounds back. So you are doing great by getting back on track with 9.6 pounds of regain. Dont listen to the haters. They will trash you out of jealousy...saying your too fat...your too skinny...people sick. So focus on positive supporting comments and take care of you. Glad you are back.

Oh Hun! I'm SO happy you're back, but more importantly that you took some time out to see if this is REALLY what you want to be doing! I took several weeks off of my blog recently, so I know how that goes! I'm cheering you on, Sweetheart! Big Hugs, Kitty

Welcome back! I'd been wondering where you went and if you're okay. Glad you only just took a break. I'm with you. Work has been really stressful for me lately and I've been stress-eating and not happy with myself. Only I can fix it though, so I'm back at it. Keep your head up hun!!

I hear you and I see you. As a former university adjunct instructor and recovering “yes” person myself, I can relate to you so hard. It took me a long time to learn that no matter how hard you work (especially in certain departments-I was in English), you can never fully satisfy people (students, department chairs) or get the amount of recognition (or compensation!) you have earned. Being a people-pleaser in academia is EXHAUSTING. And unsustainable. So I’m glad you took time for you. I hope you can continue to move forward and find some balance, even if that means stepping away from this channel to regroup. As a subscriber, I have enjoyed following your journey because I find YOU and your struggles and triumphs so relatable and honest, and I appreciate the time you take to make this content. However, if the feeling of being beholden to others outweighs a helpful sense of accountability, IT IS OK to find something else that works for you. You got this! And different phases might call for different versions of what “this” is. (Also, an aside, what I found helpful to break my say-yes-to-everything mentality was so break the immediacy of the situation by making my answer some version of: “I’m going to take some time to think about it, can I get back to you soon?” If I decided to decline, instead of saying, “I’m sorry I can’t” I’d turn it into a positive, “my schedule doesn’t allow for it at this time, but thank you for thinking of me!”)

Thank you for sharing. I always miss when you don’t post a video but I would much rather you take care of yourself than make a video. I think you are amazing and am hoping you keep on taking the time you need for yourself..RU-vid isn’t going anywhere and neither are your fans ❤️
@fitnessandfunwithbenmartin4005
I understand what you are saying, I get it, I have so many faults and am probably the worst to give advice. However what gives people the right to write demeaning and hurtful comments, the internet is an amazing and scary thing and has allowed people to hide behind a screen and treat people in a less then nice way. Keep going, keep pushing, you obviously want this that’s why you keep going. You deserve this for you, be selfish, I’m also a yes person! Well done xx

When I started watching your videos I was in the 380 range. I thought you were so wonderful and was so excited to see someone REAL and genuine going through the same struggle. I decided that I would try to follow you as you lost weight and, as I always do, always made excuses. I watched you lose to 380, and continue on down. Well, now you are at 359 and I have hit my highest of 407, currently 401. You didn't give up. You've thrived. All the struggles, the immense workload, you are still DOING IT. I could be right there with you, and I would be so proud! But, I always fail. YOU show me that it can be done. No matter what it can be done. I just wish I was as strong as you. Hold your head high, you don't need to answer to anyone here.

Rosalie, I’m so happy to see you! I’m convinced you are on the right path making time for yourself and putting your needs first. I’ve done best when I have focused on doing more things that make me happy. Like putting on your own oxygen mask before helping others. I’ve done best when I do things for my self literally first. First thing in the morning. «Sure, I’ll help. Just after my walk/swim/healthy meal prep.»

It's easy to get discouraged by slow progress (or no progress) over a long period of time, but the reality is that you achieved a significant portion of your weight loss goal in your first year, and since dropping that 70-80lbs, you've *maintained* that weight loss for an extended period. This is such an important victory. Truly. Is it what you wanted for your second year? Maybe not...but life *does* in the way, and you're not in a race with anyone, not even with yourself. For what it's worth, I've never judged you for a lack of progress; I do, however, admire you for staying balanced until you're able to prioritize this particular goal again.

It’s just as important to take care of your mental health as well as your physical health. They can go hand in hand, having a little mental break is fine and I’m happy for you that you did that and are trying once again, that’s all you can do. Be well and I’m sending you encouragement, to just keep at it and you’ll meet those goals of yours.
