Android has become so much more solid over the last handful of years that it really doesn't matter if it's 14 or 15. Good experience and nice features to be had by all of the android community. Definitely nice feature drops for Android if you're a pixel user!
more important question is, why have android updates become so boring. I remember how stoked i was for and android nougat, then for Q and then for 12 . But since 12 its been pretty meh 13 14 15 all the same
exactly. personally, i don't even like android 12. android 10/11 were by far where Android UI had peaked and android 12 seemed to me like a downgrade. it went from a professional looking OS to a toddler's choice, and it's been like that since.
@@anshudipkarn android does look modern and aesthetically pleasing but i get where youre coming from, although i also have a problem with ui inconsistencies in material you. Android developers arent as enthusiastic
@@Alikk784 yeah it might have looked more exquisite and pleasing if it had consistency across the platform. Even some Google apps aren't themed for Material You.
Android 15 is a stacked minor update from ANDROID 14. I reverted back to android 14 and I don't really miss anything. It's ok for PIXEL 9 releasing with the android 14. People should stop complaining for simple things!
I mean the phone's coming out months earlier than usual so I don't think it's a big deal but it is a little noteworthy just cuz it's never happened before I don't think. Usually every time a new pixel comes out, it's on the newest version of Android. In fact, I'm using Android 15 right now
@@tuzorangerIt still does. You can get Android 15 on any pixel that's still supported right now just using the beta. I'm literally typing this on Android 15 using the pixel 6 pro
Well I'm with you. I prefer stability. It will be my first pixel my last one was the pixel 4 xl. I'm going to enjoy the best of both worlds in ios and android. Looking forward to the pixel 9.
I have a Pixel 8 Pro. Installed 15 Beta. The last updates f*** up the phone in many ways. Screen freezes, crashes, sudden app incompatibility (when it was before)... If they bring this version to the Pixel 9, it will be a disaster..
Google real smart. They promised 7 years of updates so they launch the new phone without latest update, then release first update meaning one update cycle is gone
If that's true then it's probably for the better. If my phone is 7 years old I'd rather have a security update than an OS update that will possibly bog down my phone.
Even Google seems to think 15 is a meaningless update if this is the case, along with how they barely mentioned Android back at I/O. The majority of people will update to 15 and not notice any difference whatsoever.
With all these AI delays that are buzzing around online right now. What Im understanding is that software HASN'T COOKED LONG ENOUGH YET. And yet AI is being advertised EVERYwhere. AI is really the selling point for many things right now as it is.
Let's hope that Google can finish polishing Android 15 for the final version. And that they also return to the candy-inspired versions one day, otherwise we'll end up with a galaxy-sized Android.🌌
Android 15 is not a huge update anyways. It's ok to wait for the stable one. Also this makes count of 7 years OS updates as 6 years since they will be running an yesr old Android Version.
Great video once again I could care less. it don't bother me none. it's just people complaining what they do best. take your time so there ain't no bugs. that's what I say. we'll get it in a couple weeks after or a month
Releasing the latest version of Android later means that they do not have to support the Pixel 5A (the last good .Google phone, RIP Nexus and Pixel) as the guaranteed updates finish at the end of August, I suspect this is probably the reason.
Maybe this year is just the transition year. Next year Android development cycle could start earlier than usual so that the next Pixel release will have the latest version on the device once again. 🤔
I won't even look at a pixel phone until the pixel 10. Reason is very simple I don't like Samsung chips but I'll tolerate one. Personally I'm waiting for tmsc. who will be handling the pixel 10. I'll be waiting for the 10A. you'll see in about a year and a half. Till then I'll keep rocking my pixel 6A and yes I know it has a Samsung chip .
I think they should change(overhaul) the design of android on android version 17 as it will have completed the 5 year mark from Android 12 to 17. And after that android should be overhauled every 5 years or so to keep them in the game. They will have 5 years to properly get the feedback on a certain similar versions and can make it stable. For enthusiasts the overhaul design will be provided every 5 years. 😅
I will never understand the appeal of the 7 year promise (from any company). Not saying I'm right but I would love to see the data on how many people are using 5,6,7 year old phones. It just can't be a large enough number to make me believe that the "7 year promise" is anything but a marketing ploy
Let me guess, battery will improve drastically, halfway the year battery sucks again, and then Android 16 comes out, which drastically improves battery?
Android is slowly going 6ft under. It is better for google to even not produces any new versions. There are no major changes and nothing that really improves the performance.
Android 14 officially released on October 4th the same day the Pixel 8 was officially revealed. This report that Android 15 will not be on the Pixel 9 at launch is unequivocally false. There is 0 evidence to support the claim. Android 15 is a relatively minor update and with the last beta already released last month. It's significantly more likely that it'll be announced on August 13th officially and will ship on the pixel 9 series.
Now with 7 year updates on Pixels the updates will be slower.. They will stretch major software updates to lower the cost. In the 7 year cycle devices will get max 4 major updates. The 7 year cycle is a marketing thing. Not a good will move from Google.
Man, The mobile tech media is truly clueless. It will launch with android 15. Or a version of it that forces the update on set up. They have been bringing this BSP up on android 15. This is not like a windows computer where you just go well we do not think this is ready, lets wipe and install the the previous stable version. It would have been a massive waste of time and resources when getting this phone, BSP and launch period to have been bringing the previous release up on the hardware. And a full commercial release at that, not just the basic image. If it was this simple to just ship the older stable version of android like yall are claiming, then google and the entire android ecosystem would have been providing OS updates for longer and quicker for a long time now. You do not just go well, we will just install the previous version and call it a day. LOL. Its stable! Lets just install that! smh
@@Schmitty95 I know, I was somewhere that it was and according to Wikipedia, it was yesterday, you know that it's 14th August right? and not 15th August? What I have seen now is now that it may come out in October, I don't know where I found the original article, but there are articles saying October at least, it probably was the pixel 9 series that got launched on the 13th August
No, this is unacceptable google should launch the phone with android 15 like all the other companies. This is unacceptable. They need to fix this now apple would never do this weather I would rather for them to wait until October to release the phone so that way the software would be ready not sending out something that’s half baked
I’m not buying the pixel 9 if it does not have android 15 up there, they can do a software update with all the AI stuff but android android 15. It has to be up there when you buy your phone because they’re asking us to pay $1000 for the phone that’s unacceptable no.
Google is gone, completely, on My phone. Replaced by something that gives me back time and privacy. No accounts, not even a YT replacement as it's a time waster. Other than a privacy based email and an app for tracking fitness that is pretty much it in my app drawer. Android 15 is forcing AI into the phone so I'm forcing Google out. All My data has been removed from the Google acct as much as possible and is now running in a sand-boxed environment on Linux/GNU when I need to use it to post my opinions, etc.
@@kab1r that's what I was thinking? I'm all for team stability yet with a company as big as Google. If they're going to ship their hardware early than Android 15 should be on it ready & stable.
@@katinasoutherland7693 as long as it's smooth and fluid then that's what matters to me because Android 14 runs on my Pixel 8a like it's got a 10 year old chipset.
Yawn, where is it? Oh yea coming soon, maybe day 1 maybe later *points to boxes of pixel 9 already built*... Yea soon. Uh. I don't care, this is a hardware release and that's what we care about.
